        소양인 연속성 딸꾹질 환자의 치험례

        1. Objectives Hiccup is one of common symptoms clinically and caused by various etiologies. Persistent hiccup is defined as hiccup lasting more than 48 hours. We have tried researching effect of herbal medicines(Dokhwaljihwang-tang, Yangkyuksanhwa-tang). 2. Methods To heal the persistent hiccup, we used Dokhwaljihwang-tang and Yangkyuksanhwa-tang. 3. Results A Soyangin patient diagnosed to have persistent hiccup was, treated with Soyangin herbal medicines (Dokhwaljihwang-tang and Yangkyuksanhwa-tang), and change of his symptom & general condition was managed. 4. Conclusions The constitutional treatment with Soyangin herbal medicines(Dokhwaljihwang-tang, Yangkyuksanhwa-tang) may have an effect on management of persistent hiccup. Further study on management of this disease is needed.

      • Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4)/CD26 : Biological Functions, Disease Association, and Therapeutics

        Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4), 또는 CD26 단백질은 세포막 바깥쪽 도메인에 단백질의 2번 위치에 존재하는 프롤린이나 알라닌 잔기를 절단하는 dipeptidyl peptidase 효소활성을 갖는 다기능 당단백질이다. 세포내 중요한 신호전달 인자로 작용하는 다양한 생리활성 물질들이 DPP4의 기질이기 때문에, DPP4는 당대사 조절, 항염증반응 및 심혈관대사 작용에 중요한 역할을 한다고 알려져 있다. 흥미롭게도 고병원성 사람코로나바이러스인 MERS-CoV의 세포수용체로서 DPP4의 역할도 보고되었다. DPP4는 관련된 많은 질환에서 중요한 약물 표적으로 여겨져 왔기 때문에, 본 논문에서는 DPP4의 생물학적 기능, 질병연관성, 치료제 등에 관한 내용을 살펴보고자 한다. Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4; also known as CD26) is a multifunctional glycoprotein containing an ecto-domain with didpetidyl peptidase enzymatic activity that cleave the proteins containing a position 2 proline or alanine. Since there are a variety of bioactive DPP4 substrates acting as important signaling messengers, DPP4/CD26 is shown to play key roles in transducing the glucoregulatory, anti-inflammatory, and cardiometablolic actions. Moreover, DPP4 can function through protein-protein interactions to exert its biological functions, regardless of its enzymatic activity. Interestingly, DPP4 was identified as a host receptor for middle east respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), a highly pathogenic human coronavirus. Since DPP4 has been a critical therapeutic target for many related diseases, in this review, we will discuss the current understanding of DPP4/CD26 regarding its biological functions, disease association, and therapeutic approaches.

        청심연자탕(淸心蓮子湯)이 심전도(心電圖) 변화(變化)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 관한 연구(硏究)

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Sasang constitutional herbal extracts, Cheongsimyeonjatang(CYT) on ECG(electrocardiogram). For this purpose, Ten hospitalized Taeumin patients were selected and changes of the ECG was investigated. The researcher also measured and observed ECG changes before and after CYT medication. The following is the summarized results of study. 1. The RV5+SV1 voltage was decreased in LVH patients. 2. The S-T voltage was decrease in the previous S-T elevated patients. 3. The heart rate was increased in the patients of lower heart rate than normal. 4. There was no remarkable change after medication on T-inversion and bundle branch block. From the above results, it is concluded that Cheongsimyeonjatang(CYT) have influenced on ECG.

        CNKI에서 중국의 사상체질의학(四象體質醫學) 철학 연구 현황과 특징

        The purpose of this study is to understand how Sasang Constitutional Medicine has been understood in China. Methods I searched for topics in Chinese such as Sasang medicine (四象醫學), Sasang constitution (四象體質), Chao medicine (朝醫), philosophy (哲學), principles (原理), the school of Confucianism (儒家), Confucianism (儒學) and ideology (思想) in CNKI database on January 15, 2019. The selected studies were summarized as three sections; the basic principles of Sasang Constitutional Medicine, influences of Confucianism and comparison with other medicines. Results In China, the principles of Sasang Constitutional Medicine is explained using the concepts such as Heaven-Human-Nature-Order, the Great Ultimate (Taiji), Two Modes (Liang-Yi), Sasang, heart, sorrow-anger-joy-pleasure, nature-emotions (Xingqing), and viscera-bowels (Zang-Fu). Sasang Constitutional Medicine is considered to has been influenced by Confucianism. The form of Sasang Constitutional Medicine was affected by the Book of Changes (Zhouyi), and the contents were impacted by the Great Learning (Daxue), the Doctrine of the Mean (Zhongyong), the Mencius (Mengzi) and the Analects (Lunyu). Sasang Constitutional Medicine have distinctive characteristics in comparison with other medicines, such as inherent determinations of constitution, organs difference by constitution the actions of nature, emotions and desire, recognition of humans as social beings, and the signification of heart as a presiding center. Conclusion In China, the philosophy of Sasang Constitutional Medicine has been studied with basis of four-element structure; activity, mind, body and matter. Also, it has been researched in medical aspects of human trying to control the nature and emotions to be physically, mentally and socially healthy.

        뇌경색 환자의 안지오텐신 전환요소 유전자 다형성과 사상체질

        The correlation between angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) polymorphisms and cerebral infarction (CI) has been controversial. Such controversy may be due to different classifications of cerebrovascular diseases and ethnic differences. I studied the correlation between ACE genotypes and CI patients by case-control study in the Korean population. I also classified CI patients and control group into four types according to Sasang constitutional medicine. Furthermore I investigated the correlation among ACE genotypes, CI and Sasang constitutions. The frequencies of D allele were 0.32 in subjects with CI and 0.40 in the control group without CI (X2=0.128, p=0.720). In patients with CI, the frequency of Taeumins, one of four Sasang constitutional types, was significantly higher than that in controls (X2=15.425, p<0.00l). I did not find any correlation between ACE polymorphism and CI in Koreans. However, there were significant differences in allele frequencies between Koreans and Europeans, while similarities were shown to those of Japanese and Chinese populations.

        소양인(少陽人) 임신오조(姙娠惡阻) 환자를 형방사백산(荊防瀉白散)으로 치료한 치험례

        1. Objectives Hyperemesis Gravidarum is one of common symptoms clinically and caused by pregnancy. This is defined as vomiting sufficiently pernicious to produce weight loss, dehydration, acid-base imbalance. In severe case, it also leads to neurologic abnormality including confusion, gate disturbance, nystagmus. We have tried researching effect of herbal medicines, Soyangin Hyungbangsabaek-san. 2. Methods To heal the Hyperemesis Gravidarum, we used Soyangin Hyungbangsabaek-san. 3. Results Hyperemesis Gravidarum of a Soyangin patient was treated with a herb-medicine, and change of her subjective symptom & general condition was managed. 4. Conclusions The constitutional treatment with herb-medicine (Soyangin Hyungbangsabaek-san) was efficacious against Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Further study on management of this disease is needed.

        형방지황탕(荊防地黃湯) 전탕액(煎湯液)이 산소자유기로 손상된 배양(培養) 해마신경세포(海馬神經細胞)에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to examine the toxic effects caused by glucose oxidase (GO) and the effects of Hyungbangjihwangtang (HJT) water extracts on the treatment of the toxic effects. For this purpose, experiments with the cultured hippocampal cells from new born mice were done. The results of these experiments were as follows. 1. GO decreased the survival rate of the cultured cells on MTT assay and NR assay. 2. HJT has the efficacy of decreasing the lipid peroxidation. 3. HJT has the efficacy of increasing the amount of neurofilaments. 4. HJT has the efficacy of decreasing the activation of protein kinase C(PKC). From the above results, it is concluded that HJT has marked efficacy as a treatment for the damages caused by the GO-mediated oxidative stress. Further clinical study of this pharmacological effects of H]T should be completed.

        십이미관중탕(十二味寬中湯)과 오수유부자리중탕(吳茱萸附子理中湯)의 간손상(肝損傷) 보호작용(保護作用)에 대한 연구

        Osuyubujaijung-tang(OBT) and Sipyimiguanjung-tang(SGT) has been developed as prescriptions for the Soyeumin constitution. The hepatoprotective effect of the water extract of Osuyubujaijung-tang(OBT) and Sipyimiguanjung-tang(SGT) was investigated against carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced hepatic damage. A single intra-peritoneal injection of CCl4 produced liver damage in rats as manifested by the significant rise of aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) in serum as compared to those of untreated normal group. Pretreatments of rats with Osuyubujaijung-tang(OBT) and Sipyimiguanjung-tang(SGT) 500 mg/kg for 7 days) were significantly reduced AST, ALT, and ALP levels compared with CCl4-treated control group. Treatment of rats with CCl4 led to significantly increase in lipid peroxidation and significantly decrease in cytochrome P450 and P450 reductase. The oral administration of Osuyubujaijung-tang(OBT) and Sipyimiguanjung-tang(SGT) water extract significantly inhibited the accumulation of microsomal thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) and increased the cytochrome P450 and P450 reductase activity. All these biochemical alterations resulting from CCl4 administration were inhibited by the pretreatment with Osuyubujaijung-tang(OBT) and Sipyimiguanjung-tang(SG1) extract. These results suggest that Osuyubujaijung-tang(OBT) and Sipyimiguanjung-tang(SGT) water extract can be useful as a hepatoprotective agent. And the effect of NO modulation by NO synthesis or precursors, and Osuyubujaijung-tang(OBT) and Sipyimiguanjung-tang (SGT) water extract was researched on chronic liver damage induced by CCl4 administration. It was observed that endogenous NO protected the liver from lipid peroxidation, fibrosis, and damage. Osuyubujaijung-tang(OBT) and Sipyimiguanjung-tang(SGT) water extract showed the hepatoprotective effect on the chronic liver cirrhosis model and relationship with NO modulation.

        열다한소탕(熱多寒少湯)이 저산소성(低酸素性) 대뇌신경세포(大腦神經細胞) 손상에 미치는 영향(影響)

        To elucidate the neuroprotective effect of Yeoldahanso-tang(YHT) on nerve cells damaged by hypoxia, the cytotoxic effects of exposure to hypoxia were determined by XTT(SODIUM3,3'-{I-[(PHENYLAMINO) CARBONYL]-3,4-TETRAZOLIUM}- BIS (4-METHOXY-6-NITRO) BENZENE SULFONIC ACID HYDRATE), NR(Neutral red), MTT(3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) and SRB(Sulforhodamin B) asssay. The activity of catalase and SOD(Superoxide dismutase) was measured by spectrophometry, and $TNF-{\alpha}$(Tumor cell necrosis $fector-{\alpha}$) and PKC(Protein kinase C) activity was measured after exposure to hypoxia and treatment of YHTWE. Also the neuroprotective effect of YHTWE was researched for the elucidatioion of neuroprotective mechanism. The results were as follows; 1. Hypoxia decreased cell viability measured by XTT, NR assay when cultured cerebral neurons were exposed to 95% N2/5% CO2 for $2{\sim}26$ minutes in these cultures and YHTWE inhibited the decrease of cell viability. 2. H2O2 treatment decreased cell viability measured by MTT, and SRB assay when cultured cerebral neurons were exposed to 1-80 ${\mu}M$ for 6 hours, but YHTWE inhibited the decrease of cell viability. 3. Hypoxia decreased catalase and SOD activity, and also $TNF-{\alpha}$ and PKC activity in these cultured cerebral neurons, but YHTWE inhibited the decrease of the catalase and SOD activity in these cultures. 4. Hypoxia triggered the apoptosis via caspase activation and internucleosomal DNA fragmentation. Also hypoxia stimulate the release of cytochrome c forom mitochondria. YHTWE inhibited the apoptosis via caspase activation induced by hypoxia. From these results, it can be suggested that brain ischemia model induced hypoxia showed neurotoxicity on cultured mouse cerebral neurons, and the YHTWE has the neuroprotective effect in blocking the neurotoxicity induced by hypoxia in cultured mouse cerebral neurons.

      • 진전환자 24례에 대한 증례 보고

        To study clinical characteristics of patients complained of the tremor, I analyzed a database of twenty four patients managed at the Sasang Constitutional Department in Wonkwang University Oriental Medical Hospiyal from June 1999 to October 2000. 54% of patients who had adequate follow-up were improved with herb medication, electric acupuncture, physical therapy, aromatherapy. 46% of them were not improved in spite of above mentioned treatment. None of patients was aggravated. 71 % of them have male sex and 42% in 7th decade. The distribution ratio was 46% Soyang Constitution, 42% Taeumin Constitution, 13% Soum Constitution. I diagnosed 75% of them as essential tremor or physiological tremor or neurosis. Most of them had the tremor in upper extremities. The period of history were various distribution. Herb medicines were used in the Sasang Constitutional Theory. The Sasang Constitutional Medicine has the significant effects of treating patients complained of the tremor..
