The purpose of this study is to develop the reference service in the school library. Everyone asks questions and everyone likes to get the right answers. The work of a reference department covers everything necessary to help the reader in his inquiries. There are four major divisions in the library; acquisitions, preparations, circulation, and reference. The writer assumes that the reference service division is the most important one in the library. The reference service is a process involving fact-finding and problem solving on his own with the use of the tools the library affords. The reference librian makes herself responsible for the reference service division. She is required to answer correctly and quickly to all the questions happening in the library, so she must be well trained for her duties. Good perosnality, wide range of knowledge, faithfulness, accuracy and reliability are the golden key to keep good relationship with library users. From reference books, large and small, most of the questions of the world can be answered. All good reference books have something in comman. Authority, fairness, wide scope and good arrangement are important in judging reference books, too. If there is no well organized reference service division in the school library, we can’t expect for its healthy growing. The writer writes in addition the list of main reference books for the school library. This study is divided into seven parts as follow: 1. Preface 2. Definition of the reference work 3. 이 글은 '정보봉사'라는 용어의 사용을 사례로 하여 우리 문헌정보학계의 전문용어 사용과 관련된 개념적 모호성과 허구성을 드러내 보이고 있다. 구체적으로 우리 학계가 참고봉사를 대체하는 용어로 사용하고 있는 '정보봉사'의 역사를 추적하면서, 우리의 정보봉사가 사용 당위성의 근거로 삼고 있는 미국의 'information services'와 실질적으로 어떠한 차이가 있는지에 대해 각자의 역사와 이론적 기반을 비교하면서 분석하고 있다. 이 과정에서 현재 우리 강단에서는 정보봉사라는 용어가 어느 정도 사용되고 있으며 지적 토대가 되는 이론적 영역을 무엇이라고 판단하고 있는지, 더불어 우리 도서관에서는 정보봉사를 어떠한 의미로 이해하면서 관련 업무를 수행하고 있는지 등에 대해 논의하고 있다. 이 글의 궁극적인 목적은 '정보봉사'라는 용어의 사용이 단순한 외양의 모방이 아닌 속내의 변혁을 동반하는 실질적인 패러다임의 변환으로 이어지도록 우리 학계의 노력을 촉구하는데 있다. This study investigates both arbitrariness and misrepresentation in the terminology of Korea's LIS field with an example of the term 'information services.' The focus is on analyzing the differences in the Term's history and theoretical base between American LIS field and Korea's. Discussed in details are the popularity and usage of the Term in Korea's LIS field and libraries. The ultimate intention of this study is to motivate the Korea's LIS scholars to endeavor for theoretical accomplishments with regard to 'information services,' which can justify the change of term from 'reference services' to 'information services.'

What is the image of Strike in Korea? Searching news about strike in Korea, we can easily find words like ‘prosecution, security, police, take stern measures, illegal, arrest, seizure, imprisonment’. Are those strikes imposing illegal actions needed to be punished by the criminal law? How do other countries respond to strikes? Criminal Accountability of Industrial Actions in UK, Germany, France Japan already have been introduced to us before. Among those countries, none punishes strike by criminal law. Then what about the other countires that we have not heard of? That question was starting point of this paper. The paper examines strikes and criminal accountability in Italy where is know as the ‘paradise of strikes’.

Using Value-Added Processes to Assess the Value of Information

본 연구는 참고 업무 분야에 전문가 대체 시스템(expert system)이라는 전산학의 시 스템 개발 기술을 도입하여 질문이 발생하게 된 경위와 질문의 규명, 그리고 적절한 해답을 제공하는데 필요한 지식을 사전에 지식 베이스로 구축함으로써 이용자 및 참고 사서가 해답 을 얻는데 유용하게 이용될 수 있도록 한다는데 그 목적이 있다. The spectrum of values stretches from intrinsic value to practical value, consisting of exchange value and use value. Because of its own nature and perspective in assessing information, there are some problems of assessing its value. As a framework of assessing value of lnformation, Taylor developed the value-added model of information. Although the model has sl~ortcomings which do not apply measures and scales to mformation value, it can be a framework in assessing the value of mformation.
