대전지역 남·녀 대학생의 체구성성분과 식습관, 영양섭취량에 대한 비교 연구

This study was an investigation of nutrient intake, food habit and body composition of college students in Daejeon. A 21 male students and 20 female students healthy college students living in Daejeon were selected for the study. Weight, height were measured of on all participants and Body composition were measured by bioirnpedence. The 24-hour recall test and food habits were examined throught questionnaires. The average height, weight and BMI were 175.80±4.29㎝, 71.59±16.22kg, 23.10±4.71kg/㎡ for the male, 161.20±5.51㎝, 56.25 ±7.61㎏, 21.62±2.22㎏/㎡ for the female. The everage body compositions were intracellular fluid(27.31±4.04), extracellular fluid(13.16±2.02), total body fat(13.26±8.69㎏), body fat ratio(17.23±7.00%) for the male and intracellular(18.53±2.15), extracellular fluid(8.81±1.01), total body fat(16.68±4.17㎏), body fat ratio(29.28±4.18%) for the female. Intracellular fluid(ICF) and extracellular fluid(ECF) of male students were significantly heigher than female. The mean score of food habits were 62.10±4.12 for the male, 64.30±7.46 for the female, and not significant difference between male and female(p<0.05). The everage intakes of energy, vit. B₁, B₂, niacine, folic acid, Ca and Zn were below the RDA in male and the everagy intake of energy, vitamin A, B_z, C, folic acid, Ca, Fe and Zn were below th RDA in female. Among energy, calrorie nutrients, food habits, BFR of correlation were significantly correlation energy(p<0.05) and carbohydrate(p<0.01), and significantly correlation between energy and nutrients(p<0.05).

Background: Hereditary factors of atopic dermatitis(AD) have been emphasized recently. AD-related gene mutations vary significantly across ethnicities. Objectives: We tried to find mutations infilaggrin(FLG), serine protease inhibitor Kazal-type 5(SPINK5) and kallikrein 7(KLK7) genes from Korean AD patients, and developa reverse blot hybridization assay(REBA) to apply forAD-related genes. Methods: We divided AD subjects into moderate to severe AD and mild AD groups, and also divided the subjects into extrinsic and intrinsic AD groups. We performed the functional studies for skin barrier state, and checked on genemutations using the REBA. Results: The mutant type(MT) of KLK7 was significantly more frequent in AD subjects than in control and higher in the moderate to severe group compared to the mild group. The MT frequency was not different between the intrinsic and extrinsic AD groups. In the SPINK5 mutation, AD subjects more frequently had the mixed type of 603-49A>T(Glu335Val), the MT of 1188T>C(His396His) and 2475G>T(Glu825Asp) compared to control, but there was no difference between intrinsic and extrinsic AD. Conclusion: We found a correlation between the KLK7 mutation and AD, the mutations in1188T>C and 2475G>T, and 603-49A>T of SPINK5 and AD which have not been reported in Asians including Koreans. Above all things, we verified that the REBA can be applied to detect multiple barrier-related gene mutations in AD easily, simply, and accurately.

Seed viability testing provides valuable information for assessing seed lot germinability. However, most testing methods require destruction of seed prior to test. Because the dissected seeds for viability test cannot be used further evaluation, the nondestructively X-ray photography technique that can be applied for the evaluation of seed quality has been developed. In order to know the validity and accuracy of X-ray photography technique in seed evaluation test that conducted to remove the abnormal seed from a seed lot, we have compared the results from tetrazolium viability test, germination test and X-ray contrast method in cotton. Metallic salts treatment increased the efficiency of X-ray photographic method by enhancing the penetration of X-ray in abnormal or damaged seeds rather than normal seeds that have strong and well-organized tissues in seed. Cotton seeds presoaked for 16 hr in distilled water followed by soaking into metallic salt solution (5% NaI in water) for 60 min were easily classified seeds into dead seed and viable seed based on the radiography images obtained by X-ray radiation. We concluded that soft X-ray photography was reliable to find out the various defective characters due to heat and mechanical damage of seeds.

RNA polymerase II C-terminal domain phosphatases are newly emerging family of phosphatases that contain FCPH domain with Mg+2-binding DXDX(T/V) signature motif. Its subfamily includes small CTD phosphatases (SCPs). Recently, we identified several interacting partners of human SCP1 with appearance of dephosphorylation and O-GlcNAcylation. In this study, using an established cell line with inducible CTDSPL2 protein (a member of the new phosphatase family), proteomic screening was conducted to identify binding partners of CTDSPL2 in nuclear extract through immunoprecipitation of CTDSPL2 with its associated. This approach led to the identification of several interacting partners of CTDSPL2. This will provide a better understanding on CTDSPL2. [BMB Reports 2016; 49(6): 319-324]

The purpose of this study was to know the relations between seed longevity of rice germplasm and their morphological and ecological characters. Changes in seed germination rate of rice germplasm during conserving in the National Agrobiodiversity Center, RDA, Korea were investigated in 3,066 accessions. The rice germplasm accessions have been conserved for 26.5 years at 4oC, 30% RH storage. The morphological and ecological characters of rice germplasm were investigated at Suwon in 1980. The contributive rice morphological and ecological characters related with seed storablility were grain shattering, grain length and awn color.

A new cultivar ‘Daewang’ strawberry was developed by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science for forcing culture in 2010. The cultivar ‘Daewang’ was originated from the cross between ‘Maehyang’, a high firmness cultivar and ‘Wongyo 3111’, a high sugar content in 2006. The cultivar shows erect plant type, vigorous growth habit, early flower bud differentiation with 12-15 flowers per cluster from planting on healthy nursery. Fruits of ‘Daewang’ are conical type having a bright red skin color, and 16-17 g in an average weight. ‘Daewang’ is suitable for forcing culture as time required for dormancy breaking ranged between 50 and 100 hours. This cultivar has excellent taste for high sugar/acid ratio as sugar content of 11.1 °Brix, acidity of 0.39% with abundant texture and can be harvested by late spring because the fruit firmness of ‘Daewang’ was 18.2 g?mm<SUP>-2</SUP> that was about 7.9 g?mm<SUP>-2</SUP> higher than 10.3 g?mm<SUP>-2</SUP> of ‘Akihime’ cultivar. But although total yield is not significantly different from ‘Akihime’ cultivar, its marketable yield is remarkably higher than that of ‘Akihime’ cultivar. Disease and pest resistance of ‘Daewang’ have a tendency to sensitive powdery mildew, anthracnose and spotted spider.
