Purpose: To investigate the effect of nurses’ emotional labor on their turnover intention that was mediated by burnout and to examine the moderated mediation effect of authentic leadership. Methods: A total of 227 nurses working at two general hospitals in Seoul were recruited from March 21 to May 6 in 2016. Emotional labor including surface acting and deep acting; burnout factors such as emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment; and turnover intention were assessed. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro. Results: Surface acting significantly increased emotional exhaustion and reduced personal accomplishment. Deep acting significantly increased personal accomplishment. Emotional exhaustion significantly increased turnover intention. Conversely, personal accomplishment significantly reduced turnover intention. Surface acting had an indirect effect on turnover intention that was mediated by emotional exhaustion. Deep acting had an indirect effect on turnover intention that was mediated by personal accomplishment. Authentic leadership had a moderated mediation effect on the relationship between surface acting and turnover intention that was mediated by emotional exhaustion. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that the establishment of strong authentic leadership by head nurses would help nurses reduce their burnout and turnover intention. Conducting intervention studies would be also important to promote better work environments that would enable nurses to fortify the positive aspect of emotional labor and to reduce their burnout levels.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the actor and partner effects of self efficacy, marital adjustment and family support on Yangseang in infertile couples using the actor-partner interdependence model. Methods: The participants were 108 infertile couples. Data were collected using the Yangsaeng Scale, Infertility Self Efficacy Scale, Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale, and Perceived Social Support Scale from March to April in 2016. The Actor-Partner Interdependence Model was used to analyze the actor and partner effects of self-efficacy, marital adjustment and family support on Yangsaeng. Results: The fit indices for the model were Comparative Fit Index (CFI) = 0.99, Normed Fit Index (NFI) = 0.99, Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI) = 0.90, and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.01, which met the criteria. We found that only self efficacy had an actor effect on Yangsaeng. Marital adjustment and family support of infertile husbands had an actor effect on the Yangsaeng. In addition, marital adjustment showed an interaction effect. Conclusions: The findings of this study indicate that the level of Yangseang in infertile couples was positively associated with the levels of self efficacy and martial adjustment. Partner effects may be hidden due to much stronger actor effects on Yangseang.

Purpose: To investigate the degree and relationship of the quality of life(QOL) and family burden in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation recipients(HSCTr) at admission and discharge to isolation unit. Method: Data were obtained by interviewing from 60 HSCTr and 50 of their primary caregivers' and were analyzed by SAS program. Result: The degree of quality of life in pre and post HSCTr was significantly lower in the group who had physical discomfort compared with those who had no physical discomfort. The mean score of quality of life in pre HSCTr was significantly lower compared with in post HSCTr. Objective burden of family was higher than subjective one. Conclusion: QOL in HSCTr showed lower in the group of who had medical history, physical discomfort, no hope for cure and more than 5 weeks of length of stay. On the basis of<br/> these results, it is necessary to develop nursing intervention and to apply nursing care for improving their quality of life.
