<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We present a study of ZnS/GaN heterostructure photoanodes fabricated by using ZnS thin films deposited on GaN by atomic layer deposition and a significantly enhanced photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting performance was demonstrated. The PEC performance of the photoanodes was investigated for various ZnS thicknesses and GaN doping concentrations. The photocurrent density of the ZnS/GaN photoanode at zero bias was enhanced by a factor of 1.75 compared to that for the reference GaN structure. Furthermore, significantly enhanced photoanode stability was observed with the optimized ZnS coating. The high performance of the ZnS/GaN photoanode is attributed to the type-II band alignment of the heterojunction, which forms a potential barrier for electron injection to the electrolyte while facilitating hole transfer. Therefore, using a ZnS cocatalyst coated on GaN is a promising technique to fabricate photoanodes for PEC-based solar energy harvesting.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
Photoelectrochemical Characterization of p-type InAlP on GaAs for Solar Water Splitting Application
Mostafa Afifi Hassan,강진호,Santosh S. Patil,Muhammad Ali Johar,류상완,박석인,송진동 한국물리학회 2019 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.74 No.2
The photoelectrochemical characteristics of p-InAlP grown on GaAs were investigated to exploit the potential of that material future as a photocathode in solar water splitting. The at band potential was measured, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was performed to propose an equivalent circuit model and circuit elements tted for charge transport analysis. Low photocatalytic activity was attributed to the band alignment with the water redox level. Since the valence band of InAlP is close to the water oxidation level, it causes inecient hole transport to the counter electrode and the accumulation of holes in the photocathode.
Chitosan effects on glass matrices evaluated by biomaterial. MAS-NMR and biological investigations
Hassane Oudadesse,Eric Wers,Xuang Vuong Bui,Claire Roiland,Imane Akhiyat,Amany Mostafa,Hassan Chaair,Hicham Benhayoune,Joel Fauré,Pascal Pellen-Mussi,Bruno Bureau 한국화학공학회 2013 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.30 No.9
Bioactive glass 46S6 and biodegradable therapeutic polymer (Chitosan: CH) have been elaborated to form 46S6-CH composite by freeze-drying process. The kinetics of chemical reactivity and bioactivity at the surface were investigated by using physicochemical techniques, particularly solid-state MAS-NMR. Immortalized cell line used to construct multicellular spheroids was employed as three-dimensional (3D) cell cultures for in vitro studies. Obtained results showed a novel structure of the composite; the chemical treatment (ultrasound, magnetic stirring, freeze drying process and lyophilization) led the bioactive glass particles to be loaded in the chitosan-based materials. 29Si and 31P MAS-NMR results showed the emergence of two new species, QSi 3(OH) and QSi 4, which are characteristic of the vitreous network dissolution in simulated body fluid (SBF). MAS-NMR also confirmed the formation of amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) at the surface of the initial 46S6-CH. Three-dimensional (3D) cell cultures highlighted the effect of chitosan, where the cell viability reached up to 78% in 46S6-CH composite and up to 67% in 46S6. The association of (CH) and bioactive glass (BG) matrix promotes a highly significant bioactivity, demonstrating surface bone formation and satisfactory behavior in biological environment.

OBJECTIVES: Depression, which is the most common comorbidity in breast cancer (BC) patients, has adverse effects on patients’ quality of life, disease progress, and survival. METHODS: The protocol of this study was registered in PROSPERO (registration No. CRD42019121494). We electronically searched published studies through January 2019 with the aim of finding articles that investigated the prevalence of depression among BC survivors. Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed/MEDLINE, Science Direct, and Google Scholar were searched to obtain relevant published studies. This review included 14 cross-sectional and 4 cohort studies published from 2000 to 2018. We used a random-effects model to conduct the meta-analysis and generated a summary estimate for the pooled prevalence with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). A subgroup analysis was also conducted based on the depression assessment tool used and the study design. RESULTS: The total sample size of the studies contained 2,799 women with BC, including 1,228 women who were diagnosed with depression. The pooled prevalence of depression among Iranian women with BC was 46.83% (95% CI, 33.77 to 59.88) with significant heterogeneity (I2=98.5%; p<0.001). The prevalence of depression ranged from 14.00% (95% CI, 4.91 to 23.09) to 95.90% (95% CI, 91.97 to 99.83). The results of the subgroup analyses suggested that the depression assessment tool, year of publication, and study design were sources of heterogeneity. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate a high prevalence of depression among BC patients, underscoring the urgent need for clinicians and health authorities to provide well-defined social and psychological supportive care programs for these patients.

Samy M. Mostafa,Ehab f.Adb-elfattah,Mostafa A. Hassan,Young Bae Jun,허걸 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2021 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.22 No.3
The concept crossing intuitionistic structures set is combination of intuitionistic fuzzy set and $N$- function. In this paper, the concept crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals are introduced and several properties are investigated. Also, the relations between crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals and crossing intuitionistic ideals are given. The image and the pre-image of crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals under homomorphism of $KU$-algebras are defined and how the image and the pre-image of crossing intuitionistic KU-ideals under homomorphism of KU-algebras become crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals are studied. Moreover, the Cartesian product of crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals in Cartesian product $KU$-algebras is established.

Samy M. Mostafa,S. H. Han,Ehab F. Adb-elfattah,Mostafa A. Hassan,허걸,백종일 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2022 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.23 No.2
A crossing octahedron set is composed of three components : interval-valued fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set and negative-valued function. In this paper, we first introduce the concept of crossing octahedron set and investigate its properties. Further, we define a crossing octahedron Q-ideal, Q-subalgebra and BCK-ideal of a Q-algebra, and we deal with their relationships. In addition, the homomorphic images and pre-images of a crossing octahedron Q-ideal are also studied. Related properties of crossing octahedron Q-ideals are explored and discussed. Finally, the Cartesian product of two crossing octahedron Q-ideals is investigated.

El-Owaidy, Hassan Mostafa,Ragab, Abdelwahab Abbas,Eldeeb, Ahmed Abdel-Moneim,Abuelela, Waleed Mostafa Kamal Department of Mathematics 2014 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.54 No.4
In this paper, we establish some new nonlinear integral inequalities of Gronwall-Bellman type. These inequalities generalize some famous inequalities which can be used in applications as handy tools to study the qualitative as well as quantitative properties of solutions of some nonlinear ordinary differential and integral equations. More accurately we extend certain results which have been proved in A. Abdeldaim and M. Yakout [1] and H. El-Owaidy, A. A. Ragab, A. Abdeldaim [7] too.
Development of cellulosic‑based hemostatic dressing with antibacterial activity
Mostafa Goodarz,Amir Behzadnia,Hassan Mohammadi 한국의류학회 2022 Fashion and Textiles Vol.9 No.1
A cotton-based hemostatic dressing featuring antibacterial properties was developed with the potential of being used in trafc accidents to control hemorrhage. Cotton gauze was oxidized initially in an acidic medium and then coated by PVA nanofbers and/or PVA nanofbers loaded with Ciprofoxacin. Fabricated dressings were characterized by FTIR analysis and SEM images. The FTIR spectrum showed the existence of carboxyl groups on the oxidized cotton gauze’s surface. The carboxyl groups content was estimated to be 17.3±0.3 for the oxidized sample with a mixture of nitric acid and phosphoric acid for 24 h (OCF-Mixed acid24). Moreover, the efect of the exposure duration of cotton gauze in the acidic medium on the blood coagulation activity was assessed. It was observed that the OCF-Mixed acid24 sample exhibited an agreeable hemostatic activity (BCIs=10). The antibacterial activity against E. coli and S. aureus bacteria was also captured for the coated cotton gauze by the PVA nanofbers loaded with Ciprofoxacin.
