Coloration of Textile Care Symbols Applying Color Images
Masashi Kobayashi,Yuko Mori,Ikuko Okamoto 한국색채학회 2017 AIC 2017 Jeju Vol.2017 No.10
In this article, a proposal for coloration of textile care symbols is presented for rising the intelligibility of the meaning of symbols and rousing consumers’ interest in the care symbols and care labels. First, the questionnaire survey of the image of JIS safety colors (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, White, and Black) was performed by using the ten adjective pairs, necessary to express the meaning of the symbols such as warm - cool, strong (action) - mild (action), with five-point scale. With reference to the results, the various colored symbols were designed by colorization of the additional or number parts of symbols, indicating temperature (numbers in washing symbols), mechanical action (under bar with washing symbols) and so on. Additionally, the symbols were indicated on the computer display as stimulus and evaluated by the method of ranking test. It was confirmed that there are meaning of the symbols easily expressed by color such as temperature, but difficultly expressed such as mildness of mechanical or chemical action.
RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN SOLID LIQUID SEPERATION TECHNOLOGY IN JAPAN
Kobayashi,Kazumasa,Shirato,Mompei,Iwata,Masashi 강원대학교 부설 창강제지 기술연구소 1998 제지기술 Vol.- No.12
There have been many contributions to the improvements and progresses in solid liquid separation technologies in Japan. Fundamental concepts for electro-osmotic dewatering, the design of the automatic recessed-plate-type filter press with both the membrane compression and the electroosmotic devices, and its actual performance will be discussed. The combination of mechanical compression and electroosmosis is effective in removing liquid from sludges for which conventional mechanical dewatering are not successful. Developments of fully automatic filter presses of the plateless-type and the plate-and-frame type, both are available at lower prices, will be introduced. A new centrifugal decanter-type thickener has attained an extremely lower power consumption by using the method of the axial discharge of bath the thickened sludge and separated liquid. A dynamic pulse type spray-dryer is developed basing upon dynamic expression by use of a new pulse combustion engine. A dehydrator with multi rotor-disks multi-axes is developed on a rather unique concept of deliquoring.

The ion behavior in Heliotron J plasmas is investigated through measurements of the ion energy distribution function, which is measured with a charge-exchange neutral particle analyzer system. The bulk ion temperature is estimated from the measured energy spectrum. In NBI heated plasma, the pitch angle distribution of energy spectra is measured. Dependence of the high energy tail and bulk ion temperature of injection power is investigated in an ion-cyclotron range of frequency heating experiment.)

Purpose: The fixed flexion view (FFV) of the knee is considered useful for evaluating the joint space when assessing the severity of osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee. To clarify the usefulness of FFV for evaluation of the joint space and severity of knee OA, this study evaluated changes in the joint space on the FFV and standing extended view (SEV) in patients with knee OA. Materials and Methods: The SEV and FFV images were acquired in 567 patients (1,102 knees) who visited the hospital with a chief complaint of knee joint pain. Medial joint space width (MJSW) and Kellgren-Lawrence (K-L) classification assessed using the SEV and FFV images were compared. Results: Mean MJSW was significantly smaller when assessed on the FFV than on the SEV (3.02±1.55 mm vs. 4.31±1.30 mm; p<0.001). The K-L grade was the same or higher on the FFV than on the SEV. Conclusions: The FFV is more useful than the SEV for evaluating the joint space in OA knees. Treatment strategies in patients with knee OA should be determined based on routinely acquired FFV images.
Angiogenesis in newly regenerated bone by secretomes of human mesenchymal stem cells
Katagiri, Wataru,Kawai, Takamasa,Osugi, Masashi,Sugimura-Wakayama, Yukiko,Sakaguchi, Kohei,Kojima, Taku,Kobayashi, Tadaharu Korean Association of Maxillofacial Plastic and Re 2017 Maxillofacial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Vol.39 No.-
Background: For an effective bone graft for reconstruction of the maxillofacial region, an adequate vascular network will be required to supply blood, osteoprogenitor cells, and growth factors. We previously reported that the secretomes of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC-CM) contain numerous growth factors such as insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1, transforming growth factor $(TGF)-{\beta}1$, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which can affect the cellular characteristics and behavior of regenerating bone cells. We hypothesized that angiogenesis is an important step for bone regeneration, and VEGF is one of the crucial factors in MSC-CM that would enhance its osteogenic potential. In the present study, we focused on VEGF in MSC-CM and evaluated the angiogenic and osteogenic potentials of MSC-CM for bone regeneration. Methods: Cytokines in MSC-CM were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were cultured with MSC-CM or MSC-CM with anti-VEGF antibody (MSC-CM + anti-VEGF) for neutralization, and tube formation was evaluated. For the evaluation of bone and blood vessel formation with micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) and for the histological and immunohistochemical analyses, a rat calvarial bone defect model was used. Results: The concentrations of IGF-1, VEGF, and $TGF-{\beta}1$ in MSC-CM were $1515.6{\pm}211.8pg/mL$, $465.8{\pm}108.8pg/mL$, and $339.8{\pm}14.4pg/mL$, respectively. Tube formation of HUVECs, bone formation, and blood vessel formation were increased in the MSC-CM group but decreased in the MSC-CM + anti-VEGF group. Histological findings suggested that new bone formation in the entire defect was observed in the MSC-CM group although it was decreased in the MSC-CM + anti-VEGF group. Immunohistochemistry indicated that angiogenesis and migration of endogenous stem cells were much more abundant in the MSC-CM group than in the MSC-CM + anti-VEGF group. Conclusions: VEGF is considered a crucial factor in MSC-CM, and MSC-CM is proposed to be an adequate therapeutic agent for bone regeneration with angiogenesis.
Efficient detectors for MIMO‐OFDM systems under spatial correlation antenna arrays
David William Marques Guerra,Rafael Masashi Fukuda,Ricardo Tadashi Kobayashi,Taufik Abrão 한국전자통신연구원 2018 ETRI Journal Vol.40 No.5
This work analyzes the performance of implementable detectors for the multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique under specific and realistic operation system conditions, including antenna correlation and array configuration. A time‐domain channel model was used to evaluate the system performance under realistic communication channel and system scenarios, including different channel correlation, modulation order, and antenna array configurations. Several MIMO‐OFDM detectors were analyzed for the purpose of achieving high performance combined with high capacity systems and manageable computational complexity. Numerical Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate the channel selectivity effect, while the impact of the number of antennas, adoption of linear against heuristic‐based detection schemes, and the spatial correlation effect under linear and planar antenna arrays are analyzed in the MIMO‐OFDM context.
