Seismic Dynamic Response Analysis of Mountain Tunnels with Seismic Reduction and Isolation Measures

        Zhongxian Liu,Tian-Chun Ai,Lei Huang,Si-Bo Meng,Ping-Lin Jiang 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.1

In this paper, the multi-domain indirect boundary element method (IBEM) is developed for the seismic response analysis of double-line mountain tunnels with seismic reduction and isolation measures. The dynamic response of the tunnel with seismic reduction and isolation measures under incident SV waves is analyzed, and the effect of the mountain topography on the tunnel is also investigated. Further, the effects of the isolation layer and the grouting reinforcement with different thicknesses on the seismic response of the tunnel are discussed in detail. The results show that the scattering of seismic waves by mountain topography significantly increases tunnel stress. In general, with the increase of incident frequency, the isolation layer will increase the peak displacement of the tunnel by about 12.7% at most, and the isolation ratio of the isolation layer on the tunnel stress exceeds 40%. The seismic reduction performance of the grouting reinforcement also depends on the incident frequency, and the amplitude decreases by approximately 20% at most frequencies. However, it is possible that the lining displacement under high-frequency waves becomes larger. This method can provide valuable insights and assessments for damage prediction.

The abundance and diversity of gut bacteria of rice leaffolder Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Guenée) across life stages

        Yang Yajun,Liu Xiaogai,Xu Hongxing,Liu Yinghong,Ali Panna,Adnan Bodlah Muhammad,Lu Zhongxian 한국응용곤충학회 2020 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.23 No.2

The bacterial community living in the insect gut may play an important role in nutrition, immunity and protection, detoxification of toxins, and inter- and intra-specific communication. Rice leaffolder Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Guenée) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is a notorious pest in rice, and the diversity of the gut bacteria of C. medinalis across life stages are not well understood. Here, the diversity and abundance of the gut bacterial community in C. medinalis through life stages were investigated using Illumina Miseq technology. A total of 22 bacterial phyla, 42 classes, 100 orders, 179 families, 350 genera and 395 species were identified across the different life stages of C. medinalis. Proteobacteria and Firmicutes phyla were the dominant bacterial taxa. Members of the genera Enterococcus, unclassified Enterobacteriaceae, Wolbachia, Acinetobacter, Stenotrophomonas, Microbacterium, Bacillus, Corynebacterium, Lampropedia, and Sphingobacterium were found at all life stages. Enterococcus and unclassified Enterobacteriaceae occupied higher relative abundance among bacteria community in the 2nd to 5th instar larvae, pupae and adults. The structure of bacterial community differed across the life stages of C. medinalis. Our findings will enrich the understanding of gut bacteria in C. medinalis, and will provide foundation and assistance for the development of novel pest management strategies through utilization of microbiota.

Research on Partial Discharge Pattern Recognition in GIS Based on EFPI Sensor

        Wang Zan,Liu Zhongquan,Qiao Lili,Qian Dingdong,Chen Zhongxian,Gao Chaofei,Wang Wei 대한전기학회 2024 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.19 No.1

An EFPI fber optic ultrasonic sensor can be used for the detection and pattern recognition of partial discharge ultrasonic signals in Gas Insulated Switchgear. Compared with traditional piezoelectric sensors, it has many advantages, such as high sensitivity and strong anti-interference ability. Based on this, four typical PD models of the tip, metal particles, suspension and creeping surface were set up in the GIS cavity flled with 0.4 MPa SF6 gas, and the EFPI sensor was innovatively used to detect the discharge ultrasonic signal and extract the single ultrasonic pulse signal. The waveform features form a feature parameter database, and the probabilistic neural network algorithm and the support vector machine algorithm are used for pattern recognition and comparative analysis, respectively. The ultrasonic signal detected by the EFPI sensor has prominent features. On the basis of extracting the feature parameters, the two pattern recognition algorithms can achieve an average recognition rate of more than 85%, and the recognition efect of the support vector machine is better than that of the probabilistic neural network

A novel and environmentally friendly SO4 2- /CeO2 catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3

        Qiulin Zhang,Jinhui Zhang,Zhongxian Song,Ping Ning,,Hao Li,Xin Liu 한국공업화학회 2016 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.34 No.-

The SO42 /CeO2 catalyst showed excellent catalytic activity and remarkable resistance to H2O and SO2for the selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3. The SO42 /CeO2 catalyst with 2.5 wt.% SO42 contentexhibited more than 90% of NO conversion at 229–485 8C. The characterization results revealed that theSO42 species were highly dispersed on the surface of CeO2 in the SO42 /CeO2 catalyst. Moreover, theaddition of SO42 into CeO2 obviously increased the surface Lewis and Brønsted acid sites, and it wasfound that only stable (1 1 1) lattice planes of CeO2 can be observed on the SO42 /CeO2 catalyst.

      • Impact response of ultra-high performance fiber-reinforced concrete filled square double-skin steel tubular columns

        Jie Li,Weiqiang Wang,Chengqing Wu,Zhongxian Liu,Pengtao Wu 국제구조공학회 2022 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.42 No.3

This paper studies the lateral impact behavior of ultra-high performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) filled double-skin steel tubular (UHPFRCFDST) columns. The impact force, midspan deflection, and strain histories were recorded. Based on the test results, the influences of drop height, axial load, concrete type, and steel tube wall thickness on the impact resistance of UHPFRCFDST members were analyzed. LS-DYNA software was used to establish a finite element (FE) model of UHPFRC filled steel tubular members. The failure modes and histories of impact force and midspan deflection of specimens were obtained. The simulation results were compared to the test results, which demonstrated the accuracy of the finite element analysis (FEA) model. Finally, the effects of the steel tube thickness, impact energy, type of concrete and impact indenter shape, and void ratio on the lateral impact performances of the UHPFRCFDST columns were analyzed.

Juvenile hormone-mediated reproduction induced by a sublethal concentration of imidacloprid in Cyrtorhinus lividipennis (Hemiptera: Miridae)

        Jun Zhu,Yao Li,Ying-Ying Tang,Jian-Qi Liu,Yi-Yu Chen,Zhongxian LV,Fang Liu 한국응용곤충학회 2020 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.23 No.1

The Hemipteran predator, Cyrtorhinus lividipennis, feeds on the eggs and nymphs of rice planthoppers and leafhoppers. We previously demonstrated that sublethal concentrations of imidacloprid stimulated the reproduction of C. lividipennis. Considering the essential roles of juvenile hormone (JH) in insect reproduction, we speculated that sublethal concentrations of imidacloprid may stimulate the reproduction of C. lividipennis by regulating JH level. To test this, we cloned C. lividipennis JH acid methyl transferase (ClJHAMT) and JH esterase (ClJHE), which are responsible for JH biosynthesis and degradation genes, respectively. We then knocked down ClJHAMT by injecting dsRNA into C. lividipennis nymphs and found that emerging female adults exhibited 88.8% lower expression of the vitellogenin gene (ClVg) and the number of eggs was reduced by 41.5% as compared with controls. Silencing ClJHE increased ClVg mRNA expression by 275.0% but did not affect fecundity. A sublethal concentration of imidacloprid (LC 20 ) increased the JH titer in females by 35.3% and 60.6% at 24 and 48 h post-emergence, respectively. In treatments containing both imidacloprid and dsJHAMT, the silencing of CLJHAMT reduced the number of eggs produced by adult females by 21.4% as compared to the control (imidacloprid + dsGFP). Our results indicated that sublethal concentration of imidacloprid may induce C. lividipennis reproduction by upregulating JH level via JHAMT. The finding could provide valuable information for improved integration of C. lividipennis and insecticides in pest management.
