Polypropylene (PP) is one of the commonly used packaging materials because of its excellent thermal stability, water vapor barrier property, and transparency. However, due to the poor oxygen barrier property of PP, it is manufactured and used as a non-recyclable multilayer film with ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) or polyamide (PA). In this study, TEMPOoxidation cellulose nanofibers (TOCNFs) were used to improve the oxygen barrier property of PP. TOCNFs were easily dispersed in water, which allowed it to be simply coated on the PP using a spray coating method. The thickness of the coated TOCNFs layer was controlled at 200 to 500 nm by spraying time. O<sub>2</sub> plasma treatment was used to improve the affinity of the interface between PP and TOCNFs. When the PP film was coated with TOCNFs, the oxygen transmission rate decreased from 1000 to 3 cc/m<sup>2</sup>·day·atm. In addition, it is easy to separate the coating layer and the PP substrate, so there is an advantage that can be recycle and reuse.
해수 환경에 노출된 연결부용 고강도 그라우트의 특성 분석

In this study, the workability (flow, setting time, heat of hydration), mechanical performance (flexural, compressive strength), and microstructure (SEM image, XRD pattern) of domestic high strength alumina cement grout (H1, H2) were examined in order to assess their applicability to marine construction. Based on data of the southern sea water temperature per the Korea Meteorological Administration, the range of 5~20 °C was selected as the curing temperature variable, and fresh water and seawater curing conditions were also considered. The results indicate that both H1 and H2 satisfy the performance requirement set by KS F 4044. However, it is noted that the compressive strength of the grout can decrease from ±5 to 18 % when cured in sea water, as compared to those cured in tap water. The change in the compressive strength, with curing conditions, is presumably attributed to CaO/Al2O3 and Al2O3/SO3 ratios.
노인 수술 환자의 간호 ․ 간병통합서비스 이용 현황 관련 요인

Purpose: The aims of this study were to compare patient characteristics and healthcare utilization of the comprehensive nursing service (CNS) and general ward groups among elderly patients after surgery and to identify the factors associated with CNS use. Methods: This secondary data analysis was conducted using the 2016 inpatient claims data of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service-National Inpatients Sample (HIRA-NIS). Elderly CNS patients were defined as those with at least one hospitalization record based on a CNS code. Independent t-tests, chi-squared tests, and hierarchical logistic regression analyses were performed by employing the Anderson behavioral model. Results: A total of 81,840 elderly patients with a history of surgery (6,374 in the CNS group vs. 75,466 in the general ward group) were identified using the 2016 HIRA-NIS data. The average number of hospital days was greater (14.25 vs. 13.07) and the average cost per hospitalization was higher (Korean won 4,567,915 vs. 3,374,410) for the CNS group. Factors associated with the utilization of CNS included age, gender, department type, major diagnosis, admission route, intensive care unit entrance, medical assistance type, and healthcare institution type, location, and the number of doctors and nurses per 50 beds (all p<.001). Conclusion: Based on our study findings, it is necessary to meet patients’ needs by focusing on dominant users and consider institutional characteristics that reflect the target group to apply the CNS policy more effectively.

TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibrils (TOCNF) with excellent transparency, flexibility, and gas barrier properties is an attractive biodegradable material. Here, layered double hydroxide (LDH) was used to prevent cellulose from deteriorating its properties by moisture. LDH was exfoliated in TOCNF dispersion containing NaCl, MgCl<sub>2</sub>, and CaCl<sub>2</sub> salts of various concentrations, and LDH provided tortuous path to cellulose matrix. The TOCNF/LDH dispersion was sprayed on top of oxygen plasma treated PP film, and the layer had a thickness of about 500 nm after drying. The TOCNF coated films showed superior oxygen barrier properties to uncoated films. In particular, the addition of LDH allowed oxygen barrier properties to be maintained even under high humidity. Therefore, this work provides a strategy for improving existing packaging films in an eco-friendly manner based on cellulose.
