        A New Record of Sea Star (Asteroidea:Phanerozonia) from Jejudo Island, Korea

        Some sea stars were collected from the coast of Seogwipo, Jejudo Island by using the fishing net at April2003, and were identified on the basis of their morphological characteristics. Among them, ParagonasterctenopesSladen, 1889 belonging to family Goniasteridae, order Phanerozonia is newly recorded from Korea.Twenty two species of asteroids are reported to be distributed in the Jejudo Island of Korea.

        항대사물질 6 - Aminonicotinamide 가 조직내 조효소 및 효소에 미치는 효과

        The effects of antimetabolite, 6-aminonicotinamide(6-AN) on levels of nicotinamide coenzymes and enzymes in quail tissues were investigated. The intraperitoneal administration of 6-AN (multiple doses of 15 ㎎/㎏ body weight) gave rise to a marked reduction in NAD and ATP levels in pectoral muscle but did not exert any influence on NADP and NADPH levels. A pectoral muscle glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity was significantly reduced but lactic dehydrogenase and aldolase activities were not affected. In liver NAD, NADP, NADPH, and ATP levels were not affected to any extent by 6-AN. Similarly, activities of liver glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and fructose bisphosphatase were not affected by 6-AN but malic enzyme activity was significantly lowered.

        A New Record of Sea Star Genus Nearchaster (Asteroidea: Notomyotida: Benthopectinidae) from East Sea, Korea

        An asteroid specimen was collected in adjacent water of Gisamun, Gangwon-do in the East Sea, Korea at a depth of 170 m by fishing net at May 2013. It was identified as Nearchaster (Nearchaster) pedicellaris (Fisher, 1910) belonging to family Benthopectinidae of order Notomyotida, which was new to the Korean fauna. The genus, family, and order of this species were also new to Korean waters. The partial sequence of mitochodrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) was determined for the first time and registered at GenBank.

      • Fauna of Echinoderms from Jindo Island and Its Adjacent Waters, Korea

        The joint faunal survey of Jindo Island, Korea was performed by the Korean Society of Systematic Zoology during June 29-July 1, 2004 in commemoration of the 20th anniversary. In this study, 20 echinoderm species of 13 families, ten orders in four classes such as one crinoid species, seven asteroid species of four families in three orders, five ophiuroid species of three families in two orders, four echinoid species of two families in one order, and three holothuroid species of three families in three orders collected from six localities (Bealpo, Chopyung, Supum, Hoedong, Seomang, and $34^{\circ}11'N\;and\;126^{\circ}21'E)$ were identified. Of these, one crinoid (Antedon serrata), two asteroids (Solaster dawsoni and Distolasterias nipon) and one pohiudoid (Astrodendrum sagaminum) are newly added to the echinoderm fauna of Jindo Island and one holothudoid (Pseudocnus sp.) is newly recorded in Korean waters. The total 31 species are presently listed with some brief remarks and their distribution patterns are discussed based on the composition of geographical distribution forms. 2004년 6월 29일부터 7월 1일까지 이루어진 한국동물분류학회 창립 20주년 기념 합동채집회에서 벌포와 초평, 수품, 회동, 서망, 북위 $34^{\circ}11'N$과 동경 $126^{\circ}21'E$ 등, 진도의 6개 지역에서 채집되어 동정된 극피동물은 4강 10목 13과 20종으로서 바다나리가 1목 1과 1종, 불가사리류가 3목 4과 7종. 거미불가사리 류가 2목 3과 5종, 성게류가 1목 2과 4종, 해삼류가 3목 3과 3종이었다. 이들 중 바다니리류 1종, 가시예쁜갯고사리 (Antedon serrata)와 불가사리류 2종, 도우손햇님불가사리 (Solaster dawsoni)와 일본불가사리 (Distolasterias nipon), 그리고 거미불가사리류 1종, 나무거미불가사리 (Astrodendrum sagaminum)는 진도에서 처음 기록되는 종이며 1종의 한국 미기록 해삼류 (Pseudocnus sp.)가 포함된다. 과거기록을 포함하여 총 31종의 종 목록을 작성하였으며, 분포형과 종 출현양상을 근거로 진도 해역의 극피동물상을 논하였다.

        해남반도 조간대의 환경과 저서동물상에 관한 연구

        해남반도의 사초리와 내동리, 어란리, 구성리의 조간대에서 1990년 10월과 1991년 5월에 채집된 저서동물을 동정하였으며, 저질의 이화학적 분석과 저서동물 군집구조 분석에 의해 그 분포상을 조사하였다. 저질의 pH는 봄철에 7.72∼7.89로 가을철에 7.44∼7.78보다 약간 더 높았고 사초와 내동보다는 구성과 어란리의 pH가 약간 높았다. COD는 1.40∼3.39㎎/g이었고 전질소량은 0.25∼1.77㎎/g, 유효인함량은 6.54∼9.71ppm이었다. 저토의 입도조성은 구성리가 점토성 양토, 어란은 점토성 미사양토, 사초는 사질성 양토, 내동은 양토성 사질이었다. 유기물 함량도 1.45∼4.13%로 봄철이 가을철보다 약간 높았고 구성과 어란에서 높고 내동에서 낮았다. 조사기간중 채집된 저서동물은 10문 17강 78과 122속 141종(4,641개체)이었다. 종수와 개체수에서 각각 연체동물(49.6%, 74.3%), 절지동물(22.7%, 16.2%), 환형동물(12.8%, 5.6%)이 대부분을 차지 하였다. 조간대를 모래·진흙지대와 암반지대로 나누어 조사하여 보면 모래·진흙지대(37과 69종)보다 암반지대(66과 114종)에 종이 다양하게 분포하였다. 모래·진흙지대에서는 4개지역의 종의 구성상태가 비슷하였으나 암반지대에서는 구성리(81종)에 가장 다양하게 나타났다. 계절별 종수와 개체수는 가을철(85종 1,639개체)보다 봄철(106종 3,002개체)에 증가하였고 지역별 출현 빈도를 보면 구성(100종 1,273개체)이 가장 높았고 사초(48종 909개체)가 가장 낮았다. 우점종은 연체동물의 복족류 Cerithideopsilla djadjariensis(412개체)이었으며 개체수가 200개 이상 채집된 종은 복족류 4종, 부족류 1종과 절지동물의 만각류 1종 등 6종이었고 100개 이상 채집된 종은 복족류 4종과 부족류 2종, 절지동물의 게류 1종과 극피동물의 해삼류 1종이었다. 종다양성 지수는 구성 (1.58)과 어란(1.50), 내동(1.45), 사초(1.23)의 순으로 지역간의 큰 차이는 없었으나 우점도 지수는 가장 많은 종이 출현한 구성에서 낮았고(0.04) 적게 나타난 사초에서 높았다(0.09). 각 지역간의 유사도 지수를 보면 모래·진흙지대에서는 4개 지역의 지수가 0.44∼0.53으로 비슷했으며 구성과 어란에서 서로 유사도가 높았다. 이는 저토의 입도조성에 있어서 유사한 점과 일치한다. 그러나 암반지대에서는 멀리 떨어져 있는 구성과 사초가 0.27로 낮았다. 따라서 종의 분포상태는 지리적 요인을 포함하여 저토의 입도조성과 유기물 함량 등 이화학적 환경 요인의 영향을 받고 있음을 알 수 있었다. We identified the benthos collected from intertidal zone in Sacho, Naedong, Oˇran and Kusoˇng of Haenam peninsula in October, 1990 and May, 1991 and examined the distribution pattern on the bases of the analysis of community structure and the physicochemical analysis of sediment including the grain component. The identified benthos consisted of 141 species and 4,641 individuals. The number of species and individuals of Mollusca, Arthropoda and Annelids occupy more than 85% of the total number. When the intertidal zone were divided into soft area and rocky area the species found in rocky area(114 species) were present in a more diverse way than that in soft area(69 species). The composition of species found in 4 localities turned out to be very similar in soft area while in rocky area the most diverse species were found in Kusoˇng. The seasonal appearance frequency of species and individuals showed that the number collected in the spring(106 species, 3,002 individuals) was higher than that in the fall(85 species, 1,639 individuals). The most dominant species was Cerithideopsilla djadjariensis belonging to Gastropods, Mollusca(412 individuals) and the species collected more than 200 individuals were 5 species of Molluscs and 1 species of Arthropods. The species diversity index of 4 localities was in the order of Kusoˇng, Oˇran, Naedong and Sacho revealed no significant differences among regions. The dominance index was low in Kusoˇng and was high in Sacho. The index of interstational species similarity in soft sediment was very similar with 0.44∼0.53 value and the index was quite high in Kusoˇng and Oˇran. This agrees very well with the similarity of the grain component of sediment. In case of rocky area the index was quite low with 0.27 for Kusoˇng and Sacho situated far away from each other. Thus the present study suggests that the distribution of the species was subjected to the physicochemical environmental factor such as the grain component of sediment and the content of organic materials including the geographical factor.

        조선 辛未通信使行의 東萊府 印床 고찰

        The last diplomatic mission to Japan during the Joseon period took place in 1811 (the eleventhyear of the reign of King Sunjo). A formal banquet was held in Busan to praise their hard workand to pray for the successful completion of their mission. This seal table, or insang (印床), ofDongnae-bu county office designed to support an official seal case, is a type of furniture for use ata banquet for guests of the state. This example was actually used at an official banquet in Busan. An inscription of thirty-one characters is written in ink on the table. It describes how the officersBak Su-ryang and Yi Yeong-jun, who are affiliated with the Naval Command of Dongnae-bu andalso members of the Tongsinsa mission, requested this seal table of the county office on the eighthday of the third month of the year 1811, after the banquet was held. The inscription providesinformation about the use and owner of the table as well as people connected to it and when theitem was used. The seal table is comprised of an octagonal top panel, rails, aprons, legs in the shape of tigerfeet, and struts. It is coated with red lacquer and partially painted in blue-green, light blue, andblack. It maintains its original form, although there are traces of use and previous restorations. Theseal table is associated with a boan (寶案), a table for the royal seal, in terms of function. Inappearance, it can be compared to a jujeong (酒亭, tables for liquor vessels), agasang (阿架床, ritualtables for placing liquor jars), or hyangjwaa (香佐兒, tables for incense burners and incense cases). Excluding the shape of the top panel, this seal table particularly recalls jujeong and agasang. Ajujeong, however, is a conservative piece of furniture that has retained its form since the earliestdays. Agasang, on the other hand, seems to have been applied as a broad name for tables since theterm has been used for both jujeong and dajeong (茶亭, table for serving tea). It also carries themeaning that the table legs are highly decorative. This characteristic of ornamental legs is found inthe Dongnae-bu seal table, demonstrating a certain relationship between the two. This seal table isan important source of information for examining the function and use of seal tables and othercharacteristics of furniture from the early nineteenth century, as well as for studying the TongsinsaMission of 1811 and the associated state banquet. 조선에서 일본으로 향한 마지막 通信使는 순조 11년(1811)의 辛未使行이었으며, 당시 부산에서는 사절 일행의 勞苦를 치하하고 성공적인 임무 완수를 기원하는 공식적인 연회가 베풀어졌다. 東萊府의 印床은 官印函을 올려놓는 宴享 家具의 한 종류로, 부산의 賜宴에서 사용된 기물이다. 인상에 남아있는 31자의 墨書銘은 “통신사 일행인 동래부 수영 소속 執事 박수량과 이영준이 신미년(1811) 3월 8일, 賜宴이 있은 후에 본부에 청했던 府司의 印床”으로 해석되어, 유물의 용도와 소재지, 관련 인물, 사용 시기 등을 파악할 수 있다. 印床은 팔각형 천판, 난간, 운각, 호족형 다리, 족대 등으로 이루어졌으며, 전반적으로 주칠 하였고 청록색, 하늘색, 먹색 등으로 부분 채색하였다. 오랜 세월의 흔적과 일부 보수된 모습이 관찰되지만 비교적 완형을 잘 갖추고 있다. 인상은 기능적인 측면에서는 御寶를 올려놓는 寶案과 연결되고 외형의 특징은 酒亭, 阿架床, 香佐兒 등과 비교해 볼 수 있다. 특히 印床의 천판 모양을 제외하면 酒亭이나 阿架床의 외형과 유사한 점이 많다. 그렇지만 酒亭은 일찍부터 왕실 의례에 등장하고 오래도록 보수성을 유지한 기물이다. 한편, 阿架床은 酒亭이나 茶亭을 대신하여 언급하기도 하였으며, 다리의 장식이 강조된 의미도 포함되었다. 또한 통신사의 기록에도 아가상이 언급되어, 탁자의 보편적인 이름으로 사용된 것을 알 수 있다. 아가상의 특징인 다리의 조각 장식이 동래부 印床에도 강조되어, 일정한 영향 관계를 추정할 수 있다. 동래부 인상은 신미통신사행과 賜宴, 印床의 쓰임과 기능 등 새로운 단면을 조명하고 19세기 초반 宴享 가구의 특징을 살펴보는데, 중요한 자료로 평가된다.

        New Records of Two Phanerozonian Asteroids (Echinodermata, Stelleroidea) in Korea

        Some asteroids were collected at a depth of 30 m in Chejudo Island. Of which two species were identified as Luidia maculata Muller et Troschel, 1842 and Linckia laevigata Linne, 1758. These species are turned out to be new to the Korean fauna and redescribed on the morphological characteristics with illustrations. Eighteen species of asteroids are reported to be distributed in the Chejudo Island of Korea. 제주도의 서귀포와 모슬포의 수심 30m 지점에서 채집된 불가사리류를 동정 분류한 결과, 현대목에 속하는 반점검은띠불가사리(Luidia Maculata Muller et Troschel, 1842)와 푸른불가사리(Linckia laevigata Linne. 1758)가 한국 미기록종으로 밝혀져 보고한다. 제주도 해역에 분포하는 불가사리류는 18종이 된다.

        A Newly Recorded Sea Star (Asteroidea: Valvatida) from Jejudo Island, Korea

        Some asteroid specimens were collected from the subtidal zone near Gapado, Jejudo Island with fishing net on June 2010. Among them, Anseropoda petaloides (Goto, 1914) which belongs to the family Asterinidae of the order Valvatida turned out to be a new record from Korea. Morphological characters of this species collected at 130 m deep are redescribed with photographs. This species is characterized by its very thin body composed of plates imbricated into each other like scales. Twenty four asteroids are currently known from Jejudo Island, Korea.

Among them, Tripneustes gratilla (Linnaeus, 1758) of Family Toxopneustidae was newly recorded from Korea and redescribed on the specimen collected at a depth of 25 m between Munseom and Sekkiseom. The detailed morphological description was presented with the photographs. This species was characterized by the very naked median areas of ambulacral and interambulacral portions and this genus was the first record in Korea. Eighteen echinoids are so far recorded in Jejudo Island, Korea.         항대사물질 6-aminonicotinamide가 메추리 조직내 조효소 및 효소에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 6-aminonicotinamide를 동물체중의 kg당 15mg 투여했을 때 흉부근육조직의 NAD와 ATP 함량은 현저히 감소하였으나 NADP와 NADPH의 함량은 변화하지 않았다. 흉부근육조직의 glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase 활성은 현저히 감소하였으나 lactic dehydrogenase와 aldolase 활성은 변화하지 않았다. 간 조직의 경우 NAD, NADP, NADPH 및 ATP 함량은 변화하지 않았다. Malic enzyme 활성은 저하되었으나 glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase와 fructose bisphosphatase 활성은 영향을 받지 않았다.
