애니메이션 ‘켈스의 비밀’ 장면에서의 장식적 스타일에 관한 연구

애니메이션의 창작에서 애니메이션 장면은 일반적으로 애니메이션 캐릭터의 퍼포먼스를 위한 것이다. 애니메이션 장면의 디자인은 요구에 부합하여야 하며, 이야기가 발생한 역사 배경, 문화 형태, 지리 환경과 시대 특성을 보여주어야 한다. 이야기의 발생 시간과 장소를 명확하게 표현하고 영상의 전반적인 스타일과 결합하여 디자인하며, 애니메이션 캐릭터의 퍼포먼스에서 적합한 장소를 제공해 주어야 한다. 창작 과정에서 다양한 창작 요소를 결합하고 활용하여 표현할 수 있는 창작 스타일과 특성도 갈수록 다채로워지고 창작자들의 서로 다른 개성과 감정을 반영할 수 있다. 그리고 애니메이션 예술에 잠재적인 장식성은 끊임없이 우리에게 새로운 심미적 체험과 활력을 제공해주고 있다. 본 논문은 Les Armateurs, Vivi Film, Cartoon Saloon 등 애니메이션 제작회사에서 톰 무어(Tomm Moore)와 노라 트메이(Nora Twomey)는 감독한 ‘켈스의 비밀(The Secret Of Kells)’을 대상으로 연구하였다. ‘켈스의 비밀’에서 나타나는 독특한 장식적 스타일이 장면 조형에서의 응용에 대한 분석을 통하여 장식적 스타일이 애니메이션 작품의 주제와 형식에 미치는 영향을 연구하고 장식적 스타일 애니메이션 조형을 명확하게 이해할 수 있다. ‘켈스의 비밀’ 장면에서의 장식적 설계, 색채 및 렌즈 언어 등을 시각으로 하여 장식적 스타일이 애니메이션에서의 응용을 분석하였다. 이는 미학적인 리듬을 나타낼 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 전통적인 문화 예술에 대한 강력한 해석이라고 할 수도 있다. 장식성과 애니메이션의 결합은 애니메이션 예술의 특징을 확대할 수 있고 작품도 더욱 재미있으며, 흡인력이 있게 할 수 있다. ‘켈스의 비밀’의 예술 구성 형식은 매우 풍부하며, 추상적인 구성 형식, 풍부한 기하학적 도형 및 대량의 기호들이 예술 구성의 형식을 영화 속으로 융합하여 영상의 화면감(画面感)이 풍부하고 매력이 있게 하였다. 장식적 스타일은 특성이 있는 창작 스타일로 애니메이션 장면에서의 응용이 시각적 예술을 풍부하게 하고 장식적 미와 형식적 미를 강화하고 시각적 미를 증강시킬 수 있으며, 뚜렷한 특성을 나타낼 수 있다. 또한, 시각적으로 장식적 예술은 모든 예술에 대한 미학적 연구의 기초를 구성하기 때문에 장식은 애니메이션에 대해 매우 중요한 연구 의미가 있다. 장식적 스타일의 독특한 예술 리듬, 광역적인 문화 콘텐츠(Contents) 및 풍부한 화면 표현 형식은 애니메이션 스타일의 발전에 새로운 사고 방향을 제공해 줄 수 있음으로써 애니메이션 예술의 창작 발전에 더 넓은 공간을 제공할 수 있다. In the creation of cartoons, the scenes usually serve for the performance of animated characters. The d animation scenes shall be designed as required and present the historical background, cultural features, geographical environment and characteristics of the times of the story. It is of great importance to describe time and place of the story, design the scenes in combination with the overall style of the film, provide suitable occasions for the animated characters to perform, and absorb and learn from various creative elements in the creative process. The creative style and characteristics displayed are increasingly colorful, reflecting the different personalities and emotions of creators. In addition, the decoration potential in animation art continuously provides us with new aesthetic feelings and vitality. In the present study, the cartoons released by companies such as Les Armateurs, Vivi Film, Cartoon Saloon, etc., and The Secret of Kells directed by Tom Moore and Nora Tomei are used as the research objects. The unique decorative style presented in the film and its application of the decorative style in the scene are explored and analyzed. And then, the author explores the influence of decorative style on the theme and style of the work, and then has a clear understanding of decorative style animation modeling. From the perspective of the decorative design, color, and lens language of the film, discussing the application of decorative style in animated films can not only show the rhythm of beauty, but also provide a powerful explanation of traditional culture and art. The fusion of decoration and animated film is an expansion of the artistic characteristics of animation, and it also makes the work more interesting and attractive. The artistic composition forms in the whole film are extremely rich. The abstract composition forms, rich geometric figures and a large number of symbols make the artistic composition forms integrate into the film, creating a rich and charming picture. As a creating style, the animation decorative style in the scene greatly enriches the visual art of animation, strengthens the beauty of decoration and form, enhances the beauty of visual form, and also reflects a distinct personality style. It is the visual decoration art of animated films that inevitably constitutes the starting point and foundation of all aesthetic research on art. Decoration also has very important research significance for animated films. Its unique artistic rhythm, wide-area cultural connotation and rich picture expression forms can provide new ideas and wind vanes for the development of animated film style, thereby providing a broader space for the creation and development of animation art.

중국 신석기시대 대표적인 문화유형별 토기 장식 문양의 특징 분석 연구

Neolithic Age was a very important stage in the social development of prehistoric times in China. The birth of pottery in the Neolithic Age became the most prominent social and cultural turning point of this era. In addition, various aspects have shown that the various changes in living environments and living tools produced by the birth of pottery have become one of the important factors affecting the development of culture. In particular, the various types, forms, and decorative patterns on potteries in the Neolithic Age can be regarded as the valuable materials and evidence of cultural and spiritual consciousness and lifestyle in different areas in the Neolithic Age from the perspective of cultural anthropology. Accordingly, this study explores and analyzes the characteristics of decorative patterns on pottery in the Chinese Neolithic age by investigating various pottery materials. Through this research, the symbolic significance, development patterns and characteristics of different cultural types can be understood. From the perspective of the natural sciences, the evolution of the animal and plant patterns on the pottery reflects the transformation of the ancient ancestors from the fishing-and- hunting economy to the planting economy. From the perspective of art history, the pattern decoration on Neolithic pottery can be regarded as the pioneer of Chinese culture and the originator of art. Taking the decorative patterns on Neolithic pottery as the study object, this study used various study methods including documentary method, semiotics, archaeology etc. to analyze the decorative features of pottery patterns with different cultural types in the Neolithic Age. The main body of this study can be divided into three parts. In the first part, through sorting out and summarizing the representative patterns of pottery with different cultural types in the Neolithic Age, their respective decorative characteristics were analyzed. In the second part, the patterns appearing on potteries in the Neolithic Age were divided into three categories: geometric patterns, animal patterns and plant patterns. The characteristics and evolution of different types of patterns are analyzed and studied with examples. Finally, from the perspective of pattern structure, the pottery patterning methods in the Neolithic Age were investigated. 신석기시대는 중국 선사시대 사회 발전사에 있어서 매우 중요한 단계였고, 신석기시대의 토기의 탄생은 이 시대의 가장 두드러진 사회적으로 문화적으로 큰 전환점이 되었다. 또한 토기의 탄생으로부터 발생된 여러 가지 생활환경과 생활도구의 변화는 보다 다양한 측면으로 반영되어 문화적 발전 요인을 결정하는 중요한 요소의 하나가 되었다. 특히 신석기시대의 토기에 나타나는 다양한 유형과 형태 및 장식 문양은, 문화인류학적 관점에서도 신석기시대 일정한 지역의 문화와 정신 의식 및 생활양식에 대한 매우 귀중한 자료이자 증거라 할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 중국 신석기시대 토기의 장식 문양에 대하여 그 특징을 고찰하고 다양한 토기 자료들을 조사하여 이를 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 문화유형별 상징적 의미와 시대적 발전 양상 및 특징을 이해하고자 하며, 이를 자연과학적 관점에서 보면, 토기에 장식된 동물 문양 및 식물 문양에서 나타나는 변화의 과정을 통해 고대인들은 수렵어로 생활에서 경작생활로의 전환이 어떻게 반영되었는지를 찾고자 한다. 또한 미술사적으로 보면, 신석기 시대의 토기 문양 장식은 중국 예술문화의 효시이자 중국 미술의 원초적인 표현 양식이라는 점도 인식하고자 한다. 본 연구를 위하여 신석기시대 토기의 장식 문양을 연구대상으로 하고 문헌적, 기호학적, 고고학적 등의 다양한 연구 영역에서 신석기시대의 문화유형별 토기문양의 장식적 특징을 양식적으로 분석하는 것을 그 범위로 하였다. 본 연구의 세부적인 내용으로는 주로 크게 세 부분으로 나누어 논술하고자 하였다. 첫째로, 신석기시대의 문화유형별 대표적인 문양의 정리를 통해 각각의 장식 특징을 분석하고자 하였다. 다음으로, 신석기시대 토기에 나타난 문양을 기하학적 문양, 동물 문양, 식물 문양의 세 유형으로 나누어 사례를 통해 유형별 문양의 특징 및 변천 과정을 분석하고자 하였다. 마지막으로 신석기시대의 문양에서 나타난 표현 양식을 구조적 관점에서 조사하고 연구하였다. 따라서 중국 신석기 시대의 대표적인 문화유형별 토기의 장식 문양을 연구자의 분석을 근거로 하여 정리한 결과, 토기는 조형적으로나 장식 문양으로나 소재가 풍부하고 독특한 장식 문양은 중국 고대인들의 삶에 있어서 미적 표현양식의 수준이 매우 높았으며, 중국의 높은 도자문화의 기초가 되었음을 인식할 수 있었다. 더불어, 본 연구가 중국 고대 문화를 보존 계승하고 향후 중국 토기를 연구하고 개발하는데 기초자료가 되기를 바란다.

R. G. 로벨의 실내장식 연구: 석조전 접견실과 귀빈 대기실을 중심으로

2014년에 대한제국역사관으로 개방된 석조전은 여러 사람들의 협업으로 실내가 재현되었다. 본고는 석조전 건립 당시의 실내장식가 리처드 굴번 로벨Richard Goulburn Lovell, 1861~1937이 맡았던 실내 장식 경향과 컬러 컨셉 등을 분석하여 석조전 실내 재현을 재고했다. 이를 위해 로벨이 남긴 인테리어 디자인 작품집을 중심으로 석조전과 유사한 실내장식 경향을 파악했다. 로벨의 작품집 속에서 석조전과 유사한 양식을 가진 디자인을 선별했다. 이는 양식적으로는 18세기 후반 신고전주의 양식을 재해석한 네오 조지안 양식으로서 20세기 초반 주로 ‘아담 스타일’로 일컬어지는 것이다. 또한 현존하는 사진과 텍스트 사료를 보다 면밀히 분석하여 현재 석조전 접견실의 커튼, 카펫, 패브릭 컬러와 다른 컬러 컨셉을 추정했다. 사진 사료 속 가리개를 확대하고 국립고궁박물관에 소장된 유물인 녹색 가리개와 대조하여 그 패턴이 같은 것임을 밝혔다. 텍스트 사료에 근거하여 접견실의 지배색을 황금색으로 추정하여 접견실의 컬러 컨셉을 ‘그린+골드’로 제안했다. 로벨은 공간 전체의 조화를 고려해 컬러의 그라데이션과 콘트라스트를 강조했는데 석조전 접견실의 경우 그라데이션에 무게를 둔 것으로 보인다. 본고에서는 로벨과 메이플사Maple & Co.의 협업으로 탄생한 석조전 귀빈 대기실이 담긴 메이플사의 광고를 처음으로 공개했고 이를 통해 1913년 귀빈 대기실의 모습을 살폈다. 천장의 플라스터는 아담 스타일로 꾸며졌고 가구와 소품이 2023년 현재 보다 많았다. 의자의 형태와 배치 방식, 샹들리에의 형태 등이 기존과 다르며 카펫이 깔려있음을 알 수 있다. 앞으로도 새로운 사료의 발굴과 분석을 통해 석조전을 비롯한 근대 건축물의 실내장식을 보다 깊이 이해할 수 있기를 기대한다. The Seokjojeon Hall at Deoksugung Palace was inaugurated for public access in 2014, establishing itself as the Daehan Empire History Museum through collaborative efforts that contributed to its realization. is study examines the interior decoration of Seokjojeon Hall by analyzing the trend and color concepts of the original decorator, Richard Goulburn Lovell, through his works, including Home Interiors (1913). Similar interior designs to those of Seokjojeon Hall were selected from his aforementioned work collections. The decorative style can be termed as "Neo-Georgian”. This style is the reinterpretation of the late 18th century Neo-Classical style, and in the early 20th century it was often referred to as the “Adam Style”. Furthermore, a closer analysis was conducted on existing photographs and textual materials to discern the current color concepts of the curtains, carpets, and fabric colors in the audience chamber of Seokjojeon Hall, contrasting them with other color concepts. rough the enlargement of the interior photograph of Seokjojeon and a meticulous comparison with the corresponding green screen archived in the National Palace Museum, verication ensued, arming the identical nature of the patterns in both representations. Additionally, drawing from textual sources, it was conjectured that the primary color of the reception room was gold. Consequently, a color concept for the audience chamber was posited, suggesting a combination of green and gold. Lovell underscored the importance of color gradation and contrast in mindful curation of the overall spatial harmony. However, in the context of the Seokjojeon audience chamber, it appears that particular emphasis was placed on achieving a nuanced gradation. In this article, the first-ever unveiling of Maple & Co.'s advertisement featuring the Seokjojeon Reception Room, born from the collaboration between Lovell and Maple & Co., allowed for a vivid portrayal of the appearance of the reception room in 1913. The ceiling plaster was adorned in the Adam style, and the furniture and accessories were more abundant than in the current year of 2023. Dierences can be observed in the form and arrangement of chairs, the shape of chandeliers, and the presence of carpets, all distinct from the existing arrangement. A deeper understanding of the interior decoration of modern architectural structures, including that of Seokjojeon, is anticipated to be achieved through the discovery and analysis of new historical resources.

일본 소녀문화의 서양 전유방식에 대한 연구

소녀잡지의 일러스트레이션에서 출발한 일본 소녀문화의 독특한 이미지는 일본 만화, 애니메이션, 게임의 시각 이미지의 출처이다. 긴 역사와 전통을 지닌 일본 소녀문화는 일본의 독자적인 문화로 평가받고 있으며 소녀문화의 가와이이(かわいい) 미학은 일본 고유의 미학으로 조명된다. 그러나 소녀문화의 가와이이 미학은 서양적인 이미지들을 통해 표현되어 왔다. 일본 소녀문화의 핵심이미지는 서양의 이미지를 전유하여 구성되어 왔으며 그 가와이이 미학에서 핵심적인 요소는 장식성이다. 소녀문화의 가와이이 미학에서 장식성은 판타지를 구현하기 위한 필수요소이다. 일본 소녀문화가 장식을 위해 동원하는 서양적인 상징과 이미지는 빅토리아 스타일, 아르누보, 디즈니로 정리된다. 이 연구는 소녀문화의 역사 안에서 이 세 갈래의 서양적인 이미지들이 어떻게 전유되었는가를 살펴보았다. 그것을 바탕으로 가와이이 미학의 장식성 자체가 현대 소비문화에서 갖는 의미를 짚어보고, 장식성을 매개로 동서양 역학관계의 변화와 문화 간 상호침투성에 대한 연구의 필요성을 제안한다. The Kawaii aesthetics of Japanese girl culture is the source of visual images of Japanese manga, animation, and games. Understanding the core image and essence of Japanese girl culture, the accurate understanding of Korean kidult consumption and retro consumption is possible. The key element in the aesthetics of Kawaii girl’s culture in Japan is fanciness - the quality of being fancy. It is decorativeness that realizes fantasy. The symbols and images that Japanese girl culture mobilizes for the decoration of real daily life are not Japanese, but Western. Victorian style, Art Nouveau, and Disney were exclusively inherited in the history of Japanese girl culture. The Kawaii aesthetics is full of Western images. Japanese appropriation of the West in girl culture shows the change of East-West dynamics, and the interpenetration between cultures through the meaning of decorativeness, and fanciness itself.

This study aims to investigate the socio-cultural background of Poulaines, which influenced fashion and contemporary shoe design. Analyzing the characteristics of the Poulaines provided basic data for different shoes. The study method utilized previous studies to explore the concept and characteristics of Poulaines. In the empirical analysis, shoe design data mainly came from collections that illustrate formative elements of contemporary shoe design from the 2010 S/S season to the 2020 S/S season. A total of 709 photo materials were collected and analyzed. The results showed that the morphological characteristics of Poulaines were exaggerated to symbolize classes of the past and sexual expression. The expanding structure was divided into the fore nose, heel, and top-line and featured a design that expressed the formative beauty of Poulaines. Additionally, the decorative desire to represent wealth and class using various materials introduced new designs into contemporary shoe designs while showing extreme decorativeness through over-trimming and color contrast. Furthermore, the heterogeneous characteristics that come from the change and harmony of the shoes’ body and heel that deviated from the existing shoe shapes were classified into the dissolution of shapes and mixing and matching. Thus, they broke the monotonous silhouette of shoes and gave variety delicately.
