        A Case Study of a Nonformal Alternative to “Principles of Teaching”

        “Principles of Teaching” is a required MRE course offered every two years at Bible Baptist Theological Seminary. The course is designed to expose seminary students to valuable teaching-learning contexts using nonformal alternatives. Mezirow defines fully functioning self-directed learner as one who independently governs his learning experiences in instrumental, dialogic, and self-reflective areas, which all are more or less involved in most learning situations. The frame of content and activities of “Principles of Teaching” is grounded on Mezirows’ concept of self-directed learning as a nonformal mode of adult education. A case, the critique, a nonformal alternative, and evaluation are discussed to enhance the subject-oriented and teacher-directed teaching.

        Perceptions of Culture Change and Its Influence on Spirituality among Korean Evangelical Seminary Students

        The cultural shift in what is commonly referred to as the postmodern era has vastly influenced the minds and logic of young adult seminarians. An actual transition in different values was observed in how they expressed themselves, and in how they conducted their daily lives. The purpose of the research is to establish a foundation for spiritual education in Korean evangelical seminaries by investalating seminarians’ understanding of cultural change and its impact on their spirituality. Feducais aspect of the sn in, a qualitative research desaln was employed. Thirty-three evangelical seminary sn ical sbetween twcaly-two and thirty years of age, from three evangelical seminaries, were selected feducais sn in. An in-icpca interview from the partiripants’ perspective was conducted to lather data throughout a year, and a constant comparative method of data ats’ysas was used. The findings of this sn in indicated that young evangelical seminarians’ spirituality was fedmed and influenced by sirio-cultural factors. Cultural change affected young seminarians’ notion of spirituality, be it individual, experiential, or post-modern.

        The Application of Kohlberg’s Moral Development Theory to Adult Ethical Reasoning from a Christian Perspective

        Although the two words, ethics and morality, are often used interchangeably, the concept of ethics is broader than that of morality. In this paper, ethical elements and adult ethical reasoning development toward principled thinking are built on Kohlberg’s moral stages. The work focuses on the transitional processes between the conventional and post-conventional levels: stage 4  stage 4-B  stage 4-1/2  stage 5  stage 6. The motivating principle of adult ethical development is cognitive disequilibrium, experience, and stabilization. Ethical development from a Christian perspective was discussed using the examples of Peter and Jesus. Christian educators need to challenge people to be aware of a higher form of Christian ethical principles applicable to all people everywhere, regardless of their circumstances. Although painful when there is the possibility of a severe crisis of faith, skepticism and relativism can eventually be replaced by a conviction in the absolute principle of God’s truth – the love of people and God. The realization of the law of love leads one to follow Christ willingly and to obey His command.

      • 성서침례친교회 교회학교 교사교육 현황 분석

        노옥경 성서침례대학원대학교(성침) 2017 성침논단 Vol.12 No.-

        교회학교 교사교육 연구에 대해 설문지를 이용해서 교사교육을 평가한 선행 연구들을 살펴본 후, 리더십 개발 패러다임과 ‘상호관계적 신앙공동체’ 형성 패러다임 관점에서 교사역량에 관한 연구들을 설명했다. 성서침례친교회 교회학교 교사교육 실태를 파악하고자 질문지 기법을 사용했다. 교사들은 주체, 내용, 방법, 형태에 관한 단일 혹은 다중 선택형 질문에 응답했으며, 교육 현장의 문제점과 개선방향에 관해서 자유롭게 기술하게 했다. 성서침례친교회는 비교적 작은 교회들로 구성되어 있는데, 이는 연구 참여자들이 교사교육을 교회에서 실시하지 못하는 가장 큰 이유로 선택했다. 영적이고 관계적인 교사상과 이미지를 선택한 선택형 문항의 응답 결과와는 달리, 개선점을 제안하는 서술형 질문에 연구참여자들은 전문적이고 실제적인 문제점을 대부분 표현했다. 이는 연구 참여자들이 일반적으로 막연히 생각하는 교사에 대한 이미지와는 달리, 교육현장에서 필요한 실제적이고 전문적인 교사역량의 결여를 인식하고 있다는 사실을 나타내고 있다. 특별히 다양하고 다면적인 작은 교회 상황에서는 교사들의 영적, 전문적, 그리고 관계적인 역량 향상을 위해 통합적으로 상호 연계할 수 있는 교사교육 패러다임(Mutual Interrelation Teacher Education Paradigm)이 필요하다. 성서침례친교회 교사교육 현황을 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 1) 자체적인 인적 자원과 물적 자원 파악, 2) 지도교사 및 교육 전문가 그룹 육성, 3) 관계적 역량 인식, 4) 상호연계 교사교육(MITE), 5) 교회 교육교재 개발, 6) 여성인력 활용, 그리고 7) 대학청년부 교사교육을 제안했다.

        효율높은 cloning system을 통한 Rat Liver 전장 낙산탈수소효소 A-cDNA의 제조 및 분리동정

        It is still difficult and time consuming to obtain cDNA sequences that contain the entire nucleotide sequence of the corresponding mRNA. A rapid and high efficient cloning method to obtain full-length cDNA segments is thus developed. The cloning procedure described here consists of the construction of oligo(dT)-tailed vector primer using pWR34 plasmid, polyadenylation of mRNA-cDNA heteroduplex using terminal deoxytransferase, and replacement of MRNA strand with DNA by RNase H and DNA polymerase I. The restriction endonuclease analysis shows that the size of inserted-cDNA is in the range of 1.5~4.0 kb long suggesting that most of cloned cDNA are full-length or nearly full-length cDNA. The plasmid-DNA recombinants obtained were 4$\times$$10^5$~$10^{6}$ per $\mu\textrm{g}$ of rat liver poly (A$^+$)mRNA, which is 4 to 10 fold higher cloning efficiency in comparison to the presently used methods for full-length cDNA cloning. The results indicate that the described cloning system is much simpler, less time consuming, and very efficient cloning method to construct a cDNA library.

      • Begin-부정사와 Begin-동명사의 비교 연구

        Two constructions, 'Begin to-infinitive' and 'Begin gerund' are investigated in this paper to fine the correlation between a meaning and a form. The general properties of to-infinitive and gerund affect the meaning of these two constructions, thus following hypothesis is made to account for the semantic differences between the two constructions and cooccurrence restrictions. Hypothesis. Attempts have been made to verify the hypothesis with the help of data and teats. Transformational-generativists have claimed that the meaning of a sentence is conveyed by its deep structure; the form of a sentence is given by its surface structure; transformations only relate deep structures and surface structures. Begin is one of the verbs followed by to-infinitive or gerund. We can see that there is a sensible difference in meaning between 'Begin to-infinitive' and 'Begin gerund', though they have the same verb. Therefore, it is contradictory that to-infinitive and gerund are mere transformations with no meaning of their own. This shows a meaning has something to do with a form.
