장효지(Hyo-Ji Jang),김성희(Sung-Hee Kim) 중앙대학교 한국교육문제연구소 2016 한국교육문제연구 Vol.34 No.2
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of a Korean folktale based rhythm-word play activity on children’s language, drawing representation, and traditional Korean music ability in an early childhood education. ‘The Construction Meaning Comprehension Test’ is used to measure children’s language ability and it was developed and standardized by Seoul Community Rehabilitation Center(2009), ‘Traditional Korean Music Ability Test’ developed by Park Hyung-Shin(2006), ‘The Drawing Representation Inventory’ developed by Chi Sung-Ae(2001). In conclusion, a ‘Korean folktale based rhythm-word play activity’ has positive effects on language and traditional Korean music ability development. This study proves the validity of applying ‘ a Korean folktale based rhythm-word play activity’ in young children's education. Therefore, children’s language ability and traditional Korean music ability can be effectively increased by actively applying ‘a Korean folktale based rhythm-word play activity’ teaching-learning method in young children's education.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether the phenyl-thiophenyl propenone RK-I-123 suppresses interleukin-8 (IL-8) expression and activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) and transcription factors (nuclear factor-κB [NF-κB] and activator protein-1 [AP-1]) by reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in Helicobacter pylori-infected gastric epithelial cells. MATERIAL: Helicobacter pylori in Korean isolates, human gastric epithelial AGS cells. TREATMENT: AGS cells pretreated with or without RK-I-123 were cultured in the presence of H. pylori at a bacterium/cell ratio of 300:1. METHODS: Reactive oxygen species and IL-8 levels were determined by dichlorofluorescein fluorescence and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The IL-8 mRNA expression was analyzed by the real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The MAPK and IκBα levels were determined by western blotting. The activation of NF-κB and AP-1 was determined by the electrophoretic mobility shift assay. RESULTS: Helicobacter pylori induced an increase in ROS and IL-8 expression and activation of MAPKs and transcription factors (NF-κB and AP-1) together with the degradation of IκBα in AGS cells, all of which were inhibited by RK-I-123. CONCLUSIONS: The RK-I-123 suppressed the H. pylori-induced IL-8 expression and activation of MAPKs, NF-κB, and AP-1 by reducing ROS levels in AGS cells. The RK-I-123 may be a potential candidate for the treatment of H. pylori-induced gastric inflammation.
Computational Study of Catechol-(H2O)n(n=1-3) Clusters
Jang, Sang-Hee,Park, Sung-Woo,Kang, Joo-Hye,Lee, Sung-Yul Korean Chemical Society 2002 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.23 No.9
Computations are presented for the catechol-$(H_2O)_n$ (n = 1-3) clusters. A variety of conformers are predicted, and their relative energies are compared. Binding energies of the clusters are computed, and detailed analysis is presented on the harmonic frequencies of stretching modes involving the hydrogen bonding in the clusters, comparing with the experimental observations.

Sang Mi Lee,Na Ra Jeong,Seon Hee Jeong,Gyung Mee Gim,Kyung Sook Han,Young Chea,Kwang Jin Kim,Hyun Jin Jang 인간식물환경학회 2019 인간식물환경학회지 Vol.22 No.1
This study was designed to examine agro-healing services and programs provided and operated by farms in Korea. The results of the analysis of the agro-healing programs and operation of farms were as follows. The purpose of the operation of farms was to raise productivity by managing farms in a cooperative way through agricultural production, education and healing, and to raise income by processing and selling agricultural products. It was difficult to access farms by public transport and thus visitors had to use their own cars. The size of farms varied. The main resources utilized in the surveyed programs were plants, rural environments and landscapes, and agricultural products. The programs were conducted using resources that were commonly found in rural areas. Facilities on each farm were equipped with facilities (indoor and outdoor learning place, gardens, vegetable gardens, orchards, etc.) and convenience facilities (parking lots, drinking fountains, kiosks, etc.) to support program operation. However, facilities for the handicapped and accommodation facilities were insufficient. The programs operated on each farm utilized agricultural resources, farm produce, and rural resources and were classified into activities such as making, feeling, and growing. The average number of people who operated the family-centered program was 2-3, having qualifications such as welfare horticultural therapists, forest interpreters, experience instructors, and social workers. In addition, they had expertise in medicinal food, dietary life, and social welfare, and they also had essential expertise required to operate programs.
Functions of PUF Family RNA-Binding Proteins in Aspergillus nidulans
( Sung-hun Son ),( Seo-yeong Jang ),( Hee-soo Park ) 한국미생물생명공학회(구 한국산업미생물학회) 2021 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.31 No.5
RNA-binding proteins are involved in RNA metabolism and posttranscriptional regulation of various fundamental biological processes. The PUF family of RNA-binding proteins is highly conserved in eukaryotes, and its members regulate gene expression, mitochondrial biogenesis, and RNA processing. However, their biological functions in Aspergillus species remain mostly unknown in filamentous fungi. Here we have characterized the puf genes in the model organism Aspergillus nidulans. We generated deletion mutant strains for the five putative puf genes present in the A. nidulans genome and investigated their developmental phenotypes. Deletion of pufA or pufE affected fungal growth and asexual development. pufA mutants exhibited decreased production of asexual spores and reduced mRNA expression of genes regulating asexual development. The pufE deletion reduced colony growth, increased formation of asexual spores, and delayed production of sexual fruiting bodies. In addition, the absence of pufE reduced both sterigmatocystin production and the mRNA levels of genes in the sterigmatocystin cluster. Finally, pufE deletion mutants showed reduced trehalose production and lower resistance to thermal stress. Overall, these results demonstrate that PufA and PufE play roles in the development and sterigmatocystin metabolism in A. nidulans.
