<P><I>Ginkgo biloba </I>leaf extract (Gb) has been known to improve blood flow and preclude the tissue from free radical damage. Effects of Gb were examined by using Ki67, a specific proliferative marker for cellular proliferation, and doublecortin (DCX), a marker for immature neurons, indicating degree of neuroblast differentiation in the hippocampal dentate gyrus (DG) of adult C57BL/6 mice. The mice were fed with Gb at 40 and 100 mg/kg once daily for 28 days. The increase of Ki67- and DCX-immunoreactive cells in the DG was increased in a dose-dependent manner. Especially, the group having 100 mg/kg Gb showed a significant increase of DCX-immunoreactive neuroblasts with well-developed tertiary dendrites. Expression of DCX protein in the Gb groups was also significantly increased upon compared with the vehicle group. The results suggested that repeated intake of Gb would enhance cell proliferation and neuroblast differentiation in the mouse DG.</P>

In this study, vibration mode multilayer piezoelectric transformer was designed and thickness simulated using ANSYS of finite element method simulator for investigating its optimum conditions ist. As a results, resonant frequency was decreased with the increase of output layer thickness, Output voltage, maximum displacement and maximum stress at 0.34㎜ thickness transformer were 228.1 V, 0.42㎛, 8.78[N/㎡] respectively.

Systematic analysis of vehicle fuel consumption is necessary for the further improvement of vehicle fuel economy. In this study, a methodology for the break-down of vehicle fuel consumption equipped with a common rail DI diesel engine was studied and experimental study was carried out.<br/> Based on the experiment, the result shows that fuel energy is used in exhaust enthalpy flow(22.3%), heat rejection to coolant(30.7%), vehicle inertia(13.7%), engine friction(13.3%), pumping loss(-1.2%), electric power generation(O.3%), engine inertia(O.2%), torque converter loss(2.9%), drivetrain friction(O.6%), drivetrain inertia(O.03%), road-load( 12.1%).<br/>

본 논문은 클라우드 기반 컴퓨팅을 활용한 비디오 콘텐츠 인코딩의 최적화를 위해 머신러닝 기반의 초기 압축 파라미터 예측 알고리즘을 제안한다. SKB 상용 시스템의 대규모 비디오 데이터를 활용하여 다양한 특성을 고려한 학습 데이터를 생성하고, Amazon SageMaker Autopilot를 사용한 ML 알고리즘을 적용한다. 예측 알고리즘 적용을 통해, 인코딩 과정에서 평균 12.85%의 시간 절약과 95.80% 예측 정확도 달성 및 클라우드 환경에서의 비용 절감 및 인코딩 효율성 향상에 기여를 하였다.
Simulation and Design of a Multilayer Piezoelectric Actuator

In this study, two- and three-layer ceramic piezoelectric actuators were designed and simulated according to SUS316 thickness, actuator width, and mass using ATILA software in order to develop a piezoelectric actuator for haptic application. Numerical modelling based on the finite element method was performed to find the resonance frequencies and modal shapes of the actuator. The resonance frequency was affected by the thickness of the SUS316 plate and mass. On the other hand, the width of the actuator did not have a significant impact. Maximum displacements were generated at the center of a haptic three-layer ceramic piezoelectric actuator. The two-layer ceramic piezoelectric actuator with a mass of 2.6 g was suitable as $16.28{\mu}m$ at 265 Hz for haptic sensation application.

Background: Since 2003, the H5 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) subtype has caused massive economic losses in the poultry industry in South Korea. The role of inland water bodies in avian influenza (AI) outbreaks has not been investigated. Identifying water bodies that facilitate risk pathways leading to the incursion of the HPAI virus (HPAIV) into poultry farms is essential for implementing specific precautionary measures to prevent viral transmission. Objectives: This matched case-control study (1:4) examined whether inland waters were associated with a higher risk of AI outbreaks in the neighboring poultry farms. Methods: Rivers, irrigation canals, lakes, and ponds were considered inland water bodies. The cases and controls were chosen based on the matching criteria. The nearest possible farms located within a radius of 3 km of the case farms were chosen as the control farms. The poultry farms were selected randomly, and two HPAI epidemics (H5N8 [2014-2016] and H5N6 [2016-2017]) were studied. Conditional logistic regression analysis was applied. Results: Statistical analysis revealed that inland waters near poultry farms were significant risk factors for AI outbreaks. The study speculated that freely wandering wild waterfowl and small animals contaminate areas surrounding poultry farms. Conclusions: Pet birds and animals raised alongside poultry birds on farm premises may wander easily to nearby waters, potentially increasing the risk of AI infection in poultry farms. Mechanical transmission of the AI virus occurs when poultry farm workers or visitors come into contact with infected water bodies or their surroundings. To prevent AI outbreaks in the future, poultry farms should adopt strict precautions to avoid contact with nearby water bodies and their surroundings.
