      • 초고주파 트랜지스터를 이용한 Reflection Amplifier Design

        This paper is presented to design the reflection amplifier which employ microwave transistors as the active element with high power gain and narrow band width. Scattering parameters are measured according to the frequency. The load is chosen in order to make S_11' greater than unity. High power gain can be obtained by using matching circuit. As an example, at 3.59GHz reflection amplifier has 17.5db power gain with 20MHz Band width.

        지역사회의 쓰레기 소각장 입지갈등에 관한 연구 : 경기도 군포지역을 사례로 A Case Study Conflict View in Kunpo City, Kyunggi-Do

        The siting of a waste incineration plant, an unwanted urban facility(LULUs: Local Unwanted Land Uses) in an area has conflicting aspects not only in its nature but also its regional characteristics. The purpose of this study is to examine influences of two groups of local residents on the siting of unwanted urban facility in Kunpo city in Kyunggi-Do. The socio-economic characteristics of local residents were surveyed in 1998. Kunpo city can be divided two districts, old town and new town. The old town district has been a traditional center of this region and was more industrialized as a part of Kyungin industrial region. The new town district was grown by development of new apartment complexes in early 1990s. The socio-economic characteristics of the local residents between two the districts are different each other. The results of the questionnaire survey are as follows. Most of the residents of new town district live in apartments, which are owned by individuals. They moved in this region after 1992, and are better in income and school education than residents in the old town district. On the contrary, the residents of old town district mostly live in rented house. More than one half of them moved in this region before 1992 and are lower in income and school education than residents in the new town district. The attitude toward the waste incineration plant of residents of new town district is different from that of residents in the old town district. More residents in new town oppose to the present location strongly than those of old town did, and more town residents expected that air pollution by the planned incinerator will be serious to their town than old town residents did. When economic compensation is sufficiently given to them, the residents of old town have more flexible in degree of opposing to its present location than those of new town do. Two groups of residents do not agree to whether a large-scale incinerator covering much larger area will be better than many small-scale incinerators when considering regional air pollution problems, and in this case, it means that geographical living sphere of two groups of residents is different each other. As mentioned above, residents of new town are more sensitive to the waste incineration plant than those of old town are. As we have seen above, new residents who moved into the town after construction of the apartment complex have different socio-economic characteristics from the existing population's. An introduction of a new community facility can bring about a regional conflict or regional integration depending on whether it benefits all of its residents or a part of its residents. In this study, the siting of a waste incineration plant resulted in negative impacts on the regional integration. Therefore, in determining the siting of an unwanted urban facility, we need consider not only environmental safety and economic efficiency but also characteristics of local residents.

        In the late 19th century, the designation of national parks in the US was a monumental event at the time as seen from the perspective of environmental movement. The initial establishment of national parks in the US stems from their unique historical and cultural background. In particular, viewpoint of romanticism that regarded wilderness as the place where God is present led to the designation of protected areas so that man could not approach the grand views of nature, and thereafter the views at national parks have been well preserved. However, nature in the Old Continent have been interacting with man for a long time so that wilderness is an unfamiliar concept to the habitants. Also, at a time when various local and global environmental problems are developing, there is need consider the concept of wilderness more comprehensively by proceeding beyond the dualistic vision of hypothesizing division between nature and man.         장소감의 환경교육적 의의

        The aim of this study is to explore the meanings and significance of sense of place in environmental education. Sense of place is related to affective aspect of human, means emotional bonds to place where he live.In general sense, place is referred to a location on the earth but is not confined to physical settings or space. It is a construction reflecting human experiences and meanings and being center of meaningful experiences in everyday life. Recently there are many environmental educators emphasizing lived experience as a way to develop environmental sensitivity or intimacy toward nature. Environmental education should be practiced in the place where the participants live and reflect locality including social and cultural characteristics as well as natural features. In addition, it should provide opportunities for participants to have an lived experience where they can get the sense of bonds to place or connectedness. It is the significance that sense of place has. If you get sense of place, sense of bonds to place, you are likely to feel much more belongingness and attachment to place, which in turn become a basis for a variety of activities to conserve and improve the place and will develop an ecological self.

        A low loss MIS coplanar transmissioon line employing a very thin metal layer between center conductor and ground plane on semiconductor substrate is described. Theoretical Analysis using the quasi-TEM analysis reveals large slow-wave factor with very high quality factors up to 100 ㎓.

      • VHF Power Amplkfier Design

        A simple trial and error method using S-parameters which leads to a simple technique for designing the matching network of power amplifier is presented and for impedance matching 4-to-1 impedance transformer using microstrip line is also presented. A power amplifier was constructed and measured. The measured data showed well agreement with design.

        Two dimensional Numerical model of ion-implanted MOSFET is presented, The fundamental semiconductor equations are solved with proper calculation method to all very quick converging of results. We also fabricate some Ion Implanted MOSFET's for checking the model's accuracy. A good agreement between model and experiment was reported.
