The purpose of the study was to establish the teaching content areas for practical arts in elementary school and to settle the sub-arear and concrete detail areas about established teaching content areas The contents of this study were ①to analyze curriculum content of korea and other countries, ②to make a curriculum content area for practical arts education in elementary school, ③to establish curriculum content area. The method of this study was used content analysis and survey. Through content analysis, the curriculum area of practical arts was established. And make inquiry to experts about established tentative plan. After testing out the validity degree by 79 experts, we was present the curriculum contents areas of practical arts for elementary school. According to the results of the study from the evaluators, means of the tentative plan of each area was 3.31∼4.35, we can say that the validity is high degree. The study synthesized the results from rating the tentative plan and the opinion provided with explanatory and other space, keeping the basic framework as it is and then suggestions of establishing the area were confirmed partly reforming and replacing it as follows; The teaching curricum areas for Practical Arts Education was established biotechnology, living technology, information technology, home economics in elementary school. The subarea of biotechnology is consist of cultivation and breeding. The subarea of living technology is consist of design and making. The subarea of information technology is consist of life & comprter and computer utilizing. The subarea of home economics is consist of clothing life, food life and family relationship & housing.
