        Numerical Analysis of the Causes of Curved Soil Levee Breaches in Seasonal Freeze-Thaw Areas

        The phenomenon that curved soil levees in seasonal freeze-thaw areas were repeatedlydamaged after being repaired indicated that the failure mechanism of it has certain uniquecharacteristics. To clarify this, a 3D fluid-solid coupling model was adopted to investigate thefailure mechanism from the perspective of hydrodynamics and temperature. The resultsshowed that during flood season the water pressure at the curve was much higher than that atthe straight area. High water pressure can cause higher water content at the curve. Meanwhile, thecurved levee is in essence a breach-sealing portion of levee. Hence, the frost-thaw damage ofrevetment and differential settlement of pavement are more likely to occur during winter. Damage of revetment can aggravate the erosion at the curve while differential settlement caninduce the transverse fracture. These findings can provide a reference for reasonabledifferential settlement control as well as instruction of protective measures.

        Characterization of a novel variant HMW‐glutenin gene from Elymus canadensis

        High molecular weight (HMW) glutenin subunits (GS) play a key role in the determination of end‐use quality of wheat and other cereal crops. In this study, we report the isolation and characterization of both promoter region and ORF of novel HMW‐GS allele 1St1.3 from a perennial Triticeae species,Elymus canadensis. The amino acid (AA) sequences of E. canadensis 1St1.3 were deduced as 434 aa. Its protein primary structure comprises a signal peptide with a conserved N‐terminal domain, a central repetitive domain and a C‐terminal domain. E. canadensis 1St 1.3 possesses several distinct characteristics which are different from those of wheat HMW‐GSs. The N‐terminal domains of E. canadensis 1St 1.3 resemble that of y‐type subunits, while their C‐terminal domains are more similar to x‐type subunits. The deletion of 85 bp fragment has been observed in promoter region of 1St 1.3, however which has not interrupted the expression of this gene. Our results indicate that 1St 1.3 is novel HMW‐GS variants which will be valuable for enhancing our understanding of structural differentiation and the evolutionary relationship among HMW‐GSs in Triticeae species.

        Calcined Attapulgite Clay as Supplementary Cementing Material: Thermal Treatment, Hydration Activity and Mechanical Properties

        The present paper studied the effects of calcination temperatures (200–800 °C) on the appearance, mineral composition, and active SiO2 content in attapulgite and investigated the effects of attapulgite before and after calcination on the chemically bonded water content, the degree of reaction of cement paste, and the mechanical properties such as the flexural strength, compressive strength, and splitting-tensile strength of cement mortar. The results indicate that the calcination temperature changes the mineral composition of attapulgite, thereby affecting the hydration activity of cement-based materials. The attapulgite calcined at 500 °C (AT500) has the best enhancement on the hydration activity of cement-based materials. The calcination at 500 °C is most beneficial to the dissolution of SiO2, and the content of SiO2 reaches 20.96%. The contents of chemically bonded water in the samples incorporated with calcined attapulgite reduced and that of the samples incorporated with AT500 at 28 d is the same as that of the control group. The reaction degree of AT500 is 78.61% at 28 days. Calcined attapulgite clay can reduce the energy consumption of the cement industry and promote the sustainable development of attapulgite clay.

        One-Stage Anterolateral Debridement, Bone Grafting, and Internal Fixation for Treating Lumbosacral Tuberculosis

        Study Design: Retrospective case series. Purpose: To investigate the clinical efficacy and feasibility of one-stage anterolateral debridement, bone grafting, and internal fixation for treating lumbosacral tuberculosis. Overview of Literature: There has been no consensus regarding the optimal means of treating lumbosacral tuberculosis. The onestage anterolateral extraperitoneal approach for radical debridement, bone grafting, and internal fixation for treating lumbosacral tuberculosis is rare in literature. Methods: Twenty-one patients with lumbosacral tuberculosis were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent the surgery of anterolateral debridement after regularly antituberculous drugs therapy. We evaluated the erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C-reactive protein, radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, visual analogue score, and Oswestry disability index before and after surgery. Results: All patients completed a follow-up survey 9–48 months after surgery. All patients’ wounds healed well without chronic infection or sinus formation, and all patients with low-back pain reported relief after surgery. All cases had no tuberculosis recurrence. Solid bony fusion was achieved within 6–12 months. At final follow-up, evaluated the erythrocyte sedimentation rate decreased from 38.1±12.5 to 11.3±7.1 mm/hr, C-reactive protein decreased from 6.2±4.2 to 1.6±1.3 mg/dL, the visual analog scale score decreased from 4.6±1.1 to 1.4±1.0, the Oswestry disability index score decreased from 50.2%±11.9% to 13.0%±6.6%, and the lumbosacral angle increased from 20.0°±4.8° to 29.0°±3.9° (p <0.05). Conclusions: One-stage anterolateral debridement, bone grafting, and internal instrument fixation for treating lumbosacral tuberculosis is safe and effective.

        Tensile and Fracture Properties of Silicon Carbide Whisker-Modified Cement-Based Materials

        Silicon carbide whiskers (SiCw) have many excellent properties such as high strength, high elastic modulus, and high temperature resistance. In this paper, by using water reducer as dispersant, a stable SiCw dispersion was obtained, and SiCw-modified cement-based composites were prepared. Tensile strength tests for 8-shaped specimens were carried out on the materials. The fracture properties of the materials were measured using a three-point bending test with pre-cracks based on the digital image correlation method. The microstructure of the SiCw-modified mortar was observed by SEM. The results showed that the SiCw improved the tensile strength of the cement-based materials, and the addition of SiCw effectively improved the fracture toughness of mortar. The SiCw caused crack deflection during crack propagation, accompanied by whisker pull-out and bridging phenomena. The SiCw bridging effect and pull-out mechanism effectively controlled the crack propagation and played a toughening role, thus enhancing the crack resistance of mortar.

      • Moving Object Detection and Identification Method Based on Vision

        In traffic monitoring system, moving object monitor is the key part of monitoring system. This paper proposed a non-reference background detection method based on the reference background model for the poor detection effect of Gaussian background modeling. The model utilizes a series of sampling values to estimate the probability model of observed pixels before current pixels; Then binaryzation moving object detection based on the probability model. In terms of moving object identification, this paper proposed several features, and being trained and identified through BP neural network. The experimental result indicated that this background model can detect the foreground moving object effectively, and achieved satisfied effect on pedestrians and vehicles target recognition rate.

        Fine mapping and candidate gene analysis of the dwarf gene d162(t) in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

        In our previous study, d162(t), a single recessive gene, which caused rice dwarf mutant, had been mapped on the short arm of chromosome 3. In this study, the d162(t) gene was fine mapped to a confined region about 0.82 cM by RM14641 and RM3134, and co-segregated with InDel361-2, InDel361-3,InDel361-5, RM14645, RM1022 and RM14643, where no known gene involved in plant height has been identified. Based on the annotation results of TIGR, dozens of open reading frames (ORFs) were predicted in this region, among them,five ORFs were the most possible genes related to the phenotype. In these ORFs, Os03g13010, related to U-box domain containing protein, had a 62bp segment deletion in the coding region in 162d (mutant type, MT). The results of RT-PCR showed that the transcriptional level of Os03g13010was significantly different between Shuhui162 (wild type, WT)and 162d (MT). Therefore, the gene (Os03g13010) encoding a U-box domain containing protein was considered as the candidate gene of d162(t).

        Chaotic dynamic characteristics of pressure fluctuation signals in hydro-turbine

        The pressure fluctuation characteristics in a Francis hydro-turbine running at partial flow conditions were studied based on the chaotic dynamic methods. Firstly, the experimental data of pressure fluctuations in the draft tube at various flow conditions was de-noised using lifting wavelet transformation, then, for the de-noised signals, their spectrum distribution on the frequency domain, the energy variation and the energy partition accounting for the total energy was calculated. Hereby, for the flow conditions ranging from no cavitation to severe cavitation, the chaos dynamic features of fluctuation signals were analyzed, including the temporal-frequency distribution, phase trajectory, Lyapunov exponent and Poincaré map etc. It is revealed that, the main energy of pressure fluctuations in the draft tube locates at low-frequency region. As the cavitation grows, the amplitude of power spectrum at frequency domain becomes larger. For all the flow conditions, all the maximal Lyapunov exponents are larger than zero, and they increase with the cavitation level. Therefore, it is believed that there indeed exist the chaotic attractors in the pressure fluctuation signals for a hydro-turbine.

        온라인 쇼핑의 상호작용, 실재감이 신뢰도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향: SOR 모델을 중심으로

        In the past two years, consumers have more opportunities to choose online shopping due to the influence of COVID-19, and many offline stores have switched from offline to online. Therefore, enhancing the experience of consumers in the shopping platform becomes a new focus of discussion. This study takes the online shopping platform as the research object, through questionnaires to investigate the people with online shopping experience. The results show that consumer-platform interaction, consumer-seller interaction and consumer interaction have a positive effect on consumers' social and physical presence. The impact of social presence on consumer confidence has not been felt. This study theoretically verifies the influence of interaction on purchasing intention, establishes the core role of consumer trust in purchasing behavior, and presence that there is a positive influence on trust. In the part of practice, this thesis provides reference direction for the future interactive experience of online shopping platform, enhancing consumer trust and purchasing intention. 최근 2년 동안 코로나-19의 영향으로 소비자들이 온라인 쇼핑을 선택할 기회가 증가하여 많은 오프라인 매장이 온라인 운영으로 전환되었다. 따라서 쇼핑 플랫폼에서 소비자의 경험을 향상시키는 것이 새로운 논의의 초점이 되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 소비자와 플랫폼, 소비자와 판매자, 소비자와 소비자 간의 상호 작용을 통해 소비자의 쇼핑 실재감,신뢰도와 사용 의도 사이의 영향을 향상시키는 데 있다. 연구 결과에 따르면 소비자와 플랫폼의 상호 작용, 소비자와 판매자의 상호 작용, 소비자 간의 상호 작용은 소비자의 사회적 실재감과 물리적 실재감에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 물리적 실재감은 소비자 신뢰도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 소비자 신뢰도는 구매 의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 사회적 실재감은 소비자 신뢰도에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 드러났다. 본 연구에서는 상호 작용이 구매 의도에 미치는 영향에 대해 이론적 검증을 실시하였고 구매 행동에 미치는 소비자 신뢰의 핵심 역할을 확립하였으며 신뢰에 대한 실제 인식의 긍정적인 영향을 검증하였다. 또한, 향후 온라인 쇼핑 플랫폼의 상호 작용 경험과 소비자 신뢰도 및 구매 의도에 대한 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다.

      • Relationships of uPA and VEGF Expression in Esophageal Cancer and Microvascular Density with Tumorous Invasion and Metastasis

        Objective: To investigate uPA and VEGF expression in esophageal cancer and relations with tumorous invasion and metastasis. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect uPA and VEGF expression in the normal epithelial tissue of esophageal mucosa and cancer tissue and detect CD34 labeled micrangium and analyze the relationships with clinical pathological features and tumor angiogenesis. Results: Positive rates for uPA and VEGF protein expression were significantly greater in esophageal cancer than normal epithelial tissue (P < 0.05), the two being linked (P <0.05). In addition, uPA and VEGF protein expression of the high microvessel density (MVD) group was significantly lower than in the low MVD group (P < 0.05), with relation to clinical pathological staging, differentiation and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). Conclusion: In esophageal cancer tissue, uPA and VEGF proteins are overexpressed and promote tumor angiogenesis, indicative of a poor prognosis.
