본 연구에서 종동력을 받는 첨단질량을 갖는 외팔보의 동적 안정성을 연구 하기 위해 접선 종동력을 전자석의 자기력에 의해 만들었으며, 이 비보존 종동력하에 서 보의 고유진동수의 변화와 임계하중에 대해 이론과 실험을 비교하였다. An experimental method to give a tangential follower force to a cantilever beam having a concentrated tip mass by the magnetic force of the electromagnet has been described. The dynamic behaviour of the beam under this nonconservative load has been analysed by experimentally as well as by theoretically. The theoretical and experimental results on the natural frequencies and the critical force of the systems are in good agreement with each other.

본 연구에서는 종등력을 받는 다수의 집중질량을 갖는 외팔보에 대해 집중질 량의 위치, 집중질량간의 집중질량비 및 집중질량대 분포질량의 질량비에 따른 보의 안정성에 관해 연구하였다. The stability behavior of the cantilever beam carrying several masses and subjected to a follower force at its free end is investigated. The effects of the location and the mass ratio of the concentrated masses on the stability of the system are discussed. An optimal location of the concentrated mass is determined to give maximum critical follower force. Discontinuities of the flutter load are observed for the system with more than two concentrated masses.

The effect of the damped goose-neck tool upon the dynamic stability of machine tool was investigated. The dynamic stability of machine tool is directly related to the chatter in the metal cutting process. By the test of the dynamic characteristics for the damped goose-neck tool, theoretical approach of dynamic stability of machine tool is identified. It's results are compared with the results of actual cutting test. And the dynamic stability of machine tool is improved by the higher elasticity and the increase of damping coefficient for the damped goose-neck tool.

Subharmonic vibration of order 1/2 of a simply supported uniform beam subjected to initial tention is studied for a concentrated lateral harmonic excitation force. Theoretical analysis is carried out by assumming the deflection as a superposition of linear eigenfunctions. Harmonic balance method is used for the steady state solution. The steady state solutions are obtained by using Newton-Raphson method. Experiments are carried out and show good agreement with the theoretical results.

본 논문에서는 비보존 문제중 하나 혹은 두개의 집중질량을 갖는 외팔보가 주 기적인 종동력을 받는 경우에 대해 외력의 상수항, 외력의 주기항, 질량비 및 집중질 량의 위치와 같은 계의 매개변수를 변화에 따른 불안정영역을 해석하고, 이에 따른 실 험을 하여 이론과 비교하였다. The parameteric instability of the cantilever beam carrying two concentrated masses subjected to a periodic follower force is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The effects of the constant follower force and the periodic follower force the mass ratio and the location of the concentrated mass on the parametric instability of the system are discussed. In experiment, the nonconservative follower force is produced by the magnetic force of the electromagnet. The theoretical and the experimental results on the parameteric instability are in good agreement each other.

This paper is concerned with the lateral dynamic stability of a flexible missile with discontinuities. The missible is idealized as a free-free beam with geometrical and material discontinuities subjected to a follower force with directional control. Using the unconstrained variational principle, finite element method is applied to the Euler beam equation to obtain the eigen-matrix eqn. The behaviors of the eigenvalues at various thrusts and the effects of missile are analyzed.
Hollow Structure에서의 희생층 평탄화 제작 공정

Two fabrication approaches are proposed to planarize the sacrificial layer over hollow structures. One is the photoresist filling method that makes use of photolithography, thermal curing and plasma ashing. The other is the lamination method that is applying pressure and temperature to the organic film over the hollow structures. The fabrication results are compared with those of CMP process. Trenches and cavities with various dimensions have been made for the porposed process. Upon measuring the planarization levels, they are dependent on planarization methods and the geometrical size of hollow structures. The photoresist filling method is so strongly dependent on the width and depth of trenches that we have problems to use it for large dimensional trenches. To the contrary, the flatness of sacrificial layer over the trenches was found to be almost independent of trench dimensions for the lamination method. A CMP process shows the most excellent results, but the fabrication is complicated and the access to it is not so easy. It is important to choose the proper planarization method by considering the required flatness levels, materials to be planarized, and connection between the planarization step and the previous or the following process of it.

As track density needs to increase to the order of 10, 000 tpi, the suspension has become a critical component in hard disk drives. One of the main obstacles to attain high track density is the structural resonances of the suspension in lateral direction. We investigate the suspension dynamics through the experimental modal analysis and the finite element method. An LDV (Laser Doppler Vibrometer) is employed to measure the response of the suspension which is excited by a shaker and an inpulse hammer for the free condition and the loaded condition, respectively. After comparing the experimental and numerical results, we study how the initial geometry of the bend region affects the suspension dynamics. It is found that the natural frequency of the sway mode decreases as the bend ratio and the bend angle increase. The shape of torsional mode changes as the mass of a slider increases, resulting in a local decrease in the natural frequency.

The average bit error rate (ABER) for a hard disk drive (HDD) system using planar silicon heads was calculated. To calculate the ABER, the head field distribution using 3 dimensional finite element method and error rate response surface (ERRS) were obtained. Then the ABER was simulated by convolving the calculated ERRS with track misregistration(TMR). For the average bit error rate of 10^(-6) and the track pitch of 3.7 ㎛, the allowable TMR was 0.36 ㎛, about 9.7 % of the track pitch.
