A Development of Assessment Model for Maintenance of Type R Fire Alarm System in the Building

Type R fire alarm is required intelligent buildings and height buildings which was based on automatic system. But in Korea, maintenance of fire alarm system is very poor. In this study, we developed assessment model for the type R fire alarm system which was assessed by using 96 checklist items. The assessment model was tested through the actual 4 buildings with type R fire alarm system. It is shown that present model can be applied for the assessment of all buildings through the examination of the suitability of assessment model by actual assessment. Also, it was made easily fire manager to carry out checklist for type R fire alarm system in buildings.

<P><B>Significance</B></P><P>We propose an implantable multireservoir device equipped with stimulus-responsive membrane to allow for on-demand and pulsatile drug delivery. The stimulus-responsive membrane is made of a thermosensitive polymer, POSS(MEO<SUB>2</SUB>MA-co-OEGMA), and photothermal nanoparticles of reduced graphene oxide. Each of the drug reservoirs is filled with the same amount of human growth hormone and capped with the stimulus-responsive membrane. Therefore, when implanted in living animals, the device herein can deliver drug reproducibly by rupturing a stimulus-responsive membrane only at the times of near-infrared irradiation applied from the outside body without showing complications.</P><P>Implantable devices for on-demand and pulsatile drug delivery have attracted considerable attention; however, many devices in clinical use are embedded with the electronic units and battery inside, hence making them large and heavy for implantation. Therefore, we propose an implantable device with multiple drug reservoirs capped with a stimulus-responsive membrane (SRM) for on-demand and pulsatile drug delivery. The SRM is made of thermosensitive POSS(MEO<SUB>2</SUB>MA-co-OEGMA) and photothermal nanoparticles of reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and each of the drug reservoirs is filled with the same amount of human growth hormone (hGH). Therefore, with noninvasive near-infrared (NIR) irradiation from the outside skin, the rGO nanoparticles generate heat to rupture the SRM in the implanted device, which can open a single selected drug reservoir to release hGH. Therefore, the device herein is shown to release hGH reproducibly only at the times of NIR irradiation without drug leakage during no irradiation. When implanted in rats with growth hormone deficiency and irradiated with an NIR light from the outside skin, the device exhibits profiles of hGH and IGF1 plasma concentrations, as well as body weight change, similar to those in animals treated with conventional s.c. hGH injections.</P>
Intracerebral Hemorrhage Remote From the Site of Aneurysm Surgery

과거 13년간 수술적 가료를 시행한 720례의 뇌동맥류 환자중 5례(0.7%)에서 수술부위에서 원격한 부위에 뇌내출혈이 발생되었다. 환자들은 후교통동맥류 2례, 전교통동맥류 2례 및 전교통동맥류와 중대뇌동맥류를 가진 1례였다. 출혈부위는 소뇌 3례, 수술부위의 반대측 대뇌 1례 및 수술부위와 원격한 동측 대뇌 1례였고, 출혈시기는 지주막하 출혈후 4례가 15일에서 23일 사이에 1례가 5일후에 발생되었다. 특징적으로는 이들 환자들에서 갑자기 혈압이 고혈압으로 상승하였다가 저하되는 혈압의 유동성이 관찰되었는데 술전에 3례, 술후에 전예에서 관찰되었었다. 또란 이들중 3례에서는 술전 뇌혈관 연축에 기인한 허혈성 증상들을 보였었다. 결론적으로 뇌동맥류수술후 야기되는 원격 뇌내출혈의 원인은 뇌혈관연축의 완화기에 협압의 갑작스런 유동이 원인이 될 것으로 추정되고, 이러한 합병증을 예방하기 위하여서는 수술시 혹은 술후 혈압변동을 최소화하는 것이 필요할 것으로 생각된다. 또한 술전에 뇌혈관연축에 기인한 뇌허혈증상을 보였던 환자나 혈압의 유동을 보였던 환자들에서는 이러한 합병증이 발생을 예방하기 위하여 특히 더욱 세심한 혈압조절이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. In order to find out possible causes and measures for prevention of intracerebral hemorrhage remote from the site of cerebral aneurysm surgery. the authors analyzed five patients who developed such a complication following aneurysm surgery among 72O surgical cases of cerebral aneurysm. The aneurysm sites were posterior communicating artery(Pcom) in two cases. anterior communicating artery(Acom) in two. and Acom and middle cerebral artery(HCA) in one. The hemorrhages in three cases occurred in the cerebellum. one in the contralateral hemisphere and one in the ipsilateral hemisphere to the operation site. All hemorrhages except one occurred between 15 and 23 days following an aneurysm rupture and three of five cases showed ischemic symptoms due to vasospasm preoperatively. Fluctuation of blood pressure with sudden elevation to a high level was noticed in three cases preoperatively and in all cases postoperatively. We conclude that sudden elevation of blood pressure during the remission stage of vasospasm seems to be a possible cause for remote hemorrhage. To prevent this complication, we recommend meticulous control of blood pressure during surgery and in the postoperative period. especially in cases that showed fluctuation of blood pressure preoperativsly.

<P>Abstract</P><P><I>Background:</I> The aims of this study were to determine (1) the prevalence of atopic dermatitis (AD) in Seoul, Korea, and (2) the influence of environmental and genetic factors on disease risk. <I>Methods:</I> A questionnaire survey was conducted in 5,036 primary school children and 4,607 middle school children in 2008. For each child, a modified version of the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC) questionnaire and a questionnaire assessing exposure to environmental variables were completed. <I>Results:</I> In primary school children, the lifetime prevalence of itchy eczema was 24.3%, the 12-month prevalence of itchy flexural eczema was 18.0%, the lifetime prevalence of AD diagnosis was 31.3%, and the 12-month prevalence of AD treatment was 14.5%. In middle school children, the corresponding rates were 16.0, 10.8, 22.1, and 8.3%, respectively. These rates are significantly higher than those reported in similar studies conducted in 1995 and 2000. In both primary and middle school children, a parental history of allergic disease and a history of having moved into a newly built house before 1 year of age were independently associated with a risk for current AD. For current AD, the prevalence odds ratio was higher in the subgroup with both a genetic and a specific environmental risk factor than in the subgroup with no risk factor or subgroups with only one risk factor. <I>Conclusions:</I> The prevalence of AD in primary and middle school children in Seoul has increased. Its development may be influenced by gene-environment interactions, particularly before 1 year of age.</P><P>Copyright © 2011 S. Karger AG, Basel</P>

The practical design methodology of a three-phase dual active bridge (3ph-DAB) converter applied to low voltage direct current (LVDC) applications is proposed by using a mathematical model based on the steady-state operation. An analysis of the small-signal model (SSM) is important for the design of a proper controller to improve the stability and dynamics of the converter. The proposed lead-lag controller for the 3ph-DAB converter is designed with a simplified SSM analysis including an equivalent series resistor (ESR) for the output capacitor. The proposed controller can compensate the effects of the ESR zero of the output capacitor in the control-to-output voltage transfer function that can cause high-frequency noises. In addition, the performance of the power converter can be improved by using a controller designed by a SSM analysis without additional cost. The accuracy of the simplified SSM including the ESR zero of the output capacitor is verified by simulation software (PSIM). The design methodology of the 3ph-DAB converter and the performance of the proposed controller are verified by experimental results obtained with a 5-kW prototype 3ph-DAB converter.
A Study on Identification of Nonminimum Phase Stable System from Partial Impulse Response Sequences

This paper addresses the problem of identifying the class of all stable system transfer functions that interpolate the given partial impulse response sequence. In this context, classical Pade approximations that are also stable, are shown to be a special case of this general formulation. The theory developed in this connection is utilized to obtain a new criterion for determining the model order and system parameters for rational systems, and, further, to generate nonminimum phase optimal stable rational approximatinos of nonrational systems from its impulse response sequence.
