        Royal Jelly 첨가가 한우정자의 활력에 미치는 영향

        This experiment was carried out to clarify the effect of Royal Jelly collected by 24, 48 and 72 hours after grafting on the sperm motility of Korean cattle. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The average quantity of Royal Jelly production showed the highest amount when it was collected by 72 hours after grafting 2. Crude protein of Royal Jelly showed the highest content when it was collected by 24 hours after grafting, but amino acid content was variable depending on colling time, on the other hand, vitamin content was lower at 72 hours as compared with other treatments. 3. In all groups, the sperm motility seemed to decrease proportionately as the Royal Jelly concentration in the diluted solution increased, but under 1.0㎎ Royal Jelly concentration it was appeared to be better for presserving sperm motility than control. Especially, 0.2㎎ Royal Jelly concentration appeared to be the best for sperm motility (p$lt;0.01) than any other treatments. 4. Sperm motility was better when Royal Jelly was collected by 24 and 48 hours as compared to 72 hours (p$lt;0.05).

        후기사료 급여시기가 Broiler 의 증체 및 육질에 미치는 영향

        This study indicated that statistical significance (P$lt;0.01) were in body weight gain among the treatments. Chicks which fed the starter diet starting at 1 day of age to the end of experiment were appeared to be heaviest and chicks which fed the finisher diet at 3 weeks were lightest. There were no significant differences in feed consumption ranged 3,526 to 3,852 grams to 9 weeks of age. Feed efficiency in this experiment ranged from 2.43 to 2.74. The average return over feed cost (selling price less cost of feed) for chicks ranged from 99.70 to 124.55 won. Chicks which were fed the the finisher diet at 5 weeks appeared the highest return, followed by the chicks which fed the starter diet for the entire period, and chicks which fed the finisher diet at 6, 4 and 3 weeks. Although eviscerated carcasses had on significant differences in dressing percentage, chicks which fed the starter diet for the entire experimental period appeared a trend to be heavier than those fed other diets. A percentage difference existed between sexes and treatments for protein, whereas differences existed only in sexes for fat. There were no significant differences between sexes and treatment for moisture.

        인삼 Saponin 이 닭이 성장 및 번식능력에 미치는 영향

        This experiment was carried out to determine the effect of feeding Ginseng Crude Saponin (GCS) on the body weight gain and reproductive performance of click under normal and stressed circumstance. The GCS was administered to chicks orally in the amount of 4㎎, 20㎎ and 100㎎ per ㎏ body weight contineously for seven weeks. In Pilch cockerel trial, GCS was fed in the amount of 25㎎ and 100㎎ per ㎏ body weight for four weeks (from 18th wks. of age to 22th wks.) under the restricted feeding condition. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. No significant differences were found in body weight gain, feed efficiency and retention of nutrients such as protein, fat and energy among the treatments. 2. No moticeable difference was observed in organ weight such as liver, adrenal, bursa of fabricius, spleen and pancreas. However, the weight of bursa of fabricius and spieen which is known to produce plasma cell were appeared to decreased in the group received stress by means of inoculating Salmonella pullorum. 3. Total cholesterol content of serum and liver tissue were found to decrease with the administration of GCS, the cholesterol. content showed apparent reduction in the group received the stress comparing the normal group. 4. Pilch cockeral group which was administered the GCS ire the amount of 50㎎ and 100㎎ were found to increase the width and length of testis and 100㎎ of GCS administration group was observed to increase the weight of testis comparing the control group, but there were no significant difference among the treatments. Diameter of seminiferous table value appeared the highest size in the group of 100㎎ GCS administration in comparison with other treatments(p$lt;0.01).

        우울증의 신경생물학

        At the beginning, researches on the biology of depression or affective illness have focused mainly on the receptor functions and neuroendocrine activities. And the studies of the past years did not break new theoretical background, but the recent advances in the research on the molecular mechanisms underlying neural communication and signal transduction do add some insights to many established ideas. This article will overview some of the more recent advances in the clinical researches of depression. Our major concerns to be presented here include the followings : (1) alterations in the post-synaptic neural transduction ; (2) changes in the neurons of hypothalamic neuropeptides ; (3) decreased peptidase enzyme activities ; (4) associations of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis abnormalities with serotonin neurotransmission ; (5) role of serotonin transporter ; (6) changes in the responsiveness of intracellular calcium ion levels ; (7) the inositol deficiency theory of lithium and depression ; (8) the transcription factors including immediate early genes ; (9) recent genetic studies in some families. This brief overview will suggest that changes in DNA occur during antidepressant therapy. These changes at the DNA level initiating a cascade of events underlying antidepressant modality will give us the insights on the molecular biological basis of the pathogenesis of depression and cues for a new class of antidepressants.

        Transforming Growth Factor β가 돼지 난자의 체외성숙에 미치는 영향

        돼지 수정란의 체외생산은 난자의 체외성숙과 체외수정에 관한 기술의 부족으로 아직까지 만족스럽지 못한 수준이다. 특히 돼지 수정란의 체외생산에는 복잡한 세포질의 성숙과정과 높은 다정자침입율 및 전핵형성의 억제등의 문제점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 돼지 난자의 체외성숙 체계를 개선하기 위하여 transforming growth factorβ(TGFβ)의 첨가가 난자 및 난구세포에 미치는 효과에 대하여 검토하였다. 체외성숙용 배지에 TGFβ를 1~10ng/ml의 농도로 첨가하여 미성숙 난자를 배양한 결과 성숙율이 높아졌다. TGFβ의 효과는 난구세포가 제거된 난자의 성숙에도 효과적이었다. TGFβ의 첨가시기에 따른 차이는 없었으나, 난구세포를 제거한 난자의 경우에는 성숙배양 전반기(59%) 또는 후반기(57%) 24시간 동안에만 TGFβ를 첨가하는 것이 48시간 동안 계속하여 첨가(27%)하는 경우 또는 비첨가(38%)에 비하여 유의적으로 높은 성숙율을 나타냈다(p<0.05). 이와 같은 결과는 난구세포가 돼지 난자의 체외성숙에 필수적이지만 TGFβ는 난구세포가 제거된 난자의 체외성숙에 어느정도 유익한 효과를 발휘하는 것으로 추측된다.
