        Study of Disclusion Time during Mandibular Eccentric Movement in Myofascial Pain Syndrome Patients by T-Scan II, Computerized Occlusal Analysis System

        Temporomandibular disorders(TMD) is a collective term which is embracing a number of clinical problems that involve the masticatory musculature, the TMJ and associated structures, or both. Myofascial pain, which is a kind of masticatory muscle disorder of TMD, is the sensory, motor, and autonomic symptoms caused by myofascial trigger points. There has been some controversies regarding etiologies of TMD and MFP. Especially the issue of occlusal conditions has been a critical issue for long time. Despite much efforts, the results of studies regarding occlusal conditions were contradictory. These controversies might be mostly due to various factors resulting from the complex nature of TMD, however, inaccurate and inappropriate study design, selection criteria, methodologies also play significant roles. Recently, a computerized occlusal analysis system, T-Scan II which made it possible to reveal quantifiable time data and relative force data for analyzing occlusion, was introduced. Some authorities suggested that the concept of disclusion time and prolonged disclusion time of posterior tooth and MFP are related using T-Scan II. But the previous studies which used T-SCAN II are not reliable for they did not provide accurate diagnostic criteria of MFP. Morever they did not compare with controls, and had many other problems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between MFP and prolonged disclusion time of posterior tooth, which is one of the occlusal factors of TMD, by selecting 30 subjects as the study group through strict criteria and comparing them with 38 controls using T-SCAN II, computerized occlusal analysis system. The results, statistically analyzed, are summarized as follows: 1. Cronbach ${\alpha}$ coefficient of repeated measurements of disclusion time was 0.92. 2. There were no statistically significant differences at repeated measured disclusion time of both side between control and study group. 3. There was no statistically significant diffefence in the disclusion time between right and left side. From the results above, we can suggest that there was no relationship between MFP and disclusion time, so irreversible treatments leading to the reduction of disclusion time for treating MFP would not be appropriate. However more controlled, large scaled study, which consider various occlusal factors, and quantification of symptoms using Helkimo index would be necessary in the future.

        Hydrogels for Efficient Multiplex PCR

        Multiplex PCR simultaneously detects several different DNA targets in a given sample and has, therefore, gained considerable interest for use in examining a genetic target whose number rapidly increases in a single phenotype. Conventional real-time PCR lacks sufficient multiplex capacity, as the limited number of color channels restricts the number of simultaneously detectable targets to six. On the contrary, DNA-based hydrogel microparticles immobilized with primers provide outstanding multiplex capacity, as they can encode for various patterns with a level of coding capacity high enough to identify ≥ 105 targets. Moreover, hydrogel microparticles comprising polyethylene glycol can be made extremely porous, as it is easy to control their porosity and hydrophilic properties. Their high compatibility for aqueous biochemical reactions also ensures an environment and efficiency similar to amplification reactions occurring in aqueous media. The applicability of DNAbased encoded hydrogel microparticles with fixed primers has been widely proven through various hydrogel particlebased bioassays. This review focuses on the advancements in diverse approaches for an efficient multiplex PCR based on such microparticles. Herein, multiple strategies for constructing and encoding a “hydrogel” are described. Moreover, various methods for an efficient hydrogel PCR and the latest developments regarding multiple forms of bioassays that utilize hydrogel PCR are illustrated using selected examples. Lastly, this review provides insights into the prospects for encoded hydrogel microparticles and the challenges for their application.

        연료레일의 응력 저감을 위한 최적 설계

        This paper is one of basic studies for development of fuel rail to secure strength of GDI system. The fuel rail supports high pressure of 200~250bar and stores fuel while reducing pulsation during injection. Therefore, the structural characteristics of the conventional fuel rail was investigated with respect to stress and displacement. Then, the study focused on reducing stress concentration on fuel rail design to enhance the strength of each components. It was found that the maximum stress was not affected to the dimensions of taper lengths and angles of holes for fuel pipe. Also, it was found that the shape of holes for fuel pipe was key factor to reduce maximum stress, and the bridge between injector and mounting holder was effective structure to reduce the stress of injectors and displacement of the fuel rail system.

        Nominalization in Scientific Genre: A Systemic Functional Linguistics Perspective

        Grammatical metaphor (GM) is one of the building blocks of Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) and plays a pivotal part in the theory of metaphor. GM is classified into ideational and interpersonal metaphor. This study addresses the first type of grammatical metaphor, i.e. the Ideational Grammatical Metaphor (IGM), which consists of process types and nominalization. With texts of a scientific journal, this study carried out an analysis of nominalization modified by a prepositional phrase, the frequency, and process types. The finding indicates that the dominantly modifying prepositional phrase is of phrase, and the most prevalent process type is material. As indicated in scientific articles, the nominalized texts are largely utilized for writing more practical, formal, and rational. The findings of this study can offer significant implications for academic reading and writing as well as students and instructors involved in reading and writing pedagogy.

        초소수력 발전용 튜고 수차의 개발

        Pico hydropower, which refers to generation under 5kW, has been adopted in many places in the world as a cost effective and reliable power supply. The turbine units are important components for picohydropower and must be portable, simple to maintain. In this study, therefore, Turgo turbine units were developed which reported to be reliable, robust and able to operate efficiently over a range of flow rates. A 2D steady-state mathematical model was developed to calculate the performance and design the optimal geometry of Turgo runner. Also, a laboratory-scale simulator was constructed to test the operating performance and experiments were carried out to determine the effect on turbine efficiency of variation in speed and jet diameter. Under the best conditions, developed Turgo turbine efficiency was observed to be over 90% at a speed of 900rpm.

        자율 주행차와 스마트도시의 상호기능성 분석

        본 연구는 자율 주행차의 발전 과정이 독자적인 동시에 이상적이라는 문제를 제기한다. 디지털적 상호기능성에 따라 자율 주행차의 기술적, 법적-사회적, 산업적 면모를 기술하고, 이를 스마트도시의 교통정보 시스템과 연관하여 설명한다. 이로써 자율 주행차의 발전 과정에 어떤 부분이 장애로 작용하는지를 제시하여 발전의 방향성을 재고한다. 연구 방법은 문헌 연구에 사례를 제시하는 실증적 논리를 취한다. 자율자동차의 발전 과정에 따른 사회적, 법적, 산업적 장애가 아직은 논의 선상에 모두 떠올라 있지 않기 때문에, 논란의 주요 부분을 가설적으로 추출하여 원인을 추론한다. 그 결과 첫째, 자율 주행차에 장착된 기기는 차량 자체의 통합적인 시스템뿐 아니라 차량 외부의 교통 정보시스템 안에서 통제된다. 둘째, 수익성이 보장되지 않는다. 셋째, 자율 주행차와 스마트도시 사이에 기술적, 법적-사회적 그리고 산업적 차원에서 불투명한 상호기능성이 존재한다. 이런 장애요인이 극복되려면 규격화된 도시 공간 안에서만 자율 주행차가 효용성을 지닌다는 태도가 필요하다. 결론은 작은 도시의 중앙통제 시스템 안에 자율 주행차의 미래가 있다. 자율 주행차에 대한 기술적인 접근은 일반 도시에서는 구현이 불가능하기 때문에 스마트도시에 맞추어 갈 수밖에 없다.

        카카오프렌즈 캐릭터를 활용한 브랜드 전략에 대한 연구

        This study is based on the case analysis based on David Arker's brand identity strategy theory, which is a single target called Kakao Friends. It distinguishes the main structure of the basic identity system and draws the elements that Kakao Friends has. Analyze intrinsic value, such as functions held by emoticons, and the characteristics of images formed in mobile platform to derive key identity structures. It also analyzes the relationship between its parent company, Kakao Talk, to draw a brand essence and to analyze the characteristics of its collaboration and professional character stores. This presents the core of the brand identity, the essence that binds it, and the structure of the extended identity that re-implement it. Since then, he has introduced his relationship with brand recognition and his value proposition and suggested the limitations of the character. According to the analysis, Kakao Friends characters, which have been linked to Kakao Talk's brand essence, had the core value of identity: accessibility, empathy and deficiency. In addition, extended identities were formed around visual and emotional images embodied by the use of emoticons. Extended identity was serving to offer value to consumers by transforming emoticons while maintaining existing core identities. Furthermore, it has led to stores that sell goods exclusively for their own brand characters, focusing on products that are easy to access. In conclusion, we could see that Kakao Friends is similarly controlling the propensity and design of businesses that serve around the core identity of empathy. This could suggest the formation of a strategic brand identity to have in the high value-added industry and the potential and importance of the character to do so. 본 연구는 카카오프렌즈 캐릭터를 데이비드 아커의 브랜드 아이덴티티 전략 이론에 따라 분석한다. 기본적인 아이덴티티 시스템의 구조를 구분해 브랜드 요소를 도출한다. 브랜드 아이덴티티의 핵심, 이를 묶어주는 에센스, 그리고 이를 다시 구현시켜주는 확장 아이덴티티의 구조를 구분한다. 이를 통하여 브랜드 인지도와의 관계와 가치제안을 분석한다. 분석 결과, 카카오톡의 브랜드 에센스인 연결에서 이어져 온 카카오프렌즈 캐릭터가 접근성과 공감 그리고 결핍이라는 아이덴티티의 핵심 가치를 지니고 있었다. 또한 이모티콘 사용으로 인해 구현된 시각적/정서적 이미지를 중심으로 확장 아이덴티티가 형성되어 있었다. 확장 아이덴티티는 기존의 핵심 아이덴티티를 유지한 상태에서 이모티콘을 변형 및 대입함으로써 소비자에게 가치를 제안하는 역할을 하고 있었다. 더 나아가 자사 브랜드 캐릭터 전용 굿즈 매장으로도 이어졌으며 접근성이 용이한 상품을 판매하고 있었다. 결론으로 카카오프렌즈는 공감의 핵심 아이덴티티를 중심으로 서비스와 디자인을 정체성 있게 조절하고 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 그래서 브랜드가 가진 고유한 통일된 이미지가 형성되고 차후 확장되는 사업에도 영향을 끼쳤다. 고부가가치 산업이 가져야 할 브랜드의 정체성 형성과 이를 위한 캐릭터에 대한 가능성과 중요성을 이 논문을 통하여 제시할 수 있었다.

        고농축 생약 제조기의 설계 및 검증

        Recently, as interest in safe food and ingredient content has increased, the demand for highly concentrated health functional food that can be manufactured at home is increasing. Accordingly, in this study, we developed a galenic maker that can increase the extraction efficiency of herbal medicine(ginseng) ingredients and shorten the manufacturing time. After verifying the safety of the designed components through structural analysis and thermal flow analysis, the dimensions and shape of the galenic maker were determined. A prototype was produced based on the design process and the performance of the product was verified through extraction efficiency and ingredient analysis.
