A new concept tractor is developed, which can conduct multi-functional complex tasks such as excavating and working with attached various equipments. A cabin of the agricultural tractor is designed to protect the driver from vibration transmitted due to the irregular ground and overturning of the tractor. In this paper, the dynamic characteristic of the cabin is identified through finite element analysis and effects of configurational parameters are investigated to insure the dynamic stiffness of the cabin.
Semi-empirical Method to Estimate Dynamic Stiffness of Pre-deformed Elastomers

Elastomers are extensively used in various machine design applications, mainly for vibration/shock/noise control devices. However,there are still difficulties in designing the elastomeric components applied in complex shapes and under pre-deformed states because of the complicated material properties. One of the most influential factors related to mechanical properties of elastomers are pre- and dynamic strains. Consequently, a large number of experiments have to be conducted to identify dynamic stiffness of elastomers considering their combined effects. In this paper, an efficient semi-empirical method that estimates dynamic stiffness of elastomers subjected to large static preload and small dynamic load is presented and evaluated experimentally. This method is capable of predicting the dynamic stiffness of elastomers under arbitrary compressive strain states from reduced experimental data.

The effects of imperfection in the axial symmetry of a disk on the vibration of the rotating disk at the resonance is analyzed. It is found that, at resonances, whereas the modal response of an axisymmetric disk has one frequency component(backward or forward), the modal response of an asymmetric disk is composed of two frequency components, backward and forward. In addition, the vibration amplitude of the asymmetric disk at the resonance is smaller than that of the axisymmetric disk.
전달율 측정에 의한 점탄성재료의 복소탄성계수 추출시의 민감도 분석

The complex Young's modulus of a viscoelastic material can be obtained as a function of frequency from the measurements of relative motion between the two ends of a bar-type specimen. Non-resonance method is usually used to obtain the complex Young's modulus over wide range of frequency including resonance points, while in resonance method information at resonance frequencies only is used. However, the complex Young's modulus obtained by the non-resonance method is often unreliable in the anti-resonance frequency regions because of the measurement noise problems. In this study, the effects of the random measurement errors on estimating the complex Young's modulus are studied in the aspect of sensitivity, and how to obtain the reliable frequency region for a given measurement error level is shown. The usable frequency regions in determining the complex Young's modulus are represented by a non-dimensional parameter formed with the wave length and specimen length.

An automotive wheel bearing is one of the most important components to guarantee the service life of a passenger car. The endurance life of a bearing is affected by many parameters such as material properties, heat treatment, lubrication conditions, temperature, loading conditions, bearing geometry, internal clearance and so on. Generally, a tapered roller bearing gives longer endurance life than that of an equivalent size ball bearing. Consequently, the application of taper bearing units will be increased for more compact design and extended warranty. In this paper, we derive the relation between loads and deformations of a taper bearing unit. On the basis of that, we calculate the endurance life of the taper bearing unit considering initial axial clearance.
막대형 시편의 종진동에 대한 동적모형 및 그 적용범위의 고찰

One of the most influential factors on estimating the complex modulus by using longitudinal vibration of a rod-type specimen is the accuracy of the approximate models for describing the dynamic behavior of the specimen. Performance of several approximate models is investigated analytically on the basis of the Pochhammer-Chree theory in case of infinite specimen and numerically on the basis of the finite element analysis in case of finite specimen. The frequency range where each model gives good approximation and its accuracy in that range are determined.
