        질화 표면처리된 신장기를 이용한 수평적 치조골신장술 후 임플란트 식립시 골유착 효과에 관한 연구

        This study evaluated whether there is a difference between a conventional titanium distraction device and a TiN-coated device in terms of implant osseointegration after horizontal distraction osteogenesis in narrow alveolar bone. Four adult mongrel dogs, each weighing $9{\sim}10kg$, were used in this study. The lower premolars were extracted and horizontal distraction was performed with conventional titanium distraction devices (group 1) or TiN-coated devices (group 2). After an 8-week consolidation period, the implants were installed, and the dogs were sacrificed after another 8 weeks. The osseointegration around the implants was evaluated histomorphologically. There was one failure in experimental group 1 because of fracture of the device. Direct bone contact was achieved and there were no significant differences between the control group and experimental groups 1 and 2 in terms of osseointegration around the implants at 8 weeks. In summary, intraoral distraction osteogenesis is a good option for augmenting severely atrophied alveolar ridges, and the TiN-coated device may be useful because of its advantages, which include surface hardness, corrosion resistance, and reduced bacteria.

        반안면 왜소증 환자에서의 골신장술: 증례보고

        Distraction osteogenesis(DO) is a surgical method of bone formation that involves an osteotomy and sequential stretching of the healing callus by gradual movement and subsequent remodeling. DO is used to correct facial asymmetry, such as in patients with hemifacial microsomia, maxillary or mandibular retrusion, cleft lip and palate, alveolar defects, and craniofacial deficiency. It is accomplished with the aid of a distraction device, which is secured with screws placed directly into bone, for a predetermined length of time. Hemifacial microsomia is characterized by unilateral facial hypoplasia, often with unilateral shortening of the mandible and subsequent malocclusion. Patients with hemifacial microsomia and facial asymmetry have a vertically short maxilla, tilted occlusal plane, and short mandible. Early treatment is necessary to avoid subsequent impaired midfacial growth. The standard treatment of these malformations consists of the application of bone grafts, which can lead to unpredictable growth. The new bone-lengthening procedure represents a limited surgical intervention and opens up a new perspective for treatment, especially in younger children with severe deformities. This report describes a case of hemifacial microsomia(Type-II left-sided hemifacial microsomia). The patient, a 10-year-old child, visited our clinic for facial asymmetry correction. He had a hypoplastic mandible, displaced ear lobe, 10 mm canting on the right side, and malocclusion. We planned DO to lengthen the left mandible in conjunction with a Le Fort I osteotomy for decanting and then perform a right intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy(IVRO). Progressive distraction at a rate of 0.5 mm/12 hours was initiated 7 days postoperatively. The duration of DO was 17 days. The consolidation period was 3 months. Satisfactory results were obtained in our case, indicating that DO can be used successfully for functional, aesthetic reconstruction of the mandible. We report a case involving DO in conjunction with orthognathic surgery for correcting mandibular hypoplasia with a review of the literature.

        성견에서 거친 표면을 가지는 임플란트에서 골형성에 관한 조직형태계측학적인 평가

        This study evaluated the influence of smooth and brushite-coated implant surfaces in dogs. The first through fourth mandibular premolars were extracted from eight young adult dogs. Twelve weeks after extraction. implantation was performed at the extraction sites. In total, 40 implant fixtures were implanted in the dog mandibles. Twenty machined implants served as controls and twenty brushite-coated surfaces served as tests. Dogs were sacrificed 2 and 4 weeks after implantation. The hemi-mandibles were obtained and processed histologically to obtain non-decalcified sections. Longitudinal sections of each implant were made and analyzed using light microscopy. The overall implant success rate was 83.3%. Histomorphometrically. the experimental group had a better percentage of bone-implant contact than the control group (p<0.05) and there was a significant difference between the 2- and 4-week groups after implantation (p<0.05) Our results suggest that the implant surface morphology influences the increase in peri-implant osteogenesis in the early period of peri-implant healing.

        이온성 액체를 이용한 메탄 하이드레이트 생성 촉진효과 연구

        본 연구에서는 가스 하이드레이트 생성 시 첨가된 이온성 액체가 미치는 생성속도의 향상효과를 조사하였다. 이온성 액체로는 Hydroxyethyl-methyl-morpholinium chloride (HEMM-Cl)을 사용하였다. 메탄 하이드레이트의 상평형 곡선을 구하고 생성유도시간과 메탄가스의 소모량을 측정하였다. 20∼20,000 ppm의 HEMM-Cl을 준비하여 하이드레이트가 생성될 수 있는 70 bar, 274.15 K 조건에서 실험을 수행하였다. 하이드레이트 생성 속도에 대한 비교를 위해 순수한 물과 대표적인 촉진제인 sodium dodecyl sulfate를 같은 조건에서 실험하였다. 실험 결과, 이온성 액체인 HEMMCl은 상평형 곡선을 더 높은 압력과 낮은 온도 쪽으로 이동시켰다. 이온성 액체의 첨가 시에는 메탄 하이드레이트의 생성유도시간이 거의 나타나지 않는 것을 알 수 있었다. 메탄가스의 소모량은 모든 농도에서 향상되었고 1,000 ppm에서 가장 많은 양의 가스를 흡수하는 것으로 나타났다. 이온성 액체는 가스 하이드레이트 생성 촉진을 유도하는 것으로 나타났으며 가스저장, 수송 등의 응용기술 개발에 적용이 기대된다. In this study, we investigated the kinetics of gas hydrate formation in the presence of ionic liquid (IL). Hydroxyethyl-methyl-morpholinium chloride (HEMM-Cl) was chosen as a material for the promotion effect test. Phase equilibrium curve for CH4 hydrate with aqueous IL solution was obtained and its induction time and consumed amount of CH4 gas were also measured. Aqueous solutions containing 20∼20,000 ppm of HEMM-Cl was prepared and studied at 70 bar and 274.15 K. To compare the measured results to those of the conventional promoter, sodium dodecyl sulfate was also tested at the same condition. Result showed that the hydrate equilibrium curve was shifted toward higher pressure and lower temperature region. In addition, the induction time on CH4 hydrate formation in the presence of IL was not shown. The amount of consumed CH4 was increased with the whole range of tested concentration of IL and the highest consumption of CH4 happened at 1,000 ppm of HEMM-Cl. HEMM-Cl induced and enhanced the CH4 hydrate formation with a small amount of addition. Obtained result is expected to be applied for the development of technologies such as gas storage and transport using gas hydrates.

        단신 : 활성탄에서의 아세트산 흡착거동 연구

        본 연구에서는 활성탄을 흡착제로 사용하여 아세트산의 흡착 평형 실험을 313.15, 323.15 K에서 수행하였다. 아세트산의 흡착평형 데이터를 Langmuir, Bi-Langmuir, Freundlich model로부터의 계산 결과와 비교하였다. 이 과정에서 각 model 내 isotherm parameter는 실험값과 계산값의 차이의 제곱의 합을 최소화하는 방식으로 결정하였다. 비교 결과활성탄상에서의 아세트산의 흡착평형 데이터를 가장 잘 설명해주는 model은 Bi-Langmuir model이었음을 확인하였다. In this study, the adsorption equilibria of acetic acid on activated carbon were investigated at the temperatures of 313.15 K and 323.15 K. The obtained adsorption data were then fitted by Langmuir, Bi-Langmuir, and Freundlich models, in which the relevant model parameters were determined by minimizing the sum of the squares of deviations between experimental data and calculated values. The comparison results revealed that Bi-Langmuir model could account for the adsorption equilibrium data of acetic acid with the highest accuracy among the three adsorption models considered.

        전자빔을 이용한 Poly(dimethyl siloxane)의 개질

        본 연구에서는 전자빔을 이용하여 poly(dimethyl siloxane)(PDMS)을 개질하였으며 그 특성 변화를 분석하였다. PDMS 시트를 기존의 열경화법을 통해 제조한 후 20에서 200 kGy의 흡수선량으로 전자빔을 조사하였고, 조사된 시트들의 특성을 팽윤도 및 접촉각 측정, 만능시험분석기(UTM), 열중량분석기(TGA), X선 광전자 분광기(XPS)들을 이용하여 분석하였다. 팽윤도 측정, UTM 및 TGA 결과, 전자빔 조사에 의해 PDMS 시트의 가교 밀도가 증가함에 따라 조사된 PDMS 시트의 팽윤도는 순수한 것에 비해 최대 24%까지 감소하였고 압축강도와 열분해온도는 순수한 것에 대비 각각 최대 2.5 MPa와 10 ℃까지 증가함을 확인하였다. 또한, 접촉각 측정과 XPS 분석 결과를 토대로 전자빔 조사에 의한 산화 반응에 의하여 PDMS 표면에 친수성 관능기들이 형성되기 때문에 PDMS 표면의 젖음성은 순수한 것에 비해 최대 24%까지 향상됨을 확인하였다. In this paper, poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) was modified using electron beam irradiation and its property was investigated. PDMS sheets prepared using a conventional thermal curing method were irradiated by electron beams at absorbed doses between 20 and 200 kGy and their properties were characterized using swelling degree and contact angle measurements, universal testing machine (UTM), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS). The results of the swelling degree measurements, UTM, and TGA revealed that the swelling degree of the irradiated PDMS sheets was reduced down to 24% in comparison to the control sheet, and their compression strength and thermal decomposition temperature increased up to maximum 2.5 MPa and 10 ℃, respectively, due to the increase in crosslinking density by irradiation. In addition, on the basis of the results of contact angle measurements and XPS, the wettability of the PDMS sheets was enhanced up to 24% owing to the generation of hydrophilic functional groups on the PDMS surface by oxidation during electron beam irradiation.
