        국제어로서 영어 관점 수용의 조건

        It has been a decade since the language policy of English as a global language(EGL) was announced by the Ministry of Education. However, little attention has been paid to publicizing the new policy and the traditional perspective of English as a foreign language(EFL) is very much dominant in Korean English classrooms. The purpose of this study is to attempt to discover the grounds on which pre-service elementary teachers make the perspective change from the existing EFL paradigm to the new. 98 participants’ written responses to questionnaires were analyzed for recurring themes to tap their existing positions as to EFL and EGL, their transitions from the former to the latter, and perceptual responses to English as a result of assuming the EGL perspective. The findings of the study suggest as conditions for adopting the EGL perspective adjusting the definition of one’s own language, endorsing one’s own identity as a global citizen, asserting ownership of a language as its user, and taking interest in relationship and communication with members of global community. It is hoped that this study provides an example of inducing the needed perspective change and that the findings of the study may be useful for introducing and spreading the notion of EGL.

        유아교육기관 3, 4, 5세 교육계획안에 나타난 유아 과학교육활동 내용분석

        본 연구는 유아교육기관 3, 4, 5세 주간교육계획안에 나타난 유아 과학교육활동의 내용을 분석하여 활동의 내용 분포와 경향을 알아보고 그 에 따른 유아 과학교육활동 내용 구성의 방향을 제시하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 국공립 어린이집 3곳, 사립 유치원 2곳, 공립 유치원 3곳 총 8곳 유아교육기관의 각 3, 4, 5세 총 24학급의 일 년 동안 주간 교육계획안의 과학교육활동 내용을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 유아 과학교육 활동 내용 분포의 경향은 생명체와 자연환경 알아보기가 가장 높은 빈도 를 나타내었고, 가장 많이 계획된 과학교육활동의 유형은 자유선택활동으로 나타났다. 시기별로 살펴본 결과 4월, 7월, 10월, 11월, 12월의 계절과 관련된 생활주제에 과학교육활동 계획의 빈도가 높았으며, 3, 4, 5세 공통적으로 동⋅식물 관련활동이 많이 계획되고 있는 반면 생명체 소중히 여기기, 도구와 기계의 편리함과 장단점 관련활동은 상대적으로 계획 의 빈도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 현장에서 계획되고 있는 유아 과학교육 활동 내용의 전반적 분포 경향을 참고하여, 유아 과학교육활동 내용 계획 및 세부 내용의 이해에 대한 교사교육이 필요함을 제언하였다. This study analyzed the science education activities for children aged 3 to 5 represented in the weekly teaching plans of early childhood education institutions. The distribution of content and trends in early childhood science education were analyzed and a direction for composing the content for early childhood science education activities was presented. To that end, the science education activities in the weekly plan and curriculum for 24 classes with children aged 3 to 5 at 8 child education institutions were analyzed for one year. The results show that understanding biological beings and the natural environment were most frequently represented and the most commonly planned for type of science education activity was free choice activity. In terms of timing, there were frequent plans for science education activities in April, July, October, November and December which were associated with the given season and while for children aged 3 to 5, regardless of their age, activities related to animals or plants were frequently planned, activities related to valuing life or learning about the convenience of tools and machines and their advantages and disadvantages had lower frequency in the plan. Continued training of the instructor would be required based on the identified overall distribution of content and their frequency in science education activity contents for children aged 3 to 5 that are currently planned for in the educational practice to promote better understanding of details and content plans.

        초등영어교육의 목표와 게임의 효용

        The purpose of this study is to shed light on the utility of game activities in elementary school English textbooks based on the objectives of elementary English education. Three teachers' interpretations of the objectives, their views on the effectiveness of games, their teaching practices regarding games, their preferred activity types and the impact of games on achieving the objectives are explored. The teachers viewed game activities in the Korean elementary school English textbooks as serving limited purposes in achieving the objectives. The teachers shared their perspectives on the positive impact of having elementary learners engage in activities dealing with stories of their own lives. They voiced a concerted opinion about the effectiveness of these kinds of activities in achieving the objectives of elementary English education. The findings of the study suggest the need to clarify the meanings of the objectives and to take them into more serious consideration in textbook development.

      • 사용자의 동적인 관심변화를 학습하는 개인화된 뉴스 에이전트

        정보여과 시스템은 사용자의 관심사를 정확하게 알아내야 하고(specialization), 시간에 따른 변화에 적응할 수 있어야 하며(adaptation), 사용자의 잠재적인 관심사를 발견하기 위해 새로운 도메인을 탐험할 수 있어야 한다(exploration). 본 논문에서는 온라인 뉴스 기사를 여과하여 사용자와 관련이 있는 뉴스 기사를 추천하는 뉴스 에이전트를 설계, 구현하고자 한다. Specialization, adaptation의 두 가지 요구사항을 충족시키기 위해 사용자의 관심사를 도메인별로 분리하고 각 도메인은 long-term과 short-term으로 나눈다. Exploration의 요구사항을 충족시키기 위해서는 카테고리 교차(crossover) 연산을 사용한다. 실험 결과, 사용자에 대한 사전 정보가 전혀 없는 상태에도 불구하고 빠른 적응능력을 보였다. long-term과 short-term의 분리는 사용자의 관심사에 급격한 변화가 일어난 후에도 시스템이 빠르게 적응할 수 있음을 보여주었다. 또한 카테고리 교차 연산을 통해 사용자의 새로운 관심사 탐험을 수행해 낼 수 있음을 보여주었다.

        유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들의 자녀와의 공감에 대한 인식과 경험에 대한 탐색

        본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들이 자녀와의 공감에 대해서 어떻게 인식하고 있으며 자녀와 의 공감 경험이 어떠한지에 대해서 탐색하고 이해하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 16명을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 어머니들은 마음을 알아 주는 공감, 생각을 읽어주는 공감, 서로 소통하는 공감 등 공감에 대한 다양한 인식을 하고 있었다. 둘째, 어머니와 자녀의 공감 경험은 안아주고 무조건 수용하기, 공감이 안 되어 느끼는 답답함, 공감 을 위한 의도적인 노력과 연습하기, 서로 위로받기의 형태로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니들은 양육환경에 서 오는 스트레스와 자녀의 발달에 대한 이해 부족으로 인해서 공감의 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 영유아 의 발달에 중요한 영향을 미치는 부모-자녀 관계에서 공감에 대한 이해를 높이고 어머니들을 지원하 는 부모교육이 필요하다. The purpose of this study was to explore mothers’feelings and experiences of empathy with their young children. Focus group interviews with 16 mothers of young children were implemented to examine mothers’experiences of empathy-based interactions with their young children. The findings of the study indicated that mothers had empathy-based interactions with children as they communicated with their children based on understandings of children’s inner feelings and thoughts. Mothers also reported that they occasionally experienced difficulties as they had hard time connecting with children, but they made efforts to interact with children based on empathy. They tried to accept children’s feelings and hug them often, and comfort each others’ feelings. Mothers felt that parenting distress, lack of understandings on children’s developmental levels, and differences in mother-child dispositions were barriers to empathy-based interactions. Based on these findings, suggestions were made to support mothers to engage in interactions with their children based on empathy.

        기능적 과제를 통한 다관절 관절위치감각 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 관절위치감각, 균형, 보행능력에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of multi joint-joint position sense (MJ-JPS) training on joint position sense, balance, and gait ability in stroke patients. A total of 18 stroke patients participated in the study. The subjects were allocated randomly into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. Participants in the experimental group received MJ-JPS training (10 min) and conventional treatment (20 min), but participants in the control group only received conventional treatment (30 min). Both groups received training for five times per week for six weeks. MJ-JPS is a training method used to increase proprioception in the lower extremities; as such, it is used, to position the lower extremities in a given space. MJ-JPS measurement was captured via video using a Image J program to calculate the error distance. Balance ability was measured using Timed Up and Go (TUG) and the Berg Balance Scale (BBS). Gait ability was measured with a 10 m walking test (10MWT) and by climbing four flights of stairs. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to assess normalization. Within-group differences were analyzed using the paired t-test. Between-group differences were analyzed using the independent t-test. The experimental group showed a significant decrease in error distance (MJ-JPS) compared to the control group (p<.05). Both groups showed a significant difference in their BBS and 10MWT results (p<.05). The experimental group showed a significant decrease in their TUG and climbing results (p<.05), but the control group results for those two tasks were not found to be significant (p>.05). There was significant difference in MJ-JPS and by climbing four flights of stairs on variation of pre and post test in between groups (p<.05), but TUG and BBS and 10MWT was no significantly (p>.05). We suggest that the MJ-JPS training proposed in this study be used as an intervention to help improve the functional activity of the lower extremities in stroke patients.

        세계어로서 영어교육과 초등학생들의 영어발음에 대한 인식

        Korean English Education has adopted the view of English as a world language since 2007 Curriculum Reform. Within the new approach, once aspired aim of native-likeness has been replaced by comprehensible intelligibility. With respect to pronunciation, emulating native-like pronunciation is not the aim but comprehensible pronunciation is considered sufficient. However, studies have reported of teachers' and learners' views in discord with these principles in educational policy. In this area of research, little attention has been paid to elementary students' views. This study explores a class of fifth grade elementary students' views of English pronunciation. 22 students' responses on a questionnaire survey were examined. Four of the students and the native speaker teacher were interviewed. The results show that the students tend to think that attaining native-like pronunciation is important. The findings of the study suggest the need for larger scale research on elementary students' views of the issue and for appropriate education regarding English pronunciation in the context of English as a world language.
