Synergistic activation of p70S6 kinase associated with stem cell factor in MO7e cells

Stem cel factor (SCF) is an early-acting cytokine inducing proliferative synergy with other cytokines in hematopoietic cels. We earlier showed that p21 was synergisticaly induced in SCF synergy and the p44/42 MAPK pathway was essential for the transcriptional control of p21. SCF synergy accom-panies protein synthesis. p70S6K implicated in translational control in many other systems has not been shown in SCF synergy induced system. ulated with GM-CSF with SCF, and investigated ac-tivation of p70S6K by using phospho-specific anti-body. A possible contribution of p70S6K to SCF synergy was examined by measuring p21 induc-tion as a model system. p70S6K was slightly acti-vated by GM-CSF alone and markedly activated by SCF alone. Combined stimulation with these two cytokines synergisticaly activated p70S6K resulting in persistent activation. Adition of the pathway- specific inhibitors for PI3K or FRAP/TOR, two up-stream pathways of p70S6K resulted in abolish-ficant reduction of p21 protein level. These data sugest that synergisticaly activated p70S6K by GM-CSF plus SCF involves, at least in part, protein translational control including regulation of p21 protein.
인문,사회과학편 : 댄스스포츠 참가자의 관여도에 따른 이용만족, 지속이용의도 및 구전의도의 차이

본 연구는 댄스스포츠 참가자의 관여도 정도에 따라 이용만족수준, 지속이용의도, 구전의도에는 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 알아봄으로써, 차후 댄스스포츠 프로그램의 여가행동 연구의 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구대상은 편의추출법을 사용하여 서울 및 경기도 지역에 위치한 6곳의 스포츠센터 및 공공시설에서 제공하는 댄스스포츠 프로그램 참가자들로부터 390개의 표본을 수집하였다. 관여도는 Laurent와 Kapferer (1985)가 개발하고, 박세혁(1999)이 한국어로 번안하여 높은 신뢰도와 타당도가 검증된 설문도구를 수정보완하여 사용하였다. 구성된 설문지는 안면타당도, 구성타당도, 내용타당도, 신뢰도를 확인한 후 사용하였으며, Windows용 SPSS ver 12.0을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구의 목적에 부합하도록 일원분산분석과 Scheffe의 사후검증을 실시하였으며, 이를 통하여 관여도 수준이 높을수록 이용하고 있는 댄스스포츠프로그램에 대한 만족수준, 지속이용의도, 구전의도가 높다는 점이 발견되었다. 따라서, 댄스스포츠 지속이용의도를 높이려는 노력뿐 아니라, 참가자들의 관여도를 이해하려는 노력이 필요함을 의미한다. The purpose of this study was to examine the customer satisfaction, customers’ intention to adherence, and word-of-mouth intention according to involvement of dance sport participants. 390 samples were collected from dance sport program participants of sport centers and public facilities in Seoul and Kyungki-Do by using convenience sampling method. The questionnaire was consisted of involvement, satisfaction, and customer's intention. The questionnaire was used after conducting face, construct, & content validity test and reliability test. The data were analysed by using SPSS ver 12.0 for Windows. Factor analysis, ANOVA, and Post-hoc (Scheffe) were used where appropriate. As a result, it was found that customer satisfaction, intention to adherence, and word-of-mouth were much higher for people with high level of involvement. It can be suggested that dance sport participants' involvement needs to be understood to succeed the program.

The genetic relatedness of multidrug-resistant pneumococcal isolates of serotypes 19F and 23F was investigated. The DNA fragments digested with Sma I were resolved by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). PFGE analysis of 36 S. pneumoniae isolates showed 13 different patterns. Among 22 isolates of serotype 19F, 9 different PFGE patterns were present and 14 isolates of serotype 23F isolates represented 5 distinct PFGE patterns. Two isolates of serotype 19F and six isolates of serotype 23F shared the same PFGE pattern (Pattern I). Based on the genetic relatedness within the strains (one genetic cluster was defined as having more than 85% homology), we divided the pneumococcal strains into 6 genetic clusters (I, II, III, IV, V, and VI). The 22 strains of serotype 19F belonged to five distinct genetic clusters (I, II, III, IV, V and VI) and 14 strains of serotype 23F represented two genetic clusters (I and II ). These results showed that strains of serotype 19F are genetically more diverse than those of serotype 23F. Serotype 19F isolates with PFGE patterns H and I appeared to be less related to those of the remaining PFGE patterns (A to G) (less than 60% genetic relatedness), but those strains were genetically closely related with serotype 23F. These results suggest that the latter isolates originated from horizontal transfer of the capsular type 19F gene locus to 23F pneumococcal genotypes. In conclusion, the multidrug-resistant pneumococcal isolates of serotype 19F and 23F isolated in Korea are the result of the spread of a limited number of resistant clones.
White Light Emission Using Heteroleptic Tris-Cyclometalated Iridium (III) Complexes

The synthesis and photophysical study of efficient phosphorescent heteroleptic tris-cyclometalated iridium (III) complexes for white organic light-emitting devices (WOLEDs) are reported. In order to obtain a large broad band, we designed and prepared Ir(dfppy)$_2$(pq) and Ir(pq)$_2$(dfppy), where dfppy and pq are 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl) pyridine and 2-phenylquinoline, respectively. The emission wavelengths and the lifetimes of Ir(dfppy)$_2$acac and Ir(pq)$_2$acac (acac = acetyl acetonate) were reported as 469 nm and 596 nm, and 1.6 $\mu$s and 2.0 $\mu$s, respectively. A reasonably similar phosphorescent lifetime is crucial for white light emission materials. The luminescence mechanism is determined by using the decay times of two different cyclometalated (C$\hat{~}$N) ligands. As similar phosphorescent lifetimes are possible for luminescence in two ligands at the same time, the emission wavelengths of Ir complexes have large broad peaks, leading a white color. Our experimental results provide evidence that the absorption of Ir complexes occurs at each ligand upon excitation. Thus, the excitation energy causes blue and orange colors to be emitted in each ligand of the complex. To realize this idea, we synthesized an iridium complex having two different ligand structures and theoretically calculated the complex by using a computational method.\\
A Verification of Fault Tree for Safety Integrity Level Evaluation

This study focuses on a novel approach which automatically proves the correctness and completeness of fault trees based on a formal model by model checking. This study represents that the model checking technique is useful when validating the correctness of informal safety analysis such as FTA. The benefits of this study are that it provides the probability of formally validating FTA by proving correctness and completeness of the fault trees. In addition to this benefit, it is possible that the CTL technique proves the FTA based SIL.
