Objectives: This Study aims to identifying the application areas of big data in military healthcare and the preceding subjects for its introduction Methods: Various prior studies and related cases of domestic and foreign healthcare organization are reviewed to identify benchmarking elements for the introduction of big data in military healthcare. Results: This study suggests possible areas for big data introduction in military healthcare. They are prediction of disease, forecast of infectious disease outbreak, optimizing use of medical resources, improvement of responsiveness and accuracy of care, enhancement of medical personnel, medicine, medical equipment and evacuation materials and support analytical data for military medical research. Also, as the preceding subjects for the introduction of big data, data quality management, securing professional workforce and organization, and culture for data-based decision making are suggested. Conclusions: The significance of this study is that it presents possible areas for big data introduction in military healthcare and considerations for its successful introduction.

While the fuel economy of passenger vehicles are measured using a chassis dynamometer, that of construction machinery such as excavators is presumably measured by standard work cycle, which is under examination abroad. In order to measure the fuel consumption under standard work cycle, a measurement methodology, while excavator operates in dynamic(transient) motion, needs to be examined and evaluated. In this work, three methods, such as gravimetry, ECU CAN signal and mass flow meter, are studied and compared. This work reveals that when ECU CAN signal is evaluated compared to gravimetry or mass flowmeter, it could be used to measure the fuel consumption with accuracy and thus evaluate and approve the fuel economy of construction machinery, which will be implemented in near future A further study is scheduled to implement the measurement method at standard work cycle.
