<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A reversible red-yellow color change in PDA (polydiacetylene) was achieved by controlling the head group of the diacetylene molecules. Typical PDAs show blue-red color transitions, and this reversible red-yellow color transition could be applied to various sensing applications. The introduction of an alkyl substituent to the head group as an internal stimulus resulted in a primary blue-red color change, and this change became clearer as the length of the alkyl chain became longer. The PDA vesicle, once colored red in response to an internal stimulus, showed a reversible and very selective red-yellow color change in response to a second external stimulus, such as temperature or pH.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A reversible red-yellow color transition of PDAs was achieved by alkyl chain induced PCDA-Oct. </LI> <LI> Stepwise blue-red-yellow color changes are suggested through internal and external stimuli. </LI> <LI> Both temperature and pH sensing were successfully performed using modified PCDA-Oct. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
Sharp and Bright Photoluminescence Emission of Single-Crystalline Diacetylene Nanoparticles

Amorphous nanoparticles (NPs) of diacetylene (DA) molecules were prepared by using a reprecipitation method. After crystallization through a solvent-vapor annealing process, the highly crystalline DA NPs show different structural and optical characteristics compared with the amorphous DA NPs. The single crystal structure of DA NPs was confirmed by using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) and wide angle X-ray scattering (WAXS). The luminescence color and the photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of the DA NPs were measured using color charge-coupled device (CCD) images and high-resolution laser confocal microscope (LCM). The crystalline DA NPs, emit bright green light compared with amorphous DA NPs and the main PL peak of the crystalline DA NPs exhibits relatively narrow, blue-shift phenomena due to enhanced interactions between the DA molecules in the nano-size crystal structure.

Polydiacetylene (PDA) has been studied as a self-assembly material that is able to confirm the results by visual inspection in response to specific conditions using its colorimetric characteristics, which is caused by a conjugated backbone of alternating double and triple bonds in Diacetylene (DA). We, in this study, focused on modification of PDA vesicles with crown-6-ether having the property to capture Pb2+ ion that particularly affects children’s physical growth. Furthermore, for the effective absorption of the heavy metal, the nanoporous silica (SiO2) was synthesized by leaching and calcination step though silica powder extracted from rice husk. Economic and environmental friendly characteristics was obtained at the same time, comparing with conventional experimental which is used expensive silanol precursor. Consequently we developed composites of PDA-SiO<sub>2</sub> to apply colorimetric detector for Pb2+ ion by the naked eye.

With the title “The Possibility of Jissen-Kenkyu in Japanese Language Education: from Historical Development towards Sustainability”, this paper discussed the historical development of the concept of action, starting from the author’s initial awareness of Jissen-Kenkyu to Action research and Jissen-Kenkyu. Then by taking the so-called ‘PDCA Cycle’ as an example, this study made a critical examination of ‘action research method supremacy’ and explained how the idea of ‘action=research’ evolved into the present concept. In addition, as a discussion of the task of Jissen-Kenkyu, this study considered its significance and direction. Finally, this paper elucidated the prospect of creating dialogues between self / others / society with the title of ‘the future of Japanese language education.’ 本稿では、「日本語教育における実践研究の可能性-その歴史的展開から持続可能性へ―」と題して、私自身の実 践研究への意識のはじまりから始め、アクションリサーチから実践研究へという実践概念の歴史的展開を論じたうえで、い わゆる「PDCAサイクル」を例にして実践研究方法至上主義を批判的に考察して、「実践=研究」という思想の形成過 程に至る道筋を示した。さらに、実践研究のテーマという課題をめぐって、その意味と方向性を論じ、最後に、日本語教育 の未来へと題して、自己・他者・社会の対話を創り出すための展望を明らかにした。
