        Reduced-Reference 3D Image Quality Measurement via Spatial to Gradient Domain Feature Aggregation

        Objective quality measurement of a three-dimensional (3D) image is a challenging issue in various 3D visual applications since it is infl uenced by multiple aspects such as binocular fusion, binocular rivalry and visual comfort, etc. Existing studies show that classic 2D and some 3D image quality measurement (IQM) are only perform well for symmetric distorted 3D images, but not able to evaluate the quality of asymmetrical distorted 3D images accurately. In this paper, based on the statistical characteristics of natural images and perceptual properties of human visual system (HVS), we propose a novel reduced-reference (RR) 3D quality assessment evaluator (R3DQAE) to deal with the characteristics of 3D images. Two key technical steps are involved in R3DQAE: the statistical characteristics of 3D images and the perceptual properties of HVS. Specifi cally, in spatial domain, the generalized Gaussian density fi ts of luminance wavelet coeffi cients and correlations of luminance and disparity wavelet coeffi cients are used to represent the statistical characteristics of 3D image. Furthermore, in gradient domain, the enhanced gradient magnitudes are computed by using neighborhood phase congruency information to weight the gradient magnitudes in a locally adaptive manner. Afterward, the entropy diff erencing of discrete wavelet transform coeffi cients of enhanced gradient magnitudes are extracted as the perceptual features of HVS. Finally, the qualities index of both the statistical characteristics of 3D image and the perceptual properties of HVS are combined to yield 3D image quality index. Experiments are performed on published 3D image quality assessment database show that the proposed model achieves highly competitive performance as compared with the state-of-the art some typical full-reference and RR 3DIQM models.

        Parametric Euler Sums of Harmonic Numbers

        In this paper, we define a parametric variant of generalized Euler sums and construct contour integration to give some explicit evaluations of these parametric Euler sums. In particular, we establish several explicit formulas of (Hurwitz) zeta functions, linear and quadratic parametric Euler sums. Furthermore, we also give an explicit evaluation of alternating double zeta values $\ze(\overline{2j};2m+1)$ in terms of a combination of alternating Riemann zeta values by using the parametric Euler sums.

        Novel artesunate-metformin conjugate inhibits bladder cancer cell growth associated with Clusterin/SREBP1/FASN signaling pathway

        Bladder cancer remains the 10th most common cancer worldwide. In recent years, metformin has been found to have potential anti-bladder cancer activity while high concentration of IC50 at millimolar level is needed, which could not be reached by regular oral administration route. Thus, higher efficient agent is urgently demanded for clinically treating bladder cancer. Here, by conjugating artesunate to metformin, a novel artesunate-metformin dimer triazine derivative AM2 was designed and synthesized. The inhibitory effect of AM2 on bladder cancer cell line T24 and the mechanism underlying was determined. Anti-tumor activity of AM2 was assessed by MTT, cloning formation and wound healing assays. Decreasing effect of AM2 on lipogenesis was determined by oil red O staining. The protein expressions of Clusterin, SREBP1 and FASN in T24 cells were evaluated by Western blotting. The results show that AM2 significantly inhibited cell proliferation and migration at micromolar level, much higher than parental metformin. AM2 reduced lipogenesis and down-regulated the expressions of Clusterin, SREBP1 and FASN. These results suggest that AM2 inhibits the growth of bladder cancer cells T24 by inhibiting cellular lipogenesis associated with the Clusterin/SREBP1/FASN signaling pathway.

        Controlled fabrication and electrochemical corrosion behavior of ultrathin Ni-Cu alloy foil

        Cost-effective ultrathin alloy foils (<20 lm) are highly expected with the development of electronicindustry and micro-system technology. In this paper, electrodeposition combined with vacuum sinteringis used to fabricate a Ni-Cu alloy foil with thickness of 12.0 (±0.2) lm. For the ultrathin Ni-Cu alloy foil, adensified structure without pores can be achieved by prolonging sintering duration at 900 ℃ for 3 h. Under the current density of 10 mA cm 2, 700 s is the optimal electrodeposition time to obtain the highesttensile strength (187 MPa) with the Ni content of 41.5 wt.% in the alloy foil. Compared with Cu foil, Ni-Cu alloy foil shows superior corrosion resistance in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution and also HCl solutions (0.5 mol/L, 1.0 mol/L, 2.0 mol/L), respectively. The uniform composition and defect-free surface, excellent tensilestrength and corrosion resistance together exhibits the great application potential of the obtained Ni-Cualloy foil, which may provide an inspiration for future development of integrated electronic or medicaldevices.

        Efficient Method to Include Joint Zones of Chord Members in Finite Element Model of Tubular Transmission Tower at Linear Elastic Stage

        To include the effects of the joint zones efficiently, firstly a chord member considering the joint zones is seen as a combination of three beams with different sections and its element stiffness matrix is derived; Secondly, based on the statistically geometrical properties of the joint zones and chord members in service, the coefficients in the element stiffness matrix of the varied section beam element related to the moments and shear forces greatly increase more than 70%, while the coefficients related to axial forces only increase less than 2%. Therefore, along with the other two inherent mechanical properties of member structures, it is essential to include the effects of the joint zones. Finally, the results by the finite element models where the chord members and the joint zones are simulated by four methods are compared, which proves the efficiency and the accuracy of the varied section beam element.
