Aldrin and heptachlor are a member of so-called “classic organochlorine” pesticides which can be highly toxic to the ecosystem through bioaccumulation. Although the use of these pesticides has been banned, sustainable management of the risk by bioconcentration is required due to its persistent nature. Aldrin and heptachlor including their metabolites (or a pesticide itself for dieldrin) are typical non-polar pesticides and it can be challenging to analyze the residues in fatty matrices such as beef and bovine fat due to the non-polar chemical property. Here we describe the development and validation of an analytical method for the quantitation of the aldrin and heptachlor residues in livestock matrices. The determination method involves analysis using a GC-MS/MS and QuEChERS sample preparation. In particular, it was found that the isomeric heptachlor metabolites, heptachlor epoxide A and B, have specific MRM conditions that can increase the signal. The ratio of sample amount vs. extraction solvent volume and the effectiveness of freezing out during the sample preparation procedure were also tested. Results for beef and egg matrices were compliant with the validation guideline described in Food and Drug Safety Document. Also, the results demonstrate that the workflow based on GC-MS/MS with a high sample/extraction solvent ratio and freezing-out procedure can overcome the issues experienced with previous methods reported for the analysis of fat-soluble and non-polar pesticides.
가상현실 기반 중재가 뇌졸중 환자의 우울과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향에 대한 메타분석

The current study analyzed the effect of virtual reality-based intervention on depression and quality of life in stroke patients. Databases (National Assembly Library, DBpia, RISS, KISS) were searched to extract studies for meta analysis by using the PICOS framework. From this procedure, two dissertations and five journal articles were selected for the literature on the effect on depression, and four dissertations and three journal articles were selected for the literature on the effect on quality of life. The R program(ver.4.0.5) meta analysis package was used to calculate the effect sizes for depression and quality of life. Results using random-effects model indicated that the effect size of depression was -0.82 (95% CI=-1.29, -0.35), which was a large effect size, and also the effect size of quality of life was 1.12 (95% CI=0.56, 1.67), showing a large effect size. The current study concluded that virtual reality-based intervention has positive effect on depression and quality of life in stroke patients.
소고기와 우유에서의 잔류농약 다성분분석을 위한 GC-MS/MS 분석 및 QuEChERS 전처리 방법의 검토

Bovine meat and milk are predominant food resources that are consumed by a large portion of the population in the world. Pesticides are commonly used on animal feed and they could be accumulated in animal tissues and other animal-derived foods like milk. To prevent the unnecessary exposure of consumers to pesticides, the determination of pesticide residues in bovine meat and milk is important. However, analyzing pesticide multi-residues in livestock is challenging due to a large amount of lipid and fats as well as the matrix-complexity of animal tissue. Here, we present the initial results of method development for the determination of 127 pesticides using GC-MS/MS. The multiple reaction monitoring transitions were optimized to allow simultaneous quantitation and identification. Sample preparation and clean-up were based on the modified QuEChERS methods. Initial results indicate that extraction with acetonitrile without other acid gave desirable performances in view of the simplicity of the method. Several combinations of the clean-up absorbents and cartridges including C18, PSA, Prime HLB, Captiva EMR-Lipid were compared in terms of recovery rate and repeatability. Further optimization of the sample preparation method and validation of the optimized method is needed for obtaining accurate and reliable data.

The increasement of buyers in E-commerce has affected customers" purchase behavior and informations through social network help customers check other customers’ reviews before deciding to buy products. Today, most shopping malls are providing prior customers" opinions such as reviews, sales volume, ratings, comments and number of page views and these opinions influence customers" decision in various ways. Also, noticeable aspect in shopping mall today is that import products from several countries around the world are sold by domestic shopping malls. Several market research reports showed that sales of clothes, health food and cosmetics are steadily increasing recently. In this study, to compare customers’ responses between domestic and imported products, we collected more than one hundred thousand of prior customers" reviews on domestic and imported fashion clothes and analyzed reviews through a big data analytic technique of opinion mining. By comparing reviews in purchase process of shopping mall, we discovered the issues in purchasing process and found the positive and negative aspect in purchasing process as well as product origins. In conclusion, we found that opinion mining is useful in analyzing online shopping mall customer needs.
명량해전 직전 조선 수군의 폐지 문제에 대한 재검토 - 이순신의 ‘상유십이’를 중심으로 -

It is widely known that Yi Sun-sin(李舜臣) submitted a Jang-gae(狀啓), in which he wrote ‘There are still 12 warships’, in opposition to the government"s order to abolish the navy ahead of the Battle of Myeongnyang(鳴梁). And some historians claim that the place where the Jang-gae was written was Yeolseonnu (列仙樓) in Boseong(寶城). However the research of whether this is true or not is still insufficient and there are even counterarguments. This paper intends to consider this issue by examining the records mentioned on the abolition of the navy and various related historical materials. Historical records mentioning ‘There are still 12 warships’ or ‘the abolition of the navy’ generally described that Yi Sun-sin was ordered to abolish the navy by the government after he took the warships or after the Battle of Eorando(於蘭島). However this description contradicts the views of scholars who claim that Yi Sun-sin wrote the Jang-gae against the abolition of the navy at Yeolseonnu in Boseong. And there is even a record described that the abolition was mentioned by a general not by the government. According to the article on August 5<SUP>th</SUP> 1597 in 『Annals of King Seonjo(宣朝實錄)』, on that day the government made the decision to make the best use of the remaining navy forces because they were concerned that the sea route would be empty. Therefore it is highly likely that the government"s order dated August 7<SUP>th</SUP> 1597, which was brought to Boseong by a military officer Park Cheon-bong(朴天鳳), was written about the decision of the government. According to the articles in 『Annals of King Seonjo』, the discussion on the abolition of the navy was never mentioned in the government. On the contrary the government sought to utilize the remaining navy forces in the sea not on land despite the increasingly unfavorable war situation. As far as the naval strategy implemented from the early days of Imjin War(壬辰倭亂) and the troops planned to be dispatched from the Ming Dynasty are considered there is no possibility that the government ordered the abolition of the navy.

This paper introduces a method to estimate the contact-force of the leg of a walking robot and proposes a solution to a shortcoming of the previous study. This shortcoming was the deteriorating performance when estimating the contact-force whenever the rotation of each joint was reversed. It occurred because the friction-torque of each joint was not considered. In order to solve this problem, a friction-torque model for a robot leg was developed based on repetitive experimentation and used improve the contact-force estimation performance. We verified the performance of the proposed method experimentally.

District heating system on an apartment block recently attracts attention to combine hot water supply pipes which are separated with space heating pipe and warm water supply pipe in current system, and this new system is applied for a part of European nations. In combined system, only one heat source is supplied to the house and distributed for space heating and warm water generating by household substation. Therefore, the effective distribution of supplied heat source in accordance with purposes becomes more important. This paper presents a new three-way proportional control valve for mentioned combined heat source system in district heating with experimental result. The valve operates for controls to divides heat source into two different directions : hot water distributor for space heating and household substation for warm water supply in accordance with the pressure drops of tap water induced by the user. This study shows the controllability and performance of the mechanical control three-way proportional valve for common pipe district heating system with result of experiment.

Korea District heating corp. recently give an attention to combine the district heating and supply pipes as a two pipe system that are in the present system separated with room heating and warm water supply pipe, and the two pipe system is commonly applied for heating service in European countries. In the new two pipe system, only one heat source is supplied to a house and partitioned into room heating and warm water supply by household substation. So the effective distribution of supplied heat source in accordance to user intention is very important. This paper presents the development and performance test of three-way proportional control valve for a combined heat source system in district heating. The proposed valve is controlled to partition heat source into two different directions:hot water distributor for space heating and household substation for warm water supply in response to the pressure drops of tap water caused by the user. The performance investigation is shown within 3% of error compared to the theoretical model of the three-way proportional valve and its controllability is verified.
태권도 수련의 유·무가 신체적 자기효능감에 미치는 영향에 대한 메타분석

The current study analyzed the effect of Taekwondo training on physical self-efficacy. For this purpose, four dissertations and four academic journals were selected for meta-analysis. The effect size of physical self-efficacy including sub-factors such as perceived physical ability and physical self-presentation confidence were analyzed. Statistical analysis was performed using the Review Manager Version 5.4(RevMan, The Cochrane Collaboration, Oxford, UK) provided by the Cochran Collaboration. As a result of meta-analysis of 8 studies using the random effect model, The overall effect size of physical self-efficacy was calculated as .58 (95% CI=.28, .87). And, The effect size of perceived physical ability was .74 (95% CI=.22, 1.26), which was a moderate effect size, but the effect size of physical self-presentation confidence was .42 (95% CI=.11, .73), showing a small effect size. In conclusion, it was derived that Taekwondo training is more effective for perceived physical ability than for physical self-presentation confidence.
