Generally, field performance of elastomeric track pad components has been poor, especially for the medium to heavy tonnage tracked vehicles, which are operated on the hilly cross-country course. The service life of these track pad, is affected not only by the terrain and environmental conditions but also by the speed, cornering, braking, weight of the vehicle, and the track tread design. In this research, modulus, tearing energy, and the rate of crack propagation of vulcanizates are evaluated by changing base materials to improve the service time of track pad. By increasing the contents of carbon black, modulus, tearing energy, and fatigue crack growth resistance of vulcanizates improved. Compared with the NR vulcanizate, the HNBR vulcanizate had a higher value of tearing energy. The rate of crack propagation of vulcanizates using smaller size carbon black was slower than that using larger size carbon black. When the HNBR was blended with the ZSC, the tearing energy of the vulcanizates was a little reduced because of the high modulus but the crack propagation rate was reduced significantly. In the relation between the crack propagation rate and the strain energy release rate, though up to 100% strain were applied to specimens, the slope on the log scale (β) varied between 1.72 and 2.3 with the kind of elastomer.

Background: Propofol and remifentanil are usually co-administered and have shown synergistic effect for anesthesia. However, the synergistic effect of the two drugs on hypnosis measured by bispectral index (BIS) was controversial in previous studies. The aim of this study was to identify the interaction of propofol and remifentanil on BIS and the optimal dose combinations for hypnosis under 66% N2O during surgery. Methods: Patients (age 55-75 and American Society of Anesthesiologists [ASA] 1-2) undergoing gastrectomy were enrolled in this study. Propofol and remifentanil were co-administered incrementally at 1:1 potent ratio (the P1R1 group), at 1:2 potent ratio (the P1R2 group), or at 2:1 potent ratio (the P2R1 group) using effect site target-controlled infusion and BIS was measured. 66% N2O was concomitantly administered to all groups. The dose-effect curves, the 90% effective dose (EC90) for adequate hypnosis (BIS 40), isobolograms and combination index were obtained by Calcusyn program (Biosoft) to reveal the interaction of propofol and remifentanil. Results: The P2R1 group showed synergistic action on BIS. However, the other groups needed larger amount of each drug than the doses of additive action. The EC90 of the P2R1 group was propofol, 3.34 μg/ml and remifentanil, 2.41ng/ml under 66% of N2O. Conclusions: Propofol dominant co-administration is needed for dose reduction in BIS guided hypnosis.
From Semantics to Pragmatics: the Accusative Case in Korean

In Korean, the role of an argument is coded by case markers, particles or postpositions. Those arguments encode semantic functions to a certain degree. Among them, the accusative case marker -(l)ul represents a patient or theme which is undergoing an action. The presence of an accusative marked argument implies that there has been an actor which highly affected the patient. As some meaning resides in case markers, case alternation without a change in verbal morphology reflects differences of semantic functions. The role of the accusative case is not limited to semantics. It indicates some epistemic modalities. A speaker encodes a 'doubt in truth' modality of a -ko complement before verbs of saying and perception by choosing the accusative case instead of the nominative case. And the accusative case may be added to the -ci verbal connective in the long form negation to convey a speaker's attitude
Design and implementation of IP data reassembly processor for multimedia STB

<P>This paper describes hardware-based IP data reassembly processor for multimedia STB (set-top-box) compatible with DVB-RCS. The conventional IP reassembly scheme is based on software processing of multimedia STB. As the transmission rate increases in order to support the broadband multimedia data services, the CPU load of multimedia STB is increased and reassembly performance is degraded. To provide smooth and flexible broadband multimedia data services, we proposed hardware based high speed reassembly processor. It has been tested and confirmed to meet required functions and performances.</P>
