The Effect of Trade Integration on Business Cycle Synchronization in East Asia
NGUYEN, Vinh Thi Hong,HOANG, Thuy Thi Thanh,NGUYEN, Sang Minh Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.8
The paper aims to investigate the impact of trade integration on business cycle synchronization for the East Asian countries during 2005- 2017 based on the endogeneity hypothesis of Optimum Currency Area criteria. We test the determinants of business cycles by calculating bilateral trade, financial integration, and business cycle synchronization. Applying the system Generalized Method of Moments for dynamic panel data models, the results show that business cycle synchronization is highly associated with trade and financial integration. These findings confirm the endogeneity hypothesis that more trade integration will mitigate asymmetric shocks, and have a positive impact on the business cycle synchronization. The increased trade intensity and financial linkage lead to more correlated business cycles in East Asia. Apart from trade and financial integration, the trade structure differential, monetary policy similarity also influence the business cycle comovement. The significantly negative impact of trade structure differential on business cycle synchronization suggests that countries with less similar structures are more likely to undergo asymmetric shocks. The results also indicate that monetary policy matters for output comovement. This study recommends that the East Asian countries should focus on bilateral trade as well as financial integration with each other to reap benefits from the integration process.
The Determinants of Environmental Information Disclosure in Vietnam Listed Companies
NGUYEN, Thi Le Hang,NGUYEN, Thi Thu Hien,NGUYEN, Thi Thanh Huyen,LE, Thi Hong Anh,NGUYEN, Van Cong Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.2
Environmental pollution and climate change in Vietnam are now becoming a major concern. This situation is increasing the pressure on the companies to improve their social responsibility in production and business activities and disclose the environmental information to meet the requirements of stakeholders. This study investigates the internal and external factors of the company that affects the environmental information disclosure of listed companies on the Vietnam stock market as business sector, firm size, corporate manager perceptions, profitability, financial leverage, community pressure, pressures from stakeholders, government pressure influencing environmental information disclosure. Analytical data collected through the survey of 120 listed companies on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE). By testing Cronbach's Alpha, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and logistic regression analysis, the results of the study show that the level of environmental information disclosure of listed companies on the stock market in Vietnam depends heavily on government regulations, followed by the pressure from stakeholders, community pressure, views of business managers, companies size, business sector, and particularly profitability and financial leverage factors that have a negative relationship with environmental information disclosure.

The existence of correlation characteristics brings significant potential advantages to the development of efficient routing protocols in wireless sensor networks. This research proposes a new simple method of clustering sensor nodes into correlation groups in multiple-correlation areas. At first, the evaluation of joint entropy for multiple-sensed data is considered. Based on the evaluation, the definition of correlation region, based on entropy theory, is proposed. Following that, a correlation clustering scheme with less computation is developed. The results are validated with a real data set.
Perception of Organizational Support to Lecturers' Research Motivation: The Case of Vietnam
NGUYEN, Thanh Do,BUI, Thi Hong Viet,NGUYEN, Thi Le Thuy,TRAN, Manh Dung,TRAN, Thi Kim Nhung Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.2
The aim of this study is to test the direct relationship and the indirect relationship of the perceived organizational support to lecturers' research motivation through "expectation" factor (belief in ability). The subject of the study is lecturers who are teaching and researching in the fields of economic, management and business administration at universities in Vietnam. The questionnaires were directly sent to lecturers at scientific conferences, sent out via e-mail and Facebook, the questionnaires were designed on google docs and directly sent to the lecturers. The detailed sample includes 475 respondents. The results of a quantitative analysis with a research sample of 475 lecturers in economics universities in Vietnam show that it is impossible to separate between lecturers' research ability and motivation. Lecturers with increased expectation (in terms of capability) also have increased research motivation, and vice versa. At the same time, the research also affirms the role of perceived organizational support, which not only has a direct positive impact on research motivation, but also increases expectation, thus, indirectly influence research motivation. This suggests that the solution for managers who want to improve research motivation by having measures to increase the expectation for the lecturers through various forms of organizational support.
Carbon-Nanotube Growth over Iron Nanoparticles Formed on CaCO3 Support by Using Hydrogen Reduction

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were grown by chemical vapor deposition on a mixture of iron salt and CaCO3. Salt mixtures of Fe(NO₃)₃9H₂O/CaCO₃ and FeCl₃6H₂O/CaCO₃ with various Fe weight contents were used as catalysts for growing the CNTs. A scanning electron microscope study revealed that the CNTs were densely grown on the Fe(NO₃)₃9H₂O/CaCO₃ catalyst containing 5 wt.% Fe. The effect of growth temperature on the segregation of Fe nanoparticles formed by hydrogen reduction is discussed. The result shows that 800 ℃ is the optimal temperature for the formation of Fe nanoparticles over which CNTs grow with the highest yield of 78.61 %. A raman spectroscope and a scanning transmission electron microscope were utilized to characterize the multiwall structure of the CNTs. The 92.16 % purity of the CNTs was determined by using thermal gravimetric analysis. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were grown by chemical vapor deposition on a mixture of iron salt and CaCO3.
