Design of a Method for Disassembly Works on Recycle Products
Matsumoto, Toshiyuki,Yahata, Yuko,Shida, Keisuke Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers 2009 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.8 No.1
This study proposes a new framework for designing disassembly methods. In recent years, environmental problems have become global issues. Recycling of used products or resources is recognized as a matter of significance since it may help reduce the risk of exhausting natural resources. Considering possible exhaustion of limited natural resources in the near future, reuse of products would gain more environmental significance. As yet, it relies hugely on manual disassembly, which labor cost places burden on the total recycling cost. The purpose of this study is to propose a methodology designing for manual disassembly works, and a creation method of a jig. By focusing on parts' connection and attachment relationship, parts are categorized in 5 categories (parent part, joint key part, attaching key part, child part, and independent part) according to the features that parts possess, and 3 kinds of connection relationships (parent part-joint key part connection, parent part-independent part connection and child part-child part connection) are clarified. Connection relationship and attachment relationship charts have also been created, and utilizing them, disassembly orders are settled, and a disassembly jig is devised. The proposed methodology is also applied to a real product and its work time is improved 42% form 31 to 13 seconds.

Background

Patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) are susceptible to several viruses, including herpes simplex virus (HSV). Some patients experience 1 or more episodes of a severe skin infection caused by HSV termed eczema herpeticum (EH). There are numerous mouse models of AD, but no established model exists for EH.

Objective

We sought to establish and characterize a mouse model of EH.

Methods

We infected AD-like skin lesions with HSV1 to induce severe skin lesions in a dermatitis-prone mouse strain of NC/Nga. Gene expression was investigated by using a microarray and quantitative PCR; antibody titers were measured by means of ELISA; and natural killer (NK) cell, cytotoxic T-cell, regulatory T-cell, and follicular helper T-cell populations were evaluated by using flow cytometry. The role of NK cells in HSV1-induced development of severe skin lesions was examined by means of depletion and adoptive transfer.

Results

Inoculation of HSV1 induced severe erosive skin lesions in eczematous mice, which had an impaired skin barrier, but milder lesions in small numbers of normal mice. Eczematous mice exhibited lower NK cell activity but similar cytotoxic T-cell activity and humoral immune responses compared with normal mice. The role of NK cells in controlling HSV1-induced skin lesions was demonstrated by experiments depleting or transferring NK cells.

Conclusion

A murine model of EH with an impaired skin barrier was established in this study. We demonstrated a critical role of defective NK activities in the development of HSV1-induced severe skin lesions in eczematous mice.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

The reaction of 7-chloro-4-(2-cyano-2-hydroxyvinyl)tetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline 2a with 4-aminopyridine, p-toluidine or p-aminopehnol gave 7-chloro-4-(4-pyridylcarbamoylmethylene)-4,5-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]-quinoxaline 7a, 7-chloro-4-(p-tolylcarbamoylmethylene)-4,5-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline 8a or 7-chloro-4-(p-hydroxyphenylcarbamolymethylene)4,5-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline 9a, respectively. The reac-tion of 7-chloro-4-(2-cyano-2-hydroxyvinyl)-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxaline 2b with 4-aminopyridine, p-toluidine or p-aminophenol afforded 7-chloro-4-(p-tolylcarbamoylmethylene)-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxaline 8b or 7-chloro-4-(p-hydroxyphenylcarbamoylmethylene)-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxaline 9b, respec-tively. The reaction of compound 2a with 2-aminopyridine or 3-aminopyridine provided 7-chloro-4-(2-pyridyl-carbamoylmethylene)-4,5-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline 10 or 7-chloro-4-(3-pyridylcarbamoylmethylene)-4,5-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline 11, respectively. Compounds 7a,b(4-pyridylcarbamoyl)predominated as the enamine tautomer A in a trifluoroacetic acid solution, while compounds 8a,b(p-tolylcarbamoyl)and compounds 9a,b(p-hydroxyphenylcarbamoyl)coexisted as the enamine A and methylene imine B tautomers in a trifluoroacetic acid solution. Moreover, the ratio of the enamine tautomer A elevated in an order of com-pound 11(s-pyridylcarbamoyl), compound 10 (2-pyridylcarbamoyl)and compound 7a (4-pyridylcarbamoyl), reflecting an order of the increase in the pKa values of the aminopyridine side chain moieties. In general, the ratio of the enamine tautomer A was higher in the basic carbamoyl derivatives 7-11 than in the neutral ester derivatives 3a,b. From these results, the basic side chain moiety of the tetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxalines 7a-11 or 1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalines 7b-9b was found to increase the ratio of the enamine tautomer A in trifluo-roacetic acid media.

Submerged arc welding, which is generally used for the corner joint of box-section columns, is a welding process with a high heat input. The influence on the strength and toughness of the heat-affected zone is an important concern, especially when used with a high-performance steel that may be more susceptible to heat input. The ductility of the welded corner joint is one of the important factors to ensure safety against external forces, such as during severe earthquakes. In this study, a series of material and cyclic loading tests of the corner joint comprising SA440C high-performance steel fabricated by submerged arc welding were conducted. The experimental results indicated that the welded corner joint comprising SA440C steel is ductile enough to dissipate input energy caused by the strong ground motion from an earthquake.

The reaction of 7-chlorotetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline 5-oxide 6a with acetic anhydride gave 7-chloro-5-(7-chlorotetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxalin-4-yl)-4,5-dihydro-4-oxotetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline 7a, while the reaction of 7-chloro-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxaline 5-oxide 6b with acetic anhydride afforded 7-chloro-5-(7-chloro-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalin-4-yl)-4,5-dihydro-4-oxo-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxaline 7b and 7-chloro-4,5-dihydro-4-oxo-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxaline 8b. The reaction of compound 6a or 6b with acetic anhydride/acetic acid provided 7-chloro-4,5-dihydro-4-oxo-tetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline 8a or compound 8b, respectively.

The 3-(arylhydrazono)methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoxalines 9-11 were synthesized by the reaction of the quinoxalines 6-8 with various p-substituted benzenediazonium salts. Compounds 9-11 showed the tau-tomeric equilibria between the hydrazone imine A and diazenyl enamine B forms in dimethyl sulfoxide media. The substituent effect on the tautomer ratios of A to B was studied by the nmr spectroscopy to clar-ify that the presence of the ester group R^2 on the hydrazone carbon and electron-donating p-substituent R^1 on the side chain benzene ring exhibited a tendency to increase the ratios of the tautomer A.
