Because of the high cost for the active power filter, passive filters have been widly used to eliminate harmonic currents of nonlinear load and can also improve the power factor. They are not often optimal filters because the passive filters are designed under the fixed load conditions. In this paper we proposed the method which only the necessary harmonic filters are operated by detecting the various harmonic current components. We presents the new control method of passive filter selection type with the relay control circuit which is consist of analog GIC, comparater, flip-flop and etc. By the experimental results using the proposed system for the rectifier load, we concluded that the researched method is cost effective and the performance is better than the passive filter.

포트 콘덕턴스가 서로 독립적인 CGIC의 디지탈 구조를 APF를 이용하여 네 종류로 구분하여 실현하였다. 포트 콘덕턴스에 의해서 결정되는 곱셈계수의 양자화 과정에서 발생되는 출력잡음식을 유도하여 해석함으로써 각각의 성능을 비교하여 적용방법을 설명하였다. Making use of APF(All Pass Filter), four kinds of digital CGIC(Current-coversion Generalized Immittance Coverter) configurations have been realized, which have independent port conductances respectively. By according to hardware requirements and quantization noises generated at CGIC output due to the roundoff of the multiplier, thier performances have been compared with one another and their application method is illustrated.

로켓 엔진의 2축 회전 운동을 구현하기 위한 짐벌마운트는 높은 구조 강도와 강성, 낮은 베어링 마찰토크, 연소시간 동안의 충분한 수명 등의 요구조건들을 기준으로 개발된다. 여러 요구조건들에 대한 만족 여부는 부품 개발단계에서 검증되어야 하며, 이를 위한 적절한 시험 방법 및 절차의 수립은 성공적인 부품 개발과 발사 성공을 위해 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 요구조건을 기반으로 개발된 로켓 엔진용 짐벌마운트의 적합성을 검증하고 그 규격을 확인하기 위한 개발시험 방법들을 제시한다. A gimbal mount for the two-axis gimbaling motions of the rocket engine requires high structural strength, high stiffness, low bearing friction torque and enough life cycle to guarantee its safe operation during the full duration of combustion. It has to be verified if the gimbal mount is developed satisfactory to the requirements at the component development phase. For this reason, to set up proper test methods and procedure is significant. This paper proposes the development test methods for the gimbal mount of the rocket engine to check and confirm its specifications based on the development requirements.

We perform molecular dynamics and quasi continuum simulations of nanoindentations with emphasis on the incipient plasticity and dislocation-loop glides. The effects of indenter tip size, indenting speed and film thickness are investigated in relation with defect evolution inside the ultra-thin film. Furthermore, the molecular dynamics simulations of mechanical nanolithography by surface scratching are also presented. It has been found that vacancy is the major residual defect profile in surface modification by AFM-tip ploughing.
주파수 변조 기법을 이용하여 음향공명 현상을 제거한 1[kW] 메탈 핼라이드 램프용 전자식 안정기 개발

본 논문은 주파수 변조 기법을 도입하여 메탈 핼라이드 램프의 음향공명 현상을 제거한 수동 PFC 구조의 전자식 안정기를 설계 및 구현하였다. 제안하는 안정기는 EMI 필터, 수동 PFC 회로, 풀 브리지 인버터 및 LC 공진 타입의 점화기, 그리고 음향공명 현상을 제거하기 위한 회로로 구성되었다. 주파수 변조 기법의 도입으로 단일 주파수 구동시 문제점이였던 램프의 수명 경과에 따른 음향공명 대역이 변화와 동일한 크기의 방전관이라도 램프 제조 사마다 아크 튜브 내부에 봉입되는 물질과 압력차에 의한 음향공명 대역의 차이를 해결하였다. 개발된 prototype 1[kW] 메탈 핼라이드 램프용 전자식 안정기의 광변환 효율, 입력 PF, 입력 전류의 THD, 그리고 전력 변환 효율을 측정함으로써 성능을 입증하였다. This paper presents the design and imelementation of an electronic ballast with a passive PFC structure from which acoustic resonance of the metal halide lamp was removed by introducing the frequency modulation(FM) method. The proposed ballast consists of an EMI filter, passive PFC circuit full-bridge inverter, LC resonance type igniter and a circuit for removing acoustic resonance. The FM method solved two problems associated with single frequency driving: variation of the acoustic resonance range according to lamp aging and the acoustic resonance range discrepancy caused by different materials sealed inside the arc tube and their pressures for arc tubes of identical sizes from different manufacturers. Performance of the prototype developed for this study of the electronic ballast for 1[kW] metal halide lamp was verified by evaluating its optical conversion efficiency, input PF, input current THD and power conversion efficiency.

We present a coarse-graining computation for deformations of CNTs (carbon nanotubes) via nonlocal QC (quasicontinuum), particularly targeting analysis of multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Higher order triangular elements are utilized for proper interpolation of atom positions of the CNT on the basis of QC approach. The computing scheme enables one to differentiate between the fully atomistic zone and the coarse-grained zone in the framework of the multiscale computation. Several numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the present methodology.
음향 공명 현상을 제거한 MHL용 고출력 전자식 안정기 설계

This paper presents a high-power electronic ballast for a metal-hallide lamp(MHL) that employs frequency modulation(FM) technique to eliminate acoustic resonance(AR). The proposed ballast consists of a full-bridge rectifier, a power factor correction(PFC) circuit, a full-bridge(FB) inverter, an ignitor using LC resonance and an FM control circuit. Whereas a manual PFC provides advantages in terms of high reliability and low cost for constructing the circuit, it is difficult to supply a stable voltage because of the output voltage ripple that occurs with a period of 120㎐. Although the ballast can be designed with a small size and a light weight if it is driven at a switching frequency between 1 and 100 ㎑, AR will occur if the eigen-value frequency of the lamp coincides with the inverter's operation frequency. The operation frequency was modulated in real time according to the output voltage ripple to compensate for the variation in power supplied to the lamp and eliminate AR. Performance of the proposed technique was validated through numerical analysis, computer simulation using PSPICE and by applying it to an electronic ballast for a prototype 1㎾ MHL.

Dual Buck Inverter 구조를 갖는 35W 세라믹 MHL용 전자식 안정기의 제어회로를 설계하였다. 제어회로는 크게 2가지로 나눌 수 있는데 PFC IC를 이용하여 Inverter의 전압과 전류를 센싱하여 80㎑로 Inverter를 구동하기 위한 제어부분과 시간의 경과에 따른 PFC의 출력 전압 제어, Ignition Pulse 제어 및 무부하 보호, 램프의 점등 상태에 따른 Inverter 구동 주파수 제어부분으로 구성되어 있다. 본 논문은 마이크로 컨트롤러(ATmega8)를 이용하여 시간의 경과에 따른 안정기의 제어부분에 대해 설명하고 이를 실험을 통해 검증하였다.
