상이한 조건에서 저장한 버터로부터 생성된 콜레스테롤 산화물의 확인

The effect of storage conditions on the oxidative stability of cholesterol in butter was studied by identifing cholesterol oxides by TLC. Experimental variables for storage conditions were packaging(packaged and unpackaged), storage temperature(ambient and refrigerated), light source(dark, fluorescent and ultraviolet), and storage period(2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks). No cholesterol oxides were detected from packaged butter under all storage conditions. When unpackaged butter was stored under darkness at ambient and refrigerated temperatures, cholesterol oxides were not detected even after 6 weeks of storage, but small amounts of $7{\alpha}-and\;7{\beta}-hydroxycholesterols$ were detected after 8 weeks of storage. When unpackaged butter was stored under ultraviolet light at ambient temperature, $7{\alpha}-hydroxycholesterol,\;7{\beta}-hydroxycholesterol$ cholestane-triol, and cholesterol epoxide were detected after 2 weeks of storage, and when fluorescent light was used instead of ultraviolet light, the same species of cholesterol oxides were detected after 6 weeks of storage. 버터에 함유된 콜레스테롤의 산화안정성에 대한 저장조건의 영향을 연구하기 위하여 버터를 포장한 것과 포장하지 않은 것을 저온과 상온에서 암소와 광원(형광등 및 자외선등)으로 조사하면서 각각 일정기간 저장하는 동안 생성되는 콜레스테롤 산화물을 TLC에 의하여 분리 확인하였다. 포장한 버터를 상온과 저온의 암소에서, 같은 조건에서 형광등과 자외선등으로 조사하면서 각각 8주간 저장 하였을 경우 콜레스테롤 산화물은 검출되지 않았다. 또한, 포장하지 않은 버터를 상온과 저온의 암소에서 저장하였을 경우 6주까지는 콜레스테롤 산화물이 검출되지 않았으나 8주 후에는 미량의 $7{\alpha}$- 및 $7{\beta}-hydroxycholesterol$이 검출되었다. 그러나 포장하지 않은 버터를 상온에서 자외선등으로 조사하였을 때는 저장 2주에, 같은 조건에서 형광등으로 조사하였을 때는 저장 6주에 각각 $7{\alpha}-hydroxycholesterol,\;7{\beta}-hydroxycholesterol$, cholestane-triol, cholesterol epoxide가 검출되었으며, 그 생성량은 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 증가하는 경향이었다.

N/A Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are autoantibodies against various antigens present in the cytoplasmic primary granules of neutrophils detected by standard indirect immunofluorescent technique fixing the neutrophil with alcohol. There are two types of ANCA characterized by immunoreactivity, perinuclear type AACA(P-ANCA) and cytoplasmic type ANCA(C-ANCA). ANCA was demonstrated in the sera of patients with inflammatory bowel disease. We have evaluated the reactivity against human neutrophils of sera from 44 patients with ulcerative colitis, 4 Crohns disease, 3 tuberculous colitis, 2 Behqets disease, 10 simple co- litis and 25 healthy controls. 26/44 (59.1%) sera from patients with ulcerative colitis con- tained ANCA compared with 2/4 (50.0%) from Crohns disease, 1/2 (50.0%) from Behqets disease and 2/25 (8%) from control sera. All ten from patients with simple colitis and all three sera from tuberculous colitis were negative. The presence or titer of ANCA was not cor- related with activity of treatment of ulcerative colitis. The predominant pattern of ANCA was cytoplasmic (30/31) and only one serum gave a perinucleatr pattern. In conclusion, ANCA occurred more commonly in ulcerative colitis than tuberculous colitis or simple colitis.(Korean J Gastroenterol 1994;26: 451 457)

Solid and papillary epithelial neoplasm of the pancreas is a rare tumor of low malignant po- tential. It tends to occur chiefly in young women. The origin of the tumor is still uncertain, although the studies from immunochemical staining suggest an origin from exocrine or endo- crine pancreas. The tumor is apparently curable by surgical excision in most cases, so it is very important to make a correct diagnosis before surgery. We present here a case of solid and papillary epithelial neoplasm of the pancreas occurred in 51-year-old woman, and a review of literatures.(Korean J Gastroenterol 1994; 26: 214-217)
Helicobacter pylori 감염진단을 위한 13C - 효소호기검사의 유용성 평가 : 다기관 공개 비비교 임상시험

N/A Objective : Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection plays an importanat role in the pathophysiology of gastrointestinal diseases, and its diagnosis is crucial in clinical practice. Currently many diagnostic methods are introduced for its simple, and accurate diagnosis. 13C urea breath test(13C-UBT) is a convenient, non-invasive and reliable test for the diagnosis of H. pylori infection. To assess the clinical value of the 13C-UBT, we examined the sensitivity, specificity of 13C-UBT with regard to other tests. Methods : A prospective multicenter study was done in 107 subjects(mean age 36 years, 55 males, 52 females) presenting for endoscopy from three university hospitals. We tested for H. pylori infection by 13C-UBT, serum IgG antibody level, and multiple biopsies for rapid urease testing and histology. Either a positive histology result or a combined positive CLO test and IgG ELISA in the presence of a negative histology results, was interpreted as a positive finding for H. pylori infection. 13C-UBT was performed after 4hrs fast. Breath samples were collected at 0 and 30 minutes after giving 75mg 13C-urea. Results: Results were analysed by isotope ratio mass spectrometry and expressed as units of delta( 13C, 13CO2 /12CO2) and considered as positive for H. pylori if delta value was greater than 4.0. Sensitivity and specificity of 13C-UBT were 94.5%, and 100% respectively. No significant adverse events were noted. Conclusions : The 13C-UBT offers an easy, safe and accurate approach to the diagnosis of H. pylori infection in routine clinical practice
