        In situ synthesis of MgWO4–GO nanocomposites and their catalytic effect on the thermal decomposition of HMX, RDX and AP

        For solving phase separation of nanoparticles and graphene oxide (GO) in the application process, MgWO4–GO nanocom�posites were successfully synthesized using three diferent dispersants via a facile solvothermal-assisted in situ synthesis method. The structure and morphology of the prepared samples were characterized by X-ray difraction, Scanning electron microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared and Raman techniques. The experimental results show that MgWO4 nanoparticles are tightly anchored on the surfaces of GO sheets and the agglomeration of MgWO4 nano�particles is signifcantly weakened. Additionally, MgWO4–GO nanocomposites are more stable than self-assembly MgWO4/ GO, which there is no separation of MgWO4 nanoparticles and GO sheets by ultrasound after 10 min. The catalytic results show that, compared with bare MgWO4, MgWO4–GO nanocomposites present better catalytic activities on the thermal decomposition of cyclotetramethylenete tranitramine (HMX), cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) and ammonium per�chlorate (AP). The enhanced catalytic activity is mainly attributed to the synergistic efect of MgWO4 nanoparticles and GO. MgWO4–GO prepared using urea as the dispersant has the smallest diameter and possesses the best catalytic action among the three MgWO4–GO nanocomposites, which make the decomposition temperature of HMX, RDX and AP reduce by 10.71, 11.09 and 66.6 °C, respectively, and the apparent activation energy of RDX decrease by 68.6 kJ mol−1

        Ballistic transport in 5.1 nm monolayer boron phosphide transistors for high-performance applications

        Boron Phosphide is reported to be a semiconductor material with anisotropy, tunable bandgap, and high carrier mobility. We study the performance of 5.1 nm metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) based on boron phosphide using quantum transport simulation. The calculated results show that the on-state current can fulfill the requirements of the International Semiconductor Technology Roadmap (ITRS) for high-performance (HP) devices at the optimal doping concentration, but the gate control capability is not ideal. Furthermore, it is found that the gate control capability and on-state current can be significantly improved with the length being 1 nm by using the underlap (UL) structure. We also study the performance of boron phosphide MOSFET with different gate lengths (5–8 nm), and the results suggest that the shorter the gate length, the worse the gate control capability. Interestingly, the p-type boron phosphide MOSFET always outperforms the n-type MOSFET. This work will provide a new reference for the development of two-dimensional (2D) semiconductor devices.

        PSD Integrated Calibration Method Based on Annunciator in Vacuum Environment

        In this paper, an integrated calibration method for position sensitive detector (PSD) of moving support mechanism in vacuum plasma environment is proposed. That is, the PSD is used to track the laser spot to restore the coordinate information of the signal. Firstly, a PSD integrated calibration principle is proposed to reduce the position error of the signaler by tracking laser points with PSD. Then on this basis, due to the spatial declination angle in the PSD imaging model, a spatial declination correction model was established to compensate the spatial declination error. Finally, there are errors occurred in the measurement because of the nonlinearity of PSD, and the improved backpropagation (BP) neural network calibration algorithm is adopted to further correct the errors through the Fletcher–Reeves linear search method to obtain the accurate coordinate information of the annunciator. MATLAB is used to verify the convergence of the calibration algorithm error. Simulation results show that 951 epochs need to be trained by using the traditional BP algorithm to make the position error converge to 0.001 mm. But when using the improved BP algorithm, only 44 epochs are needed.

        The Antiobesity Effects and Potential Mechanisms of Theaflavins

        Theaflavins are the characteristic polyphenols in black tea which can be enzymatically synthesized. In thisreview, the effects and molecular mechanisms of theaflavins on obesity and its comorbidities, including dyslipidemia, insulinresistance, hepatic steatosis, and atherosclerosis, were summarized. Theaflavins ameliorate obesity potentially via reducingfood intake, inhibiting pancreatic lipase to reduce lipid absorption, activating the adenosine monophosphate-activated proteinkinase (AMPK), and regulating the gut microbiota. As to the comorbidities, theaflavins ameliorate hypercholesterolemia byinhibiting micelle formation to reduce cholesterol absorption. Theaflavins improve insulin sensitivity by increasing thesignaling of protein kinase B, eliminating glucose toxicity, and inhibiting inflammation. Theaflavins ameliorate hepaticsteatosis via activating AMPK. Theaflavins reduce atherosclerosis by upregulating nuclear factor erythropoietin-2-relatedfactor 2 signaling and inhibiting plasminogen activator inhibitor 1. In randomized controlled trails, black tea extractscontaining theaflavins reduced body weight in overweight people and improved glucose tolerance in healthy adults. Theamelioration on the hyperlipidemia and the prevention of coronary artery disease by black tea extracts were supportedby meta-analysis.

        Effect of 2,2-azobis (2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride oxidized casein on the microstructure and microrheology properties of emulsions

        The impacts of protein oxidation on the droplet size and microrheology properties of casein emulsions with 20% oil content were investigated. The degree of protein oxidation was indicated by carbonyl concentration. The droplets in the emulsions of different-oxidation-degree casein had bimodal distribution, but their size altered due to oxidation. The effects of protein oxidation on the morphology, motion type, viscoelasticity, and stability of droplets were also investigated by microrheology analysis. The droplet motion was blocked by protein oxidation due to mean square displacement slope results. Solid-liquid balance values provided the liquid behavior dominating these emulsions. Oxidation of carbonyl concentration 16.72 raised the primary droplets, increased the elasticity, decreased the viscosity, and promoted the droplet motion rate, resulting in better stability of emulsions. Further oxidation promoted the aggregation of droplets and resulted in poor stability.

        21st century has been called the city centuries. With the acceleration of globalization, competition between nations is increasingly reflected in cities. Considering this situation, governments have wanted to own the most development potential of the city to enhance the global cities, making participation in the international division of labor and competition represented. Throughout the internationally recognized history of the global cities, all vetted by a national to a regional economic center of the city until the global cities in the world stage of development. Selection of Beijing global city index system, the starting point is the hope that through the content as well as on the global city indicators comprehensive sort, research formed with Chinese characteristics, the characteristics of global cities Beijing targets and indicators. The author based on a number of theories, data and case studies, mainly to complete the work and achievements of the following: first, review carding international awareness about the global cities, which extract the common features of the global cities and generally there is a dispute, presented to the global cities rethinking. Second, through the International Recognition of the global cities, cities in the world to extract certain identifiable, comparability and oriented indicators. Third, Beijing urban targets set world connotation characteristics, including the capital-based, comprehensive, world cultural city type, Chinese style, Beijing characteristics, etc. Fourth, combined with international practice and Beijing, we proposed line with world trends and characteristics of the index system of Beijing, including General nature, characteristics and trends of sexual and other three dimensions, International Beijing Network Beijing, humanistic Beijing, Science and Technology Beijing ecological Beijing, wisdom Beijing and Beijing seven areas of good governance, 30 representative indicators framework and expand monitoring and early warning research on the Beijing Global City to make an objective analysis of the level of real processes, and thus efforts should be made clear Beijing"s eight main directions are given three strategic actions recommended.

        유산균을 이용한 발효삼정환의 미생물 특성 및 세포 보호 효과

        Objectives: To confirm microbiological change and cytoprotective effect of Samjung-hwan (SJH) which fermented by Lactic acid bacteria from natural fermented SJH. Methods: SJH was fermented by Lactobacillus brevis and Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis from natural fermented SJH. After 1 week of fermentation, we analysed pH and microbial profiling. We also performed measuring total polyphenol total flavonoid contents and 1,1-Diphenyl-2- picryhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity to investigate antioxidant ability. Cell viability was performed by using HepG2 cell. Results: pH of lactic acid bacteria inoculated group and non-inoculated group was decreased and total counts of lactic acid bateria for both group was increased after fermentation of SJH. Total polyphenol and flavonoid contents and DPPH free radical scavenging activity was increased in both group. Total polyphenol contents of lactic acid bacteria Inoculated group is more increased than non-inoculated group. HepG2 cell viability was increased in both group. Conclusions: SJH fermentd by Lactobacillus brevis and Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis shows change in microbiological character and has cytoprotective effect. Further studies are required for investigating function of lactic acid bacteria during fermentation of SJH.

        Recent Progress on Corrosion Behavior and Mechanism of Mg–RE Based Alloys with Long Period Stacking Ordered Structure

        Mg alloys containing long period stacking ordered (LPSO) structures possess excellent mechanical properties and corrosionresistance, exhibiting great application potential in biodegradable implants. The corrosion process of different LPSOphases in the Mg alloys need to be furtherly clarified in different solution environments. In this paper, we mainly reviewedthe influencing factors on the corrosion behavior of LPSO-containing Mg alloys, including the alloying elements, processingtechnologies, and the types, volume fractions and distributions of LPSO phases. Recent researches are well summarized withan emphasis on their corrosion mechanism. Special attention is given to the key issues for LPSO-containing Mg alloys asbiomedical implants, with their biodegradation behavior comprehensively discussed. The motivation is to provide theoreticalsupport for the possible application of LPSO-containing Mg alloys in the biomedical field.

        New Drug Development using Korean Herbal Formulae: A model role study

        Objectives:Traditional Korean herbal formulae are composed of multiple medicinal plants. This situation of multiple-ingredient mixtures has been considered as a major obstacle to new drug development using herbal formulae in the world market, despite the effectiveness of such mixtures. This study reviewed Liv-52 as a representative model of successful drug development using a multiple-herb mixture. Methods:All articles for Liv-52 were collected from the PubMed database. The history, composition of Liv-52, its pharmaceutical efficacy and mechanisms, and data from clinical studies including its market size were analyzed. Results:Liv-52 is composed of seven herbal plants and it is the best known in Ayurvedic medicine for treating liver disorders. Since its 1955 introduction, forty four international papers have been published based on pre-clinical and clinical trials. The efficacy and mechanisms of Liv-52 were intensively studied. Currently, Liv-52 is one of the top-selling products, with over 10 million dollars sales annually, in the world market. Conclusions:These results indicate that Korean herbal formulae could be new global drugs if scientific evidence for efficacy and standardization are produced via literature researches.
