<P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P><P>A new synthetic route for the acrylated polyvinylsilazane, as an inorganic polymer photoresist with a relatively high UV sensitivity, was developed using a highly efficient electrophilic substitution reaction between the secondary amine and the allyl bromide.</P><ce:figure></ce:figure> <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>A novel inorganic polymer resin with high photosensitivity was prepared by grafting acrylate functional groups onto the backbone of polyvinylsilazane through a reaction with methyl-2-(bromo-methyl)acrylate via the highly efficient electrophilic substitution of allyl bromide. The as-modified polymer was characterized by <SUP>1</SUP>H NMR and 2D-<SUP>1</SUP>H–<SUP>1</SUP>H NMR (COSY) methods to determine the reaction mechanism. Differential photocalorimetry, FT-IR spectroscopy and TGA were used to examine its properties. The modified polyvinylsilazane is a promising inorganic polymer photoresist with a high UV sensitivity and a 55% ceramic yield, which is useful for fabricating non-oxide ceramic microstructures using mold free photocuring shaping processes.</P>
The Existence and Stability Analysis of Periodic Solution of Izhikevich Model

In this paper, based on the Izhikevich model, a more realistic hybrid impulsive neuron model combining model with state-dependent impulsive effects is proposed. By means of the theory of impulsive semidynamic system, the Poincaré section and the ordinary differential equation geometry theory, the properties of the equilibrium points and the sufficient conditions for the existence and stability of different order-1 or order-2 periodic solutions of the system are derived near the equilibrium point or limit cycle. In addition, subthreshold bifurcation behavior which are saddle-node bifurcation, Andronov-Hopf bifurcation, Bogdano-Takens bifurcation and bifurcation behavior of the model with state-dependent impulsive effects are also studied. Final, the main results are illustrated by numerical simulations, and the bifurcation diagram shows that the system becomes more complicated due to the existence of impulses, and there exist bifurcations and chaos phenomena, indicating that the system has rich dynamic behavior.
An integrated dendrite-free zinc metal electrode for corrosion inhibition in aqueous system

Zinc ion batteries have gotten increasing attention as a potential candidate for lithium-ion batteries, due totheir high specific capacity (820 mAh·g1), energy density, and safety. Inevitably, dendrite and corrosion create sometrouble for this system. Herein, an integrated Zn electrode coated by Zn-Al metal oxides prepared by a simple spincoatingmethod was utilized to increase the rechargeability for aqueous zinc ion batteries. By coating the Zn anodewith an artificial electrolyte interface, the wettability of Zn anodes was improved and impedance was reduced. Thecoating suppressed not only the appearance of dendrite but also the formation of corrosion products. The symmetricalcells with coating have a low overpotential (43mV) and an excellent life span. Meanwhile, the applied full batteriesexhibit an improved capacity retention rate (86.67% after 120 cycles), great rate performance and low apparent activationenergy (24.6 KJ·mol1). The simple production methods and superior corrosion suppression effects provide newideas for the anode protection of aqueous system batteries.

Purpose - The purpose of this study is to identify the factors which affect the performance of Chinese web drama. Design/methodology/approach - For empirical investigation, 163 web dramas which were listed in AiQiyi platform were used as the sample. It was hypothesized that number of explanatory variables drawn from previous research, including the power of producing company, and star power of actors and actresses, average length of an episode, genre of the drama, viewer ratings, existence of exclusive SNS account and the use of existing IP, would influence the performance of the drama measured by cumulative hit number. A hierarchical regression analysis is conducted to test hypotheses. Findings - Results show that star power of actors and actresses, average length of an episode, viewer ratings and the use of IP indeed affect the performance of Chinese web drama. Research implications or Originality - As the first empirical study of this kind, this study may help not only domestic but also global participants of fast growing Chinese web drama industry.
PREPARATION OF SiO2 HIERARCHICAL NANOSTRUCTURE VIA CATALYST-FREE THERMAL EVAPORATION METHOD

A novel hierarchical nanostructure of SiO2 nanowires standing on SiO2 microwires was synthesized through a catalyst-free thermal evaporation method in nitrogen atmosphere. The SiO2 nanowires have an average diameter of 100 nm and length of 2 μm, while the diameter of the SiO2 microwires is around 10 μm and the length is hundreds of micrometers. The photoluminescence spectrum of the SiO2 hierarchical nanostructure shows stable blue and green emission at 442 nm and 533 nm, respectively. An oxygen-assisted three-step growth mechanism was suggested to interpret the growth of the SiO2 hierarchical nanostructure.

Matrine, a main active component extracted from dry roots of Sophora flavecens, has been reported to exert antitumor effects on A549 human non-small lung cancer cells, but its mechanisms of action remain unclear. To determine effects of matrine on proliferation of A549 cells and assess possible mechanisms, MTT assays were employed to detect cytotoxicity, along with o flow cytometric analysis of DNA content of nuclei of cells following staining with propidium iodide to analyze cell cycle distribution. Western blotting was performed to determined expression levels of Bax, Bcl-2, VEGF and HDAC1, while a microarray was used to assessed changes of miRNA profiles. In the MTT assay, matrine suppressed growth of human lung cancer cell A549 in a dose- and timedependent manner at doses of 0.25-2.5 mg/ml for 24h, 48h or 72h. Matrine induced cell cycle arrest in G0/G1 phase and decreased the G2/M phase, while down-regulating the expression of Bcl2 protein, leading to a reduction in the Bcl-2/Bax ratio. In addition, matrine down regulated the expression level of VEGF and HDAC1 of A549 cells. Microarray analysis demonstrated that matrine altered the expression level of miRNAs compared with untreated control A549 cells. In conclusion, matrine could inhibit proliferation of A549 cells, providing useful information for understanding anticancer mechanisms.

Background: Preoperative 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-based chemoradiotherapy is a standard treatment for locally advanced colorectal cancer (CRC). However, CRC cells often develop chemoradiation resistance (CRR). Recent studies have shown that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) plays critical roles in a myriad of biological processes and human diseases, as well as chemotherapy resistance. Since the roles of lncRNAs in 5-FU-based CRR in human CRC cells remain unknown, they were investigated in this study. Materials and Methods: A 5-FU-based concurrent CRR cell model was established using human CRC cell line HCT116. Microarray expression profiling of lncRNAs and mRNAs was undertaken in parental HCT116 and 5-FU-based CRR cell lines. Results: In total, 2,662 differentially expressed lncRNAs and 2,398 mRNAs were identified in 5-FU-based CRR HCT116 cells when compared with those in parental HCT116. Moreover, 6 lncRNAs and 6 mRNAs found to be differentially expressed were validated by quantitative real time PCR (qRT-PCR). Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis for the differentially expressed mRNAs indicated involvement of many, such as Jak-STAT, PI3K-Akt and NF-kappa B signaling pathways. To better understand the molecular basis of 5-FU-based CRR in CRC cells, correlated expression networks were constructed based on 8 intergenic lncRNAs and their nearby coding genes. Conclusions: Changes in lncRNA expression are involved in 5-FU-based CRR in CRC cells. These findings may provide novel insight for the prognosis and prediction of response to therapy in CRC patients.

FADS1 (fatty acid desaturase 1) plays a crucial role in fatty acid metabolism, and it was recently reported to be involved in tumorigenesis. However, the role of FADS1 expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remains unknown. In the current study, we investigated the expression and clinical pathologic and prognostic significance of FADS1 in ESCC. Immunohistochemical analyses revealed that 58.2% (146/251) of the ESCC tissues had low levels of FADS1 expression, whereas 41.8% (105/251) exhibited high levels of FADS1 expression. In positive cases, FADS1 expression was detected in the cytoplasm of cells. Correlation analyses demonstrated that FADS1 expression was significantly correlated with tumor location (p=0.025) but not with age, gender, histological grade, tumor status, nodal status or TNM staging. Furthermore, patients with tumors expressing high levels of FADS1had a longer disease-free survival time (p<0.001) and overall survival time (p <0.001). Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that, along with nodal status, FADS1 expression was an independent and significant predictive factor (p<0.001). In conclusion, our study suggested that FADS1 might be a valuable biomarker and potential therapeutic target for ESCC.
