Deterministic Secure Quantum Communication Without Maximally Entangled States
Xi-Han Li,Fu-Guo Deng,Chun-Yan Li,Hong-Yu Zhou,Ping Zhou,Yu-Jie Liang 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.49 No.4
Two deterministic secure quantum communication schemes are proposed, one based on pure entangled states and the other on d-dimensional single-photon states. In these two schemes, only single-photon measurements are required for the two authorized users, which makes the schemes more convenient than others in practical applications. Although each qubit can be read out after a transmission of additional classical bit, it is unnecessary for the users to transmit qubits double the distance between the sender and the receiver, which will increase their bit rate and their security. The parties use decoy photons to check eavesdropping efficiently. The obvious advantage in the first scheme is that the pure entangled source is feasible with present techniques.
HOCl Oxidation-modified CT26 Cell Vaccine Inhibits Colon Tumor Growth in a Mouse Model
Zhou, Rui,Huang, Wen-Jun,Ma, Cong,Zhou, Yan,Yao, Yu-Qin,Wang, Yu-Xi,Gou, Lan-Tu,Yi, Chen,Yang, Jin-Liang Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.8
Despite progress in elucidating mechanisms associated with colorectal cancer and improvement of treatment methods, it remains a frequent cause of death worldwide. New and more effective therapies are therefore urgently needed. Recent studies have shown that immunogenicity of whole ovarian tumor cells and subsequent T cell response were potentiated by oxidation modification with hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in vitro and ex vivo. These results prompted us to investigate the protective antitumor response with an HOCl treated CT26 colorectal cancer cell vaccine in an in vivo mouse model. Administration of HOCl modified vaccine triggered robust antitumor immunity to autologous tumor cells in mice and prolonged survival period significantly. In addition, increased necrosis and apoptosis were found in tumor tissue from the oxidation group. Interestingly, ELISPOT assays showed that specific T cell responses were not elicited in response to the immunizing cellular antigen, in contrast to raising sera antibody titer and antibody binding activity shown by ELISA assay and flow cytometry. Further evaluation of the mechanisms underlying HOCl modified vaccine mediated humoral immunity highlighted the role of antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. These results combined with previous studies suggest that HOCl oxidation modified whole cell vaccine has wide applicability as a cancer vaccine because it can target both T cell- and B cell-specific responses. It may thus represent a promising approach for the immunotherapy of colorectal cancer.

Unstable pixels directly affect the imaging quality of the long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) mercury cadmium telluride (HgCdTe, MCT) focal-plane-array (FPA) detector. This study investigates the unstable pixels of LWIR HgCdTe linear arrays with different passivation. According to the different fluctuation characteristics, the unstable pixels are classified into four types: trend-clear type (including the rising and declining pixels), fluctuating type, comb type, and telegraph type. The number of unstable pixels under different bias voltage is counted, which indicates that when the bias voltage is large enough, the number of unstable pixels can increase sharply. By comparing the characteristics of the unstable pixels of two linear arrays with different passivation, we find that the unstable pixels are sensitive to the surface passivation. In addition, the dark currents of unstable pixels and that of normal pixels are compared, inferring that there is no apparent connection between the cause of the instability of the pixels and that of the dark current.
Dynamic response analysis of generally damped linear system with repeated eigenvalues
Yu, Rui-Fang,Zhou, Xi-Yuan,Yuan, Mei-Qiao Techno-Press 2012 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.42 No.4
For generally damped linear systems with repeated eigenvalues and defective eigenvectors, this study provides a decomposition method based on residue matrix, which is suitable for engineering applications. Based on this method, a hybrid approach is presented, incorporating the merits of the modal superposition method and the residue matrix decomposition method, which does not need to consider the defective characteristics of the eigenvectors corresponding to repeated eigenvalues. The method derived in this study has clear physical concepts and is easily to be understood and mastered by engineering designers. Furthermore, this study analyzes the applicability of step-by-step methods, including the Newmark beta and Runge-Kutta methods for dynamic response calculation of defective systems. Finally, the implementation procedure of the proposed hybrid approach is illustrated by analyzing numerical examples, and the correctness and the effectiveness of the formula are judged by comparing the results obtained from the different methods.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We report herein, an azo-derivative (<B>AzP1</B>) of FDA approved antineoplastic drug SN-38 (irinotecan analogue) as a theranostic agent with a potential for both tumor hypoxia-specific activation and therapy. The theranostic <B>AzP1</B> was found to be stable within a biologically relevant pH scale and was chemically inert towards other competitive biological analytes. However, upon treatment with rat-liver microsomes, <B>AzP1</B> showed a self-calibrated fluorescence enhancement at λem = 560 nm. The cytotoxicity profile of <B>AzP1</B> was tested in various cancer lines. Under hypoxic conditions, prodrug <B>AzP1</B> exhibited activation to release the parent drug (SN-38) and enhanced cytotoxicity in cancer cells with concomitant fluorescence enhancement at 560 nm, which served to monitor both the drug activation and tracing purposes. The therapeutic potential of <B>AzP1</B> for both tumor-specific activation and suppression of tumor weights was validated in xenograft mouse model. Collectively, the synthetic ease and hypoxia-sensitive activation along with promising therapeutic properties highlight the potential of theranostic <B>AzPI</B> in future cancer treatment programs.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
Effects of the Hippo Signaling Pathway in Human Gastric Cancer
Zhou, Guang-Xi,Li, Xiao-Yu,Zhang, Qi,Zhao, Kun,Zhang, Cui-Ping,Xue, Chang-Hu,Yang, Kun,Tian, Zi-Bin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.9
Background/Aim: The Hippo signaling pathway is a newly discovered and conserved signaling cascade, which regulates organ size control by governing cell proliferation and apoptosis. This study aimed to investigate its effects in human gastric cancer. Methods: Tumor tissues (n=60), adjacent non-tumor tissues (n=60) and normal tissues (n=60) were obtained from the same patients with primary gastric cancer (GC). In addition, 70 samples of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) tissues were obtained from patients with intestinal metaplasia (IM) by endoscopic biopsy. Hippo signaling molecules, including Mst1, Lats1, YAP1, TAZ, TEAD1, Oct4 and CDX2, were determined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). Protein expression of Mst1, Lats1, YAP1, TEAD1 and CDX2 was assessed by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting. Results: Mst1, Lats1 and Oct4 mRNA expression showed an increasing tendency from GC tissues to normal gastric tissues, while the mRNA expression of YAP1, TAZ and TEAD1 was up-regulated (all P<0.01). Mst1 and Lats1 protein expression presented a similar trend with their mRNA expression. In addition, YAP1 and TEAD1 protein expression in GC was significantly higher than in the other groups (all P<0.01). CDX2 mRNA and protein expression in the CAG group were higher than in the other groups (all P<0.01). In GC, mRNA expression of Mst1, Lats1, Oct4, YAP1, TAZ, TEAD1 and CDX2 had a close correlation with lymphatic metastasis and tumor TNM stage (all P<0.01). Furthermore, protein expression of Mst1, Lats1, YAP1, TAZ, TEAD1 and CDX2 had a close correlation between each other (P<0.05). Conclusion: The Hippo signaling pathway is involved in the development, progression and metastasis of human gastric cancer. Therefore, manipulation of Hippo signaling molecules may be a potential therapeutic strategy for gastric cancer.
Reasoning and fuzzy comprehensive assessment methods based CAD system for boiler intelligent design
Yue-xi Yu,Hong-kai Liao,Yi Zhou,Wei Zhong 대한기계학회 2015 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.29 No.3
Boilers are key industrial equipment in the field of modern manufacturing. In this study, rule-based reasoning (RBR) and case-basedreasoning (CBR) are applied into the boiler intelligent design. RBR is adopted to perform like a “sieve” for the acquisition of candidatestructure modules. Then, fuzzy comprehensive assessment method is used to select an optimal structure module among the candidates. The optimal structure module is subjected to the CBR process, which includes modification and case retention. It is a minor adjustmentprocess that needs a great amount of prior knowledge. The case retention process gives the system a self-enrich function, which will improvethe design ability of the system with continuous use of the system. A case study is presented to validate the correctness and efficiencyof proposed method.
