This study is to explore the role of teachers experienced in the dramatic play with young children. Twenty children aged 4 years old at the public kindergarten in S city were participated in this study. The period of study was a total of 10 weeks from May 13 to July 15, 2019. The dramatic play was performed twice a week for about 40 minutes. During the study, a variety of data including voice recording, photographs, videos, transcribed records, observed records, researcher journals and discussion records were collected and analyzed. In addition, feedbacks from peer researchers and early childhood education specialists were obtained and the final results were drawn through 6 times of reflux process. The research results are as follows. First, depending on the situation, the teacher should be flexible so that children take an active part in dramatic play. Second, detailed observation for children and proper participation by teacher are required in the whole play. Third, teacher should provide opportunities for children to think about what they have experienced through dramatic play. As such, a number of efforts of teacher are required in the process of planning, conducting and evaluation the dramatic play. However, we found that teachers as well as children are learners in the dramatic play. In addition, we discovered that dramatic play has many educational values, in terms of development, such as enhancing communication, imagination, perspective taking ability and sympathy.
