Sinusoidal Map Jumping Gravity Search Algorithm Based on Asynchronous Learning

Xinxin Zhou,Guangwei Zhu 한국정보처리학회 2022 Journal of information processing systems Vol.18 No.3

To address the problems of the gravitational search algorithm (GSA) in which the population is prone toconverge prematurely and fall into the local solution when solving the single-objective optimization problem,a sine map jumping gravity search algorithm based on asynchronous learning is proposed. First, a learningmechanism is introduced into the GSA. The agents keep learning from the excellent agents of the populationwhile they are evolving, thus maintaining the memory and sharing of evolution information, addressing thealgorithm’s shortcoming in evolution that particle information depends on the current position informationonly, improving the diversity of the population, and avoiding premature convergence. Second, the sine functionis used to map the change of the particle velocity into the position probability to improve the convergenceaccuracy. Third, the Levy flight strategy is introduced to prevent particles from falling into the localoptimization. Finally, the proposed algorithm and other intelligent algorithms are simulated on 18 benchmarkfunctions. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieved improved the better performance.

GelMA-based bioactive hydrogel scaffolds with multiple bone defect repair functions: Therapeutic strategies and recent advances

        Bixia Zhou,Xulei Jiang,Xinxin Zhou,Wuyuan Tan,Hang Luo,Shaorong Lei,Ying Yang 한국생체재료학회 2023 생체재료학회지 Vol.27 No.00

Currently, the clinical treatment of critical bone defects attributed to various causes remains a great challenge, and repairing these defects with synthetic bone substitutes is the most common strategy. In general, tissue engineering materials that mimic the structural, mechanical and biological properties of natural bone have been extensively applied to fill bone defects and promote in situ bone regeneration. Hydrogels with extracellular matrix (ECM)-like properties are common tissue engineering materials, among which methacrylate-based gelatin (GelMA) hydrogels are widely used because of their tunable mechanical properties, excellent photocrosslinking capability and good biocompatibility. Owing to their lack of osteogenic activity, however, GelMA hydrogels are combined with other types of materials with osteogenic activities to improve the osteogenic capability of the current composites. There are three main aspects to consider when enhancing the bone regenerative performance of composite materials: osteoconductivity, vascularization and osteoinduction. Bioceramics, bioglass, biomimetic scaffolds, inorganic ions, bionic periosteum, growth factors and two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials have been applied in various combinations to achieve enhanced osteogenic and bone regeneration activities. Three-dimensional (3D)-bioprinted scaffolds are a popular research topic in bone tissue engineering (BTE), and printed and customized scaffolds are suitable for restoring large irregular bone defects due to their shape and structural tunability, enhanced mechanical properties, and good biocompatibility. Herein, the recent progress in research on GelMA-based composite hydrogel scaffolds as multifunctional platforms for restoring critical bone defects in plastic or orthopedic clinics is systematically reviewed and summarized. These strategies pave the way for the design of biomimetic bone substitutes for effective bone reconstruction with good biosafety.

Simulations of water vaporization in novel internal-intensified spouted beds: Multiphase-flow, heat and mass transfer

Xinxin Che,Rong Guo,Feng Wu,Haibo Ren,Wenjing Zhou 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.116 No.-

Novel internal-intensified spouted beds (SBs) with swirl-nozzle anticlockwise-axial-swirler (SNAAS) andswirl-nozzle clockwise-axial-swirler (SNCAS) were proposed to improve the shortcomings of conventionalSBs. The water vaporization in novel internal-intensified, conventional and swirl-nozzle SBs wassimulated and the multiphase flow behavior and interphase heat and mass transfer in process were analyzed. Simulation results show the co-swirling action of novel combined internal-intensified makes gasdrive particles move helically upward around the axial-swirler. Therefore, compared with conventionaland swirler-nozzle SBs, the radial slip velocity of gas–solid and gas–liquid in two novel SBs are larger, and the contact between gas–liquid-solid phases is more sufficient. The gas–liquid-solid three-phasetemperature, water vaporization rate, and gas moisture content of two novel internal-intensified allreached the highest, indicating that novel combined internal-intensified structures are beneficial to promotingthe interphase heat and mass transfer during the water vaporization process. The mass transferenhancement factors of SNAAS and SNCAS structures are 1.91 and 1.36 times that of conventional SB,respectively.

Passive Islanding Detection Method for Grid‑Connected Inverters Based on Closed‑Loop Frequency Control

        Xintian Liu,Xinxin Zheng,Yao He,Guojian Zeng,Yanan Zhou 대한전기학회 2019 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.14 No.6

Islanding detection is one of the frontier research problems in the study of distributed grid. The non-detection zone of traditional passive detection method is large, and existing active detection methods for non-detection zones are complicated. Aiming at the above problems, this paper proposes a novel passive islanding detection method with the help of closed-loop frequency control (CFC). In this new method, a high-frequency impedance detection method is combined with CFC to prevent the occurrence of islanding, and the frequency tracking principle and high-frequency impedance characteristics of the CFC are analyzed. Load impedance characteristics under diferent islanding conditions are also discussed. Simulation and experimental results show that proposed method is able to detect the occurrence of inverter disconnection quickly and accurately, and non-detection zone is also eliminated.

      • Investigation on Digital Media Image Processing Algorithm Based on Asynchronous and Inertia Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization

Wenchao Zhang,Caigen Zhou,Xinxin Bao 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.8 No.2

With the continuous development of computer science and technology, image processing and analysis gradually form the scientific system. Although history of image processing is not long, it attracts many researchers study on it. Digital media image widely exists in many fields, such as education, video, advertisement, and so on. Process digital media image is an important part of image processing. When analyze the digital media image, we want to extract the image part we care from the original image and then method for image segmentation is quite important. That is to say that the image segmentation will divide the image into a number of regions with specific and unique nature. How to keep the original characteristics of the digital media image is quite important in the image segmentation. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for digital media image segmentation, and it is also can be used in the image processing. The algorithm is based on asynchronous particle swarm optimization algorithm to obtain the adaptive threshold; take the inertia factor into the algorithm, the optimal threshold has been acquired for the image segmentation. Compared with other particle swarm optimization algorithm, the algorithm has the advantages of stable, easy to converge to the optimal solution, and high segmentation speed.

Changes in the Expression and Distribution of Claudins, Increased Epithelial Apoptosis, and a Mannan-Binding Lectin-Associated Immune Response Lead to Barrier Dysfunction in Dextran Sodium Sulfate-Induced Rat Colitis

( Bosi Yuan ),( Shuping Zhou ),( Youke Lu ),( Jiong Liu ),( Xinxin Jin ),( Haijun Wan ),( Fangyu Wang ) 대한소화기학회 2015 Gut and Liver Vol.9 No.6

Background/Aims: This animal study aimed to define the underlying cellular mechanisms of intestinal barrier dysfunction. Methods: Rats were fed 4% with dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) to induce experimental colitis. We analyzed the sugars in 24-hour urine output by high pressure liquid chromatography. The expression of claudins, mannan-binding lectin (MBL), and MBL-associated serine proteases 2 (MASP-2) were detected in the colonic mucosa by immunohistochemistry, and apoptotic cells in the colonic epithelium were detected by the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate nick-end labeling method assay. Results: The lactulose and sucralose excretion levels in the urine of rats with DSS-induced colitis were significantly higher than those in the control rats. Mannitol excretion was lower and lactulose/mannitol ratios and sucralose/mannitol ratios were significantly increased compared with those in the control group (p<0.05). Compared with the controls, the expression of sealing claudins (claudin 3, claudin 5, and claudin 8) was significantly decreased, but that of claudin 1 was increased. The expression of pore-forming claudin 2 was upregulated and claudin 7 was downregulated in DSS-induced colitis. The epithelial apoptotic ratio was 2.8%±1.2% in controls and was significantly increased to 7.2%±1.2% in DSS-induced colitis. The expression of MBL and MASP-2 in the intestinal mucosa showed intense staining in controls, whereas there was weak staining in the rats with colitis. Conclusions: There was increased intestinal permeability in DSS-induced colitis. Changes in the expression and distribution of claudins, increased epithelial apoptosis, and the MASP-2-induced immune response impaired the intestinal epithelium and contributed to high intestinal permeability. • A Pan-Cancer Analysis of Enhancer Expression in Nearly 9000 Patient Samples

        Chen, Han,Li, Chunyan,Peng, Xinxin,Zhou, Zhicheng,Weinstein, John N.,Caesar-Johnson, Samantha J.,Demchok, John A.,Felau, Ina,Kasapi, Melpomeni,Ferguson, Martin L.,Hutter, Carolyn M.,Sofia, Heidi J.,Ta Elsevier 2018 Cell Vol.173 No.2

Summary

The role of enhancers, a key class of non-coding regulatory DNA elements, in cancer development has increasingly been appreciated. Here, we present the detection and characterization of a large number of expressed enhancers in a genome-wide analysis of 8928 tumor samples across 33 cancer types using TCGA RNA-seq data. Compared with matched normal tissues, global enhancer activation was observed in most cancers. Across cancer types, global enhancer activity was positively associated with aneuploidy, but not mutation load, suggesting a hypothesis centered on “chromatin-state” to explain their interplay. Integrating eQTL, mRNA co-expression, and Hi-C data analysis, we developed a computational method to infer causal enhancer-gene interactions, revealing enhancers of clinically actionable genes. Having identified an enhancer ∼140 kb downstream of PD-L1, a major immunotherapy target, we validated it experimentally. This study provides a systematic view of enhancer activity in diverse tumor contexts and suggests the clinical implications of enhancers.

Highlights

Systematic analysis of enhancer expression across ∼9,000 samples of 33 cancer types

Global enhancer activation positively correlates with aneuploidy but not mutations

A computational method that infers causal enhancer-target-gene relationships

Enhancers as key regulators of therapeutic targets, including PD-L1

Graphical Abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

      • Pollen record of the centennial climate changes during 9-7 cal ka BP in the Changjiang (Yangtze) River Delta plain, China

        Song, Bing,Li, Zhen,Lu, Houyuan,Mao, Limi,Saito, Yoshiki,Yi, Sangheon,Lim, Jaesoo,Li, Zhen,Lu, Anqing,Sha, Longbing,Zhou, Rui,Zuo, Xinxin,Pospelova, Vera Cambridge University Press 2017 Quaternary research Vol.87 No.2

        Abstract
We reconstructed the centennial climate changes for the period of 9-7 cal ka BP in the upper region of the Changjiang (Yangtze) River Delta plain. A general warming and wetting trend from 8560 to 7220 cal yr BP was indicated by the decrease in Quercus (deciduous) and increases in Quercus (evergreen), Pinus, and Polypodiaceae spores. However, there were several brief climate fluctuations. A notable palynological change, from regional assemblages dominated by arboreal pollen to local assemblages mainly consisting of nonarboreal pollen, reflects climate fluctuations. The key indices of Quercus (deciduous), Pinus, herbs, fern spores, and palynological concentrations showed similar signs of centennial climate fluctuations. We suggest that the climate changes of the Dongge Cave and Yangtze River Delta regions were mainly affected by the East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) during the period of 9-7 cal ka BP. The general warming trend may be associated with an intensified EASM, and solar activity may be one of the important factors driving the centennial climate changes. The ~8.2 ka event was also recorded in the Yangtze River Delta region, which suggests that there was a close relationship between the EASM and Greenland climate during the early Holocene.
