Light Scattering Study of the Phase Transition in Quantum Paraelectric Strontium Titanate
Toshirou Yagi,H Taniguchi,M Itoh,M Takesada 한국물리학회 2007 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.51 No.2I
New features of the ferroelectric phase transition are found by using light scattering studies on quantum paraelectric SrTi16O3 (STO16) and its oxygen-isotope exchanged compound SrTi18O3 (STO18). The ferroelectric Eu mode observed by using high-resolution spectroscopy with interferometry shows a perfect softening at the phase transition point of the ferroelectric STO18-95, where 95 % of the oxygen atoms are replaced by the oxygen isotope 18O. The phase transition is concluded to be an ideal displacive-type transition accompanied with the complete freezing of the Slater-type polar mode. The role of the substituted 18O atoms is elucidated in more detail by using low-frequency Raman scattering below 1 K with a triple monochromator. The dynamical inhomogeneity enhanced by the inhomogeneous distribution of 18O atoms plays an essential role in quantum paraelectric STO18 where the concentration of 18O is less than the critical value of 33 %. Both the decrease in the frequency of the polar modes as a mass effect and the enhancement of the dynamical inhomogeneity take place cooperatively in the quantum paraelectric-ferroelectric phase transition in STO18.

Co-based amorphous powder was produced by a new atomization process “Spinning Water Atomization Process (SWAP)”, having rapid super-cooling rate. The composition of the alloys was ((Co0.95Fe0.05)1-xCrx)75Si15B10 (x=0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075). The powders became the amorphous state even if particle size was up to about 500 μm. The coercive force of powders was about 0.35 - 0.7 Oe. Furthermore, Co-based amorphous powder cores with glass binders were made by cold-pressing and sintering methods. The initial permeability of the core in the frequency range up to 100 kHz was about 110, and the core loss at 100 kHz for Bm = 0.1 T was 350 kW/m3.
Metallization Technology in DRAM
Taniguchi,T.,Yagi,H.,Kanazawa,M. 대한전자공학회 1995 ICVC : International Conference on VLSI and CAD Vol.4 No.1
This paper presents s metallization technology in future DRAM and its results of spplication for multilevel interconnection. Excellent first metal to Si contact is achieved at a higher contact aspect ratio of more than 6 by using Ti-CVD as compared with Ti collimation-sputtering. In-situ dry pre-metal clean have been developed to minimize the contact CD loss which is observed in conventional wet pre-clean. The Al film deposited by long distance sputtering gives a good step coverage for non-plug via with wine glass shape. Two levels of refractory metal and one level of Al layers have been successfully applied for future DRAM. This structure provides a good yields and high reliability.
The 90°Brillouin Scattering in Tricrinic β-BiNbO₄Single Crystal
TSUJIMI, Y.,JANG, M. S.,YU, Y. S.,YAGI, T. 동의대학교 기초과학연구소 1995 基礎科學硏究論文集 Vol.5 No.1
The acoustic modes propagated in the be plane of triclinic β-BiNbO₄ single crystal are investigated by Brillouin scattering at room temperature. The Brillouin spectra corresponding to the longitudinal acoustic mode are observed as a function of the direction of the propagation. The elastic constants are evaluated as follows, c_33=16±2, c_22=27±3 and c_23+2c_44=25±3 in the unit of 10^11 dyne cm^-2 under the assumption of the monoclinic symmetry of the crystal. The angular dependence of the calculated frequency shift shows a good agreement with the observed results.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A detailed study of the structure of the doubly mid-shell nucleus Dy 104 1 66 170 has been carried out, following isomeric and <I>β</I> decay. We have measured the yrast band up to the spin-parity J π = 6 + state, the K = 2 <I>γ</I>-vibration band up to the 5 + state, a low-lying negative-parity band based on a 2 − state that could be a candidate for the lowest energy octupole vibration state within this nucleus, and a candidate for the K π = 6 + two quasi-particle isomer. This state was determined to have an excitation energy of 1643.91(23) keV and a half life of 0.99(4) μs, with a reduced hindrance for its decay to the ground-state band an order of magnitude lower than predicted by N p N n systematics. This is interpreted as being due to <I>γ</I>-vibrational mixing from a near degeneracy of the isomer and the 6 + state of the <I>γ</I> band. Furthermore, the parent nucleus 170Tb has been determined to have a half-life of 0.91 ( − 13 + 18 ) s with a possible spin-parity of 2 − .</P>
