The impact of climate change by greenhouse gas has been increasing. Around the world many countries announced their goals for reducing global greenhouse gas. Korean government, which declared its reduction goal, need, however, practical means to achieve it. For this purpose, we researched the land-use transportation linkage planning by the MPO of the USA, which is evaluated as one of most effective policies.In this study, we investigated the effects of land-use transportation plans conducted by the Southern California as a case study in order to make Korean planners convinced of land-use transportation linked one.

N/A Background: Although the topical application of glycolic acid (GA) could possibly exert some effects on the normal epidermal permeability function, the exact effects and its mechanism of action have not been well documented. Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of GA on the expression of epidermal cytokines and to clarify its chelation effect on the epidermal calcium ions, which are known to control the secretion of lamellar bodies. Methods: After topical application of 70% GA aqueous solution on the flank of hairless mice, the expression of epidermal IL-1α and TNF-α was assessed and the change of epidermal calcium ions was evaluated. Results: The results could be summarized as the following: ⑴ real time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemical staining studies showed increases in mRNA and protein expression of epidermal IL-1α: ⑵ the GA reduced intracellular calcium ion concentrations in vitro and resulted in the loss of epidermal calcium gradient in vivo. Conclusion: These results suggest that, like iontophoresis or sonophoresis, GA could influence the skin`s barrier homeostasis, possibly by lowering the epidermal calcium ions. In recent years, the scale of damage from disasters such as earthquakes and large-scale fires and floods that are occurring in Korea is increasing. Accordingly, interest in urban disaster prevention that combines living infrastructure such as roads and parks is boosting, and it is urgent to prepare measures to reduce the damage scale of local cities. The purpose of this study is to derive implications for disaster prevention measures in areas where disaster prevention safety of local cities is weak through examples of disaster prevention safety of local cities in case of disaster. To this end, this study analyzed the regional characteristics, current status, and disaster prevention problems of regional cities in Japan, and selected disaster-vulnerable areas, and considered the distance relationship between disaster prevention bases through road network analysis. In addition, road closure simulation using ArcGIS Network Analyst was conducted to analyze disaster prevention safety in the area. As a result, the situation of the village which has a high possibility of isolation by natural disasters was grasped in advance. Through this, the suburbs confirmed the necessity of supplementing the disaster prevention function through transportation maintenance such as forest roads, and it was found that the city needs to prepare a risk management system. Furthermore, this study suggests the need for research on areas with a high possibility of isolation, especially in areas where disaster prevention functions are weak in local cities in case of disaster, and shows countermeasures for disaster prevention measures and resident education.
