With the mounting oil price, there has been a continuous research to improve power and fuel economy on vehicles. As a result GDI (Gasoline direct Injecton) engine came up but it has disadvantage in terms of nano particle emission compare to conventional PFI (Port Fuel Injection) engines. By replacing gasoline to LPG fuel, nano-particle from the vehicle decrease. This study focuses on the nano-particle characteristics at the engine control variables on LPG-DI (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Direct Injection) engine, based on a wall-guided 2.4L gasoline direct injection engine. LPG-DI engine did not have obvious particle emission changes with engine control variables. At 2000 rpm/BMEP 2.0 bar engine operating condition, the total particle number did not change with air fuel ratio and nano-particle mostly exist at nucleation mode.

This study investigates the time resolved total hydrocarbon (THC) and nano-particle emissions characteristics of liquid phase LPG direct injection (LPG-DI) engines, based on 2.4L gasoline direct injection engine, during the cold start and during fast idle operation state. The fuel supply system of commercial GDI engine is reworked to a return type liquid phase LPG fuel injection system. The LPG tank with low pressure BLDC pump and pressure regulator were installed in the engine. Engine operation variables of GDI engine were calibrated to optimal value for LPG fuel. To improve the engine-out THC as well as nano-particle emissions and catalyst light-off behavior during the cold start phase, the effect of various spark timings and excess air ratio were investigated using a fast response THC analyzer, combustion analyzer, and differential mobility spectrometer (DMS500).

This study is focused on engine performance and emission characteristics from a side mounted LPG-DI (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Direct Injection) engine, based on 2.4L gasoline direct injection engine. The fuel supply system of commercial GDI engine is reworked to a return type liquid phase LPG fuel injection system. The LPG tank with low pressure BLDC pump and pressure regulator were installed in the engine. Engine operation variables of GDI engine were calibrated to optimal value for LPG fuel. Regulated emission (THC, CO, CO<SUB>2</SUB>, NOx) from LPG-DI engine were analyzed of various engine performance.

뇌충격시험은 시험시간이 많이 소요되는 반면, 시험조건에 따라 정해진 시험횟수 만큼 시험진압충전, 측정시작, 시험진행, 시험파형저장을 반복하는 단순시험이다. PT&T에서는 이러한 단순반복시험을 무인으로 시험할 수 있는 자동시험설비를 자체적으로 개발함으로써 시험처리능력과 시험효율을 크게 향상시켰다. 또한, 개정중인 IEC 규격에서 명시한 시험변수계산절차에 따라 시험변수를 계산하는 프로그램을 새로 개발하고 유럽시험소의 순회비교시험결과와 비교하여 개발 프로그램의 성능을 입증하였다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 개발 내용을 소개하고자 한다.
