The present study is a preliminary report for advanced research. Its main-purpose is to obtain basic data on the life organization of rural women. For this-purpose, an attitude survey was used among female members of several Town-Banks. 296 samples(members) were selected by systematic sampling from five Town-Banks in the rual area of North Kyung-Sang Province. Then their attitudes were separately analyzed in terms of their living conditions, view of life, their status as women and civic pride. The following findings are to be observed from this analysis: (1) Eighty percent of all respondents were conscious of the betterment of their living after becoming the members of the Town-Bank. (2) Their goal is to seek security in life. Their wants for regular saving is very strong. More than 80% of them favored the rationalization of life style, and yet about half of the number of the respondents would not permit any kind of waste. The majority(77.4%) have a view that when the national economy develops, the gap between the rich and the poor shall be diminished. (3) Their attitude toward "marriage" becomes more humanized. In general, they want to have only a few children. About 60% of the respondents have an intention to live together with their parents afterm arriage, while nearly 40% of them wish to live separately. However, 3/4 of them want to live together with their offspring after they become old. This shows great concern for providing for their old age. (4) 55% of the respondents feel themselves happy, to the contrary about 40% don't feel so. There is still consciousness of discriminations between men and women. Nearly 80% of them prefer housework before looking for a job, while their concern gradually tends toward correlating both. (5) While the traditional way of thinking is still strong, it is expected that this way is gradually falling away. Women's idea of "Blessedness" seems to be approaching to that of men, that is, that a happy home life is the most blessed thing in life. (6) More than 82% of the respondents expressed their affection for their native town. The relation among neighboring people is intimate. Their strong concern is likely to promote the living standards of the local people.
