In this study, we prepared carbon fiber (CF)-polyaniline (PANi) nanocomposite via an in situ polymerization technique. In the beginning, carbon fiber mats, which were applied as substrates for supercapacitors, were obtained from new precursors, poly(acrylonitrile-co-crotonic acid) and poly(acrylonitrile-co-itaconic acid-co-crotonic acid). The carbonized fiber mats were used as substrates for in situ polymerization of polyaniline. The electrochemical studies revealed that the PANi/CFs exhibited a maximum specific capacitance of 113 F/g.
Polyaniline-decorated kenaf-derived three-dimensional porous carbon materials for supercapacitors

Kenaf-derived three-dimensional (3D) porous carbon (PC) is considered to be a promising low-cost supporting material for application in energy storage devices. In this work, a facile approach was applied to prepare the porous structured PC/PANI with nanostructured PANI and high porous kenaf. Such porous structures of the PC provided a conductive network to enhance the charge transport and mass transfer in the electrochemical process. Firstly, we carbonized kenaf stem, NaOH retted kenaf, and enzyme retted kenaf to obtain the PC, then, PANI was synthesized by in-situ polymerizations with the existence of PC. The high porous structures of PC were confirmed by SEM images. The SEM images of PANI/Kenaf demonstrated that the PANI formed a fibrous structure on the surface of the porous kenaf. The electrochemical properties of PC/PANI shows good electrochemical activity and also showed a higher specific capacitance value than PC material.

In this work, the flexible and transparent conductive nylon nanofiber reinforced cellulose acetate films were prepared by a facile method, including vacuum filtration and mold transferring techniques. The flexible nylon nanofiber-reinforced cellulose acetate thin films were used as a transparent substrate for layer-by-layer (LBL), spin coating build-up of conductive coating using PANi, PEDOT: PSS, functionalized CNTs, noble metals, etc. The conductivity and optical transmittance of conductive LBL, spin coated electrodes were investigated. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to systematically investigate the structure, morphology and electrochemical behavior of the flexible thin film.

폴리프로필렌카보네이트(Polypropylene carbonate, PPC)는 44% 이상의 CO<sub>2</sub>와 석유 화합물 56%의 프로필렌옥사이드(Propylene oxide)를 촉매(catalyst)와 함께 넣어 중합하여 만들어 지는 합성 고분자이다. 친환경적인 소재인 반면, 다른 석유를 원료로 한 플라스틱의 물성 중 열 안전성 및 기계적 특성이 상당히 낮은 단점이 있기 때문에, 물성개선을 위한 많은 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 PPC의 나노섬유화 및 물성 개선을 위한 polylactide (PLA) 또는 탄소나노튜브(carbon nanotubes) 함유한 복합나노섬유의 제조 및 열적·기계적 특성변화를 고찰하였다. 본 연구에서는 PPC 나노섬유를 열처리하여 그에 따른 모폴로지 및 기계적 특성변화를 고찰하였다. 또한 얻어진PPC 나노섬유웹의 기계적 물성 개선을 위한 열처리 효과 및 PPC/PLA 복합나노 섬유웹의 세포배양 효과를 살펴보았다.

Poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) is of particular interest, since it is highly soluble in water, biocompatible, easy to process, and optically transparent. However, in order to use in the area of biomedical application, the stability of PVA should be controlled in aqueous media, such as by crosslinking either chemically or physically. Electrospinning is a versatile technique for production of fibers having diameter ranging from sub-micro-to nano-meter with high surface area. In this study, we attempt to introduce new PVA/poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) composite hydrogel nanofibers incorporating polyhedral oligosilsesquioxane (POSS) prepared by electrospinning followed by simple thermal-treatment.
