      • A Study on CO Detection System of Vehicle Emissions based on QEPAS

        Zheng Gang,Qi Yingjie,Li Wei 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.9 No.2

In this paper, the technology of QEPAS was used to detect the concentration of carbon monoxide gas. The regulation of DBF laser’s input current frequency and temperature was made first, current modulation frequency being 0 f  f / 2 16420HZ (frequency modulation is half of the resonance frequency of the QTF) and operating temperature being T=23 degrees Celsius. Then enable the output wavelength to be near 1.567 μm and measure CO gas of different concentrations. Through the analysis of the relationship between the second harmonic signals of different concentration CO gas, it is found that between CO concentration and the second harmonic intensity exists good linear relationship and that the system has no independence on the incident light wavelength and has high sensitivity and large dynamic measurement range. The study provides a new way of thinking for other types of trace gas detection and can be applied to the detection of automobile exhaust emissions.

Chicken RNA-binding protein T-cell internal antigen-1 contributes to stress granule formation in chicken cells and tissues

        Yingjie Sun,Pin Zhang,Hang Zheng,Luna Dong,Lei Tan,Cuiping Song,Xusheng Qiu,Ying Liao,Chunchun Meng,Shengqing Yu,Chan Ding 대한수의학회 2018 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.19 No.1

T-cell internal antigen-1 (TIA-1) has roles in regulating alternative pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA translation, and stress granule (SG) formation in human cells. As an evolutionarily conserved response to environmental stress, SGs have been reported in various species. However, SG formation in chicken cells and the role of chicken TIA-1 (cTIA-1) in SG assembly has not been elucidated. In the present study, we cloned cTIA-1 and showed that it facilitates the assembly of canonical SGs in both human and chicken cells. Overexpression of the chicken prion-related domain (cPRD) of cTIA-1 that bore an N-terminal green fluorescent protein (GFP) tag (pntGFP-cPRD) or Flag tag (pFlag-cPRD) induced the production of typical SGs. However, C-terminal GFP-tagged cPRD induced notably large cytoplasmic granules that were devoid of endogenous G3BP1 and remained stable when exposed to cycloheximide, indicating that these were not typical SGs, and that the pntGFP tag influences cPRD localization. Finally, endogenous cTIA-1 was recruited to SGs in chicken cells and tissues under environmental stress. Taken together, our study provide evidence that cTIA-1 has a role in canonical SG formation in chicken cells and tissues. Our results also indicate that cPRD is necessary for SG aggregation.

Micro-Expression Recognition Base on Optical Flow Features and Improved MobileNetV2

( Wei Xu ),( Hao Zheng ),( Zhongxue Yang ),( Yingjie Yang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2021 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.15 No.6

When a person tries to conceal emotions, real emotions will manifest themselves in the form of micro-expressions. Research on facial micro-expression recognition is still extremely challenging in the field of pattern recognition. This is because it is difficult to implement the best feature extraction method to cope with micro-expressions with small changes and short duration. Most methods are based on hand-crafted features to extract subtle facial movements. In this study, we introduce a method that incorporates optical flow and deep learning. First, we take out the onset frame and the apex frame from each video sequence. Then, the motion features between these two frames are extracted using the optical flow method. Finally, the features are inputted into an improved MobileNetV2 model, where SVM is applied to classify expressions. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the method, we conduct experiments on the public spontaneous micro-expression database CASME II. Under the condition of applying the leave-one-subject-out cross-validation method, the recognition accuracy rate reaches 53.01%, and the F-score reaches 0.5231. The results show that the proposed method can significantly improve the micro-expression recognition performance.

Influence of Corrosion on Anchoring Bond Behavior of Jointed Rock Mass

        Wantao Ding,Zhongrong Wang,Xinghang Huang,Lei Chen,Yingjie Zheng 대한토목학회 2022 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.26 No.4

In order to investigate the effect of corrosion on bond behavior of anchored jointed rock masses, based on the migration law of pitting corrosion obtained by laboratory tests and the concept of strength reduction, the anchoring pull-out test of jointed rock mass was simulated by using Discrete Element Method (DEM). The results show that for uncorroded rock specimens, due to the existence of joints, there are significant differences for granular displacement and bond failure on both sides of the rock bolt during pull-out process, and phenomenon of eccentric tension also appears; for corroded rock specimens, the reduction rate of bond strength and slip ratio of single and double joint specimens decrease linearly with the increase of pitting corrosion rate. The decreasing rate gets fast with the increase of joints, but it is not a multiple relationship. Compared with the test with uncorroded specimens, when the pitting corrosion rate is 15%, the maximum pull-out load of the single-joint specimen with joint angel of 45° is reduced by 17.8%, and the slip value is reduced by 14.6%; the maximum pull-out load of the double-joint specimen is reduced by 31.9%, and the slip value is reduced by 24.9%. The numerical test results are in good agreement with the laboratory test results. The research results can provide reference for the selection and optimization of the design parameters of anchoring support structure of jointed rock mass under the erosion environment in the future.

pH/Temperature Responsive Curcumin-Loaded Micelle Nanoparticles Promote Functional Repair after Spinal Cord Injury in Rats via Modulation of Inflammation

        Qian Taibao,Li Zhixiang,Shang Lijun,Huang Sutao,Li Guanglin,Zheng Weiwei,Mao Yingji 한국조직공학과 재생의학회 2023 조직공학과 재생의학 Vol.20 No.6

BACKGROUND: The formation of an inhibitory inflammatory microenvironment after spinal cord injury (SCI) remains a great challenge for nerve regeneration. The poor local microenvironment exacerbates nerve cell death; therefore, the reconstruction of a favorable microenvironment through small-molecule drugs is a promising strategy for promoting nerve regeneration. METHODS: In the present study, we synthesized curcumin-loaded micelle nanoparticles (Cur-NPs) to increase curcumin bioavailability and analyzed the physical and chemical properties of Cur-NPs by characterization experiments. We established an in vivo SCI model in rats and examined the ability of hind limb motor recovery using Basso–Beattie– Bresnahan scoring and hind limb trajectory assays. We also analyzed neural regeneration after SCI using immunofluorescence staining. RESULTS: The nanoparticles achieved the intelligent responsive release of curcumin while improving curcumin bioavailability. Most importantly, the released curcumin attenuated local inflammation by modulating the polarization of macrophages from an M1 pro-inflammatory phenotype to an M2 anti-inflammatory phenotype. M2-type macrophages can promote cell differentiation, proliferation, matrix secretion, and reorganization by secreting or expressing pro-repair cytokines to reduce the inflammatory response. The enhanced inflammatory microenvironment supported neuronal regeneration, nerve remyelination, and reduced scar formation. These effects facilitated functional repair in rats, mainly in the form of improved hindlimb movements. CONCLUSION: Here, we synthesized pH/temperature dual-sensitive Cur-NPs. While improving the bioavailability of the drug, they were also able to achieve a smart responsive release in the inflammatory microenvironment that develops after SCI. The Cur-NPs promoted the regeneration and functional recovery of nerves after SCI through anti-inflammatory effects, providing a promising strategy for the repair of SCIs.

Alterations of oral microbiota in Chinese children with viral encephalitis and/or viral meningitis

        Li Yijie,Liu Jing,Zhu Yimin,Peng Chunying,Dong Yao,Liu Lili,He Yining,Lu Guoping,Zheng Yingjie 한국미생물학회 2022 The journal of microbiology Vol.60 No.4

The role of oral microbiota in viral encephalitis and/or viral meningitis (VEVM) remains unclear. In this hospital-based, frequency-matched study, children with clinically diagnosed VEVM (n = 68) and those with other diseases (controls, n = 68) were recruited. Their oral swab samples were collected and the oral microbiota was profiled using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The oral microbiota of children with VEVM exhibited different beta diversity metrics (unweighted UniFrac distance: P < 0.001, R2 = 0.025, Bray-curtis dissimilarity: P = 0.045, R2 = 0.011, and Jaccard dissimilarity: P < 0.001, R2 = 0.017) and higher relative abundances of taxa identified by Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) with effect size (Enterococcus, Pedobacter, Massilia, Prevotella_9, Psychrobacter, Butyricimonas, Bradyrhizobium, etc., LDA scores > 2.0) when compared with the control group. The higher pathway abundance of steroid hormone biosynthesis predicted by oral microbiota was suggested to be linked to VEVM (q = 0.020). Further, a model based on oral microbial traits showed good predictive performance for VEVM with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.920 (95% confidence interval: 0.834–1.000). Similar results were also obtained between children with etiologically diagnosed VEVM (n = 43) and controls (n = 68). Our preliminary study identified VEVM-specific oral microbial traits among children, which can be effective in the diagnosis of VEVM.
