Vol.11 No.4
A robot manipulator handling a heavy weight requires high-capacity motors and speed reducers, which increases the cost of a robot and the risk of injury when a human worker is in collaboration with a robot. To cope with this problem, we propose a collaborative manipulator equipped with a counterbalance mechanism which compensates mechanically for a gravitational torque due to the robot mass. The prototype of the manipulator was designed on the basis of a four-bar linkage structure which contains active and passive pitch joints. Experimental performance evaluation shows that the proposed robot works effectively as a collaborative robot.

In this paper, noise between each type of wires in automotive is considered. Characteristic of coupling noise for each wire types is different. For different wire types like normal wire, twisted pair and shielded wire, the noise coupling varies. The noise for each wire type is calculated using models for near end and far end cases. The magnitude of coupling noise form noise source to each wire as noise receptor can be calculated with overlapped length and distance between source and receptor wires. This paper treats modeling of coupling between two wires and calculation of coupling noise. Result of this paper can be used as methods of wiring design to avoid noise problem.
Vol.39 No.5
Titanium nitride (TiN) coatings were produced on AISI 420 stainless steel by DC magnetron sputtering of a Ti target changing the processing variables, such as the flow rate of N₂/Ar, substrate temperature and the existence of Ti interlayer between TiN coatings and substrates. The hardness and residual stress in the films were investigated using nanoindentation and a laser scanning device, respectively. The stoichiometry and surface morphology were investigated using X-Ray Diffraction and SEM. The corrosion property of the films was also s tudied using a polarization method in NaCl (0.9%) solution. Mechanical properties including hardness and residual stress were related to the ratio of N₂/Ar flow rate. The corrosion resistance also was related to the processing variables.

This study analyzed the media art space of teamLab based on Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's immersion theory to find out the expressive characteristics of the media experience space and cognitive thinking. As a method of the study, the teamLab's works were first analyzed focusing on the characteristics derived from the consideration of immersion theory to interpret the relationship between the expressive elements of the media art space and the immersive characteristics according to spatial expression. As a result of the analysis, teamLab's works create new artistic experiences through the fusion of natural elements and media art, and various natural elements are organically harmonized within the work and induce various visual experiences through imaginary images to the audience. In addition, the spatial and spatial changes and distortion of boundaries of the work obscure the boundaries between the audience's reality and the work, causing new sensory experiences and participation. Through the study, the relationship between the characteristics of space and the expression elements that occur in the stage of immersion in teamLab's media art space was identified, and the possibility of multiple directions and organic expressions on the boundaries of perception expressed by virtual images that induce visual interaction. Research findings indicate that the immersive characteristics of media art prioritize the dissolution of boundaries and the formation of active communication within artworks. The fusion of nature and media art stimulates audience interest and provides fluid meaning, thereby creating immersive experiences.
