        동해 울진 연안의 어류 자치어 종조성과 계절변동

        This study investigated the temporal patterns of species composition and abundance of larval fish assemblages through seasonal samplings in the coastal waters off Uljin, East Sea from April 2022 to February 2023. A total of 27 taxa of larval fishes were collected in the study area. The dominant fish larvae were Pseudopleuronectes herzensteini, Sebastes inermis, Ammodytes japonicus, Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae, Rudarius ercodes and Parablennius yatabei constituting 86.6% of total larval fish abundance. The number of species, abundance, and diversity index fluctuated according to season, showing the highest species number and abundance in April (spring) and diversity in July (summer). Larval fish assemblages were divided into three seasonal groups, including spring, summer and winter groups based on relative abundance of each fish larvae. Among abundant fish larvae, P. herzensteini predominated during spring, while P. yatabei and R. ercodes were abundant during summer. S. inermis, A. japonicus and P. yokohamae constituted the most abundant larval fish group during winter. These temporal changes in larval fish assemblages were attributed to seasonal changes in surface water temperature. The results from this study may elucidate our understanding of larval fish diversity and contribute to evaluating the nursery function of coastal habitats in the East Sea.

        위내용물 분석과 안정동위원소 분석을 이용한 겨울철 동해 북부 연안에 출현하는 명태 (Gadus chalcogrammus)와 대구 (G. macrocephalus)의 먹이분할 연구

        This study investigated dietary habits and intra- and inter-specific food resource partitioning of co-occurring walleye pollock (Gadus chalcogrammus) and Pacific cod (G. macrocephalus) from the waters off the north-eastern coast of South Korea using stomach contents and stable isotopes (δ<sup>13</sup>C and δ<sup>15</sup>N) analyses. Both species are mesopelagic carnivores that consumed mainly benthopelagic crustaceans, but teleosts were also abundant in the diet of Pacific cod. Non-metric multidimensional scaling (nMDS) ordination and permutational multivariate analysis of variance (PERMANOVA) of dietary data revealed significant intra- and inter-specific dietary differences, i.e., food resource partitioning. Nitrogen stable isotope values (δ<sup>15</sup>N) were similar between walleye pollock and Pacific cod, but carbon stable isotope values (δ<sup>13</sup>C) were significant different, suggesting different trophic positioning. Canonical analysis of principal coordinate (CAP) ordination plot further demonstrated that differences in the type and range of prey ingested by the two species contributed such an inter-specific difference in the diet compositions. Ontogenetic changes in diet compositions were evident. As walleye pollock, they preyed more upon carid shrimps and cephalopods, but no such trend was observed in the diets of Pacific cod. While stable isotope values indicated that large-sized specimens of both species were significantly enriched in 15N relative to smaller conspecifics thus supporting these data. Consequently, in this study, both methodologies, i.e., stomach contents and stable isotope analyses, provided evidence of inter- and/or intra-specific dietary segregations and trophic niche partitioning between co-occurring walleye pollock and Pacific cod off eastern Korean waters.

        동해 남부 연안해역 통발에서 채집된 어류 군집의 계절변동과 연간변동

        The seasonal and interannual variation in the species composition and abundance of the fish assemblage were studied. Fish samples were collected seasonally over 4 year (2005 to 2008) using pots in the southern coast of East Sea. During the study period, a total of 32 fish species belonging to 24 families were collected. The dominant species were Conger myriaster, Paracentropogon rubripinnis, Liparis tanakae, Parapercis sexfasciata, Eptatretus burgeri and Clupea pallasii pallasii, which accounted for 91.9% of the total number of individuals collected. The number of species, number of individuals, biomass, and diversity fluctuated with season. The peak number of species and number of individuals occurred were in August 2008, whereas the biomass was the highest in August 2005 and diversity was in May 2008. The abundance of dominant species also showed some seasonal and interannual changes. A one-way analysis of similarity (ANOSIM) showed that the fish assemblage in 2008 was significantly different from those of 2005, 2006 and 2007, whereas there was no significant difference among seasons over 4 years.

        동해 울진 연안의 어류 자치어 종조성과 계절변동

        본 연구는 동해 울진 연안 10개 정점에서 계절별(2022년 4월, 7월, 10월, 2023년 2월)로 Ring net를 이용하여 채집한 자치어 종조성의 계절변동을 조사하였다. 총 27개 분류군에 속하는 자치어가 채집되었다. 어류 자치어 우점종은 참가자미(Pseudopleuronectes herzensteini), 볼락(Sebastes inermis), 까나리(Ammodytes japonicus), 문치가자미(Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae), 그물코쥐치 (Rudarius ercodes), 청베도라치(Parablennius yatabei)였고 상기 6종은 전체 자치어 현존량의 86.6%를 차지하였다. 자치어 출현종수, 현존량, 다양도지수는 계절에 따라 변하였는데, 출현종수와 현존량은 4월(춘계)에 가장 높았고, 다양도지수는 7월(하계)에 가장 높았다. 조사해역에서 자치어 군집의 계절별 출현양상에 따라 춘계, 하계, 동계 그룹을 구분할 수 있었다. 우점종 중 참가자미는 춘계에 우점하였고, 청베도라치와 그물코쥐치는 하계에 우점하였다. 그리고 볼락, 까나리, 문치가자미는 동계에 현존량이 높았다. 이러한 자치어 군집의 시간적 변동은 계절에 따른 수온 차이에 영향을 받았던 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구 결과는 동해에서 어류 자치어 다양성을 밝히고 연안해역의 산란장 기능을 평가하는 데 기여할 것으로 생각된다.         여름철 낙동강 하구역 해빈 쇄파대에서 출현하는 누치(Hemibarbus labeo) 미성어의 위내용물

        본 연구는 여름철 낙동강 하구역 해빈 쇄파대에서 누치 유어의 출현양상, 위내용물 조성, 체장과 주야간 위내용물 조성의 차이를 조사하였다. 시료는 2014년 주야간에 낙동강 하구역 해빈 쇄파대의 2개 정점에서 지인망으로 8월에 채집된 67개체를 이용하였다. 여기서 채집된 개체의 체장은 5.1에서 9.7 cm의 범위를 보였다. 누치는 단각류를 주로 섭식하는 육식성으로 어류였으며, 그 외 어류와 갯지렁이류 그리고 새우류 등을 부가적으로 섭식하였다. 누치는 크기에 따라 식성변화를 보여, 가장 작은 크기군(< 6.4 cm SL)의 개체들은 단각류를 주로 섭식하였던 반면, 체장이 증가할수록 단각류 대신 어류의 비중이 증가하였다. 주야에 따라서는 주간에는 단각류와 갯지렁이류를 주로 섭식하였고, 야간에는 어류를 주로 섭식하였다

        eDNA 분석을 위한 황해 주요 수산자원의 CO1 염기서열 분석

        Ocean change due to anthropogenic activities and climate change are causing a decline in coldwater fish species and emergence of subtropical fish species in Korean waters. Therefore, environmental change-dependent time-space distribution of fishery resources in Korea, which has a big fisheries industry, needs to be investigated. Environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding is an environmentally noninvasive method for understanding the spatiotemporal distribution of marine organisms at high spatial resolution. The highly variable cytochrome oxidase-1 (CO1) gene is used in eDNA studies for species identification across diverse taxa. However, it exhibits genetic differences depending on geographical distribution. For improving the accuracy of eDNA research, the CO1 database should be expanded by incorporating sequence information for individuals inhabiting the Korean seas. Here, 106 biological samples from the Yellow Sea were identified morphologically and their nucleotide sequences were compared with those in the GenBank. Most sequences were 100% identical with those in the GenBank. In most samples, the morphological and molecular identification results were consistent, indicating the utility of CO1. However, some nucleotide sequences differed from those in the database. Amino acid sequences translated from nucleotide sequences with less than 97% similarity showed high similarity to the amino acid database, indicating intraspecies variation due to "silent mutations". These results highlight the need for a sequence database of fishery resources in Korean coastal waters to improve the reliability of eDNA studies using CO1. However, because of the same CO1 sequences in several species, genetic markers need to be developed and the database should be supplemented with more sequences for reliable high-resolution eDNA studies.

        거문도 주변해역에서 출현하는 말쥐치(Thamnaconus modestus)의 식성

        The feeding habits f black scraper, Thamnaconus modestus, were studied using 172 specimens collected in the coastal waters of Geomun do, Korea, The size of the specimens ranged from 16.2 to 39.1 cm in standard length (SL).T. modestus was a omnivore that consumes mainly benthos. Of the benthos species nephtheidae was the most preferred prey. Its diet also includes, algae, thoracica, gastropoda, desmospongia.Small and medium size individuals (<21~33cm, SL) fed mainly on nephtheidae and algae. Larger individuals (>33cm, SL) fed mainly on thoracica. The proportion of nephtheidae decreased as body size increased (>33cm, SL), whereas the consumption of thoracica gradually increased.

        가덕도 주변해역에 출현하는 주둥치의 위내용물 조성

        The diet composition of Leiognathus nuchalis were studied using 350 specimens col-lected from October 2010 to September 2011 in the coastal waters of Gadeok-do, Korea. L. nuchalis was carnivorous feeder that consumed mainly copepods, crab larvae, and shrimp larvae. Its diet also included small quantities of polychaetes, amphipods, euphausiids, bivalve larvae, and gastropod larvae. The size of L. nuchalis ranged from 3.0 to 9.8 cm in body length (BL). L. nuchalis underwent an ontogenetic dietary shift. 3~5 cm size individuals fed mainly on copepods. 5~7 cm size individuals fed mainly crab larvae and shrimp larvae. 8~10 cm size individuals fed mainly polychaetes. The size increases, the weight of food organisms are constantly increased.

        진해 잠도 주변 암반해역의 어류상

        The seasonal variations in species composition and abundance of the fish assemblage were studied in the rocky subtidal habitat around the Jam-do, Jinhae. Fish samples were collected monthly from September 2007 to July 2008 using a pot. During study, a total of 48 fish species belonging to 24 families were collected. The dominant species were Sebastes longispinis, Pseudoblennius cottoides, Sebastes inermis, Rudarius ercodes, Ditrema temminckii, Ernogrammus hexagrammus, which accounted for 71.0% of the total number of individuals collected. The number of species, number of individuals, biomass and diversity greatly fluctuated showing a peak in the number of species, number of individuals and species diversity in autumn, whereas the biomass was the highest in spring. Abundance of dominant species varied with season. S. longispinis was abundant during spring and summer, while the abundance of P. cottoides was higher during autumn and spring. S. inermis occurred with high number in September, December and May, whereas R. ercodes occurred exclusively during autumn.

        마산만에 출현하는 난자치어 종조성과 출현량의 시공간 변동

        A total of 4 pelagic eggs and 24 larval fish species were collected in Masan Bay. Engraulis japonicus eggs predominated in pelagic eggs. Abundant larval fishes were Omobranchus elegans, Scomber japonicus, Acanthogobius flavimanus, Hexagrammos otakii, Repomucenus sp., Scartella cristata and Gobiidae sp., and these 7 species accounted for 78.5% in the total number of individuals. Temporal and spatial variation in both species composition and abundance of was large: the peak abundances of pelagic eggs and larval fishes occurred in July 2007, whilst these were lowest in February 2007. Higher abundance of ichtyoplankton were at station 5 than those of other stations. Temporal changes in the abundances of pelagic eggs and larval fishes corresponded with temperature. Pelagic eggs and larval fishes varied among stations between with shallower inner stations and deeper outer stations with physical characteristics such as depth and local topography.
