        Studies of Organic Forage Production System for Animal Production in Korea

        Organic forage production system is one of the most important aspects in organic livestock production. Animals in the organic farming system are also essential for manure to be used for organic forage production. Both organic forage and animals are essential to maintain the cycle of organic agriculture system. In this paper we introduce the organic forage production system in Korea. Summer and winter crops are getting popular in Korea because of their high forage yield and cultivation in double cropping systems. Common cropping system for forage production in Korea is the double cropping system with legume and grass mixture. Forage sorghum and sudangrass are the most popular ones of annual summer forage corps because of their high production with low cost in the double cropping systems. In the mixture of forage crops, inter cropping is more suitable in the corn and sorghum cropping system because of high lodging resistance and forage yield, and low weed population. Forage sorghum and sudangrass are difficult to preserve as direct-cut silage due to the fact that its high moisture content causes excessive fermentation during ensiling. Corn grain addition to sorghum silage could be recommended as the most effective treatment for increasing quality and reducing production cost. It is recommended that corn grain could be added up to 10% of total amount of silage. And agriculture by-products also can be added at the time of ensiling to minimize losses of effluent and have the additional advantage of increasing quality. Agriculture by-products as silage supplements increased DM content and quality, and decreased the production cost of sorghum silage. Field pre-wilting treatment of forage crops also increased DM content and quality of the silage. Wilting sorghum${\times}$sudangrass hybrid before ensiling was the effective method for reducing effluent and increasing pH and forage quality more than direct cut silage. Optimum prewilting period of sudangrass silage was 1 or 2 days. In organic forage, the most important factor is the enhancement of organic forage sufficiency in relation to the environmental-friendly and organic livestock. Consequently, there are many possibilities for animal production and organic forage production in Korea. No forages no cattle concept should be emphasized in organic farming system.

        Despite of a few attempt for reform of the judical system, it is failed in Korea. Therefore this study deals with what the most effective execution system for reform of the judical system is. It was mainly failure cause that negative or reverse the attitute of legal circles of as the persons directly concerned with reform of the judical system. This study is focusing on the people's convenience about direction of reform of the judical system, and the main body of that should be the People(General Citizens)of as a the master.In execution organization for reform of the judical system, the persons directly concerned with reform of the judical system should be excluded. Therefore reform plan of the judical system will be made by the Expert Committee that has know-how concerned reform of the judical system. On the other hand, the consideration and decision about reform plan of the judical system should be leaved on organization composed by the representives of people(general citizens). And legal basis concerned with reform of the judical system should be act of parliament and belonging organization of president directly.In successful reform of the judical system, the most important thing is self-sacrifice attitude escaped from egoism of each occupation area.

        Inclusion Body를 형성한 $\beta$-Glucosidase의 Chaperonin에 의한 활성 향상

        $\beta$-Glucosidaes from Cellvibrio gilvus(CG) was successfully overproduced in soluble form in E. coli with the coexpression of GroEL/ES/. Without the GroEL/ES protein, the $\beta$-glucosidase overexpressed in E. coli constituted a huge amount(80%) of total cellular protein, but was localized in the insoluble fraction, and little activity was detected in the soluble fraction. Coexpression of the E. coli GroEL/ES had a drastic impact on the proper folding of the $\beta$-glucosidase; 20% of the overexpressed enzyme was recovered in the soluble fraction in active form. Similar effects of GroEL/ES were also observed on the overexpressed $\beta$-glucosidase from Agrobacterium tumefaciens(AT). And pET28(a)-RGRAR, partially deleted mutant lacking 5-amino acid residues at carboxy teminus also could be folded into an active form when expressed with the molecular chaperonin GroEL/ES, and its activity was higher than that of the without GroEL/ES system, In addition, the synergistic effect of GroEL/ES and the low induction temperature were important factors for solubilization of the inclusion body from overproduced $\beta$-glucosidases.

      • 좌골신경의 주사손상에 대한 실험적 연구

        Serious sciatic nerve injury may result usually from erroneous injections of commonly used antibiotics and other therapeutic or prophylactic agents into the gluteal region at any age especially in infant, children and in small or debilitated patients. Although many isolated cases and several large series have been reported the pathogenesis and pathology of injection injury in man have been poorly studied. This experimental study was undertaken to observe histological changes following injection of various drugs such as Rheumapyrine, Chloromycetin, Penicillin, Normal saline and Distilled water to the sciatic nerve ana also has attempted to clarify the pathogenesis and pathology of injection injury in normal adult rabbits weighing 1.5-2kg. Sixty-seven experimental animals were divided into 5 groups-Distilled water, Normal saline, Chloromycetin, Penicillin and Rheumapyrine injection groups. After both sciatic nerves are exposed under the local anesthesia, agents were injected intraneurally on the right side and perineurally on the left side. Pathologic specimens were then taken at interval of 1.3,7 and 21 days after the injection. The results obtained are summarized as follows : 1) Rheumapyrine produced the greatest reaction. Penicillin was the next and Chloromycetin was the least damaging of the drugs in this study. saline and Distilled water caused no damage. 2) Major pathologic changes of the injured sciatic nerve were degeneration of axon, myelin sheath and bundle atrophy in nervous tissues, and acute exudative inflammation and granulation in the soft tissues. 3)It was postulated that disability after injection injury developed in cases of severly damaged nervous tissue. 4) It was found that the major source of damage to the sciatic nerve was chemical agent which was toxic to the peripheral nerves, and the site of damage was intraneural, unless a very toxic agent was deposited near the nerve.
