N/A The 19 months clinical experiences about 634 cases of laparoscpic surgery were reviewed at Sung-Ae General Hospital from July 1991 to Jan. 1993 The results were as follows; Among 168 cases of laparoscopic cholecystectomy and 5 cases of laparoscopic CBD exploration, we obtained better results with advantages of laparoscopic surgery including few complications, less morbidity and early return to work. In series of 361 cases of laparoscopic appendectomy, we obtained superior results especially in the cases of 1) uncertainty of clinically suspected appendicitis, 2) right lower quadrant pelvic pain without other pathology and 3) patients who wanted early return to work. In series of spontaneous pneumothorax with bullae and recurrent pneumothorax, the thoracoscopic bullectomy was much superior than open bullectomy. The laparoscopic Taylor procedures and laparoscopic bandlysis will be better choice in the management of intractable pain in duodenal ulcer and postoperative adhesion. The diagnostic laparoscopy will be much useful in the blunt and penetrating abdominal trauma.

We demonstrate GaN-based blue light-emitting diodes (GaN LEDs) with artificial compound eye structures (CESs). The GaN LEDs consist of microlens arrays (MLAs) and antireflective subwavelength structures (SWSs). The CESs, formed on the LED surface by two-step pattern transfer of reflowed photoresist micro patterns and Ag nanoparticles, play an important role in enhancing the light extraction efficiency by reducing both the Fresnel and the total internal reflection. The CES integrated GaN LEDs show an output power enhancement of 93% compared to that of conventional GaN LEDs with flat surface, without any serious degradation of electrical characteristics. Optical simulations by ray-tracing and the rigorous coupled-wave analysis method provide design guidelines for MLAs and SWSs, respectively.

Morphologic Analysis of Water-Cooled Bipolar Radiofrequency lesions on Egg White in Vitro
Kang, Sang-Soo,Park, Jung-Chan,Yoon, Young-Jun,Shin, Keun-Man The Korean Pain Society 2012 The Korean Journal of Pain Vol.25 No.3
Background: The aim of this study was to document the optimal spacing of two cannulae to form continuous strip lesions and maximal surface area by using water-cooled bipolar radiofrequency technology. Methods: Two water-cooled needle probes (15 cm length, 18-gauge probe with 6 mm electrode tip) were placed in a parallel position 10, 20, 24, 26, and 28 mm apart and submerged in egg white. Temperatures of the probes were raised from $35^{\circ}C$ to $90^{\circ}C$ and the progress of lesion formation was photographed every 1 minute with the increase of the tip temperature. Approximately 30 photographs were taken. The resultant surface areas of the lesions were measured with the digital image program. Results: Continuous strip lesions were formed when the cannulae were spaced 24 mm or less apart; monopolar lesions around each cannula resulted if they were spaced more than 26 mm apart. Maximal surface areas through the formation of continuous strip lesion were 221 $mm^2$, 375 $mm^2$, and 476 $mm^2$ in 10, 20, and 24 mm, respectively. Summations of maximal surface area of each monopolar lesions were 394 $mm^2$ and 103 $mm^2$ in 26 and 28 mm, respectively. Conclusions: Water-cooled bipolar Radiofrequency technology creates continuous "strip" lesions proportional in size to the distance between the probes till the distance between cannulae is 24 mm or less. Spacing the cannulae 24 mm apart and treating about $80^{\circ}C$ for 24 minutes maximizes the surface area of the lesion.
Characteristics of Absorption and Accumulation of Inorganic Germanium in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer
Kang, Je-Yong,Park, Chan-Soo,Ko, Sung-Ryong,In, Kyo,Park, Chol-Soo,Lee, Dong-Yun,Yang, Deok-Chun The Korean Society of Ginseng 2011 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.35 No.1
The characteristics of absorption and accumulation of inorganic germanium in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer were examined. In 4-year-old P. ginseng, the germanium content of the field soil increased with increased amounts and frequencies of inorganic germanium application, while chemical components of the soil, such as available phosphate and exchangeable calcium, potassium, and magnesium, decreased with the increased inorganic germanium application. In the 4-year-old P. ginseng, the germanium content was highest in the rhizome and increased in the order of stem, leaf, lateral root, and main root, suggesting that inorganic germanium was absorbed from the root and translocated to the stem and leaf via the rhizome. As for changes in ginsenosides in 4-year-old P. ginseng rhizomes, the contents of ginsenosides $Rb_1$, $Rb_2$, Re, and Rf decreased as the germanium content in soil increased. Ginsenosides $Rb_1$, $Rb_2$, Rc, Re, and Rf in the main root also decreased with increasing germanium content in the main root. The results suggest that inorganic germanium treatment may increase organic germanium in harvested P. ginseng, thus enhancing the medicinal effi cacy of ginseng products.

Backgrounds/Aims: The purpose of this study was to investigate attitudes regarding the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol of hepato-biliary-pancreatic (HBP) surgeons in Korea and the extent to which they use the protocol for perioperative management. Methods: An online survey was conducted among members of the Korean Association of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery (KAHBPS) for eight weeks beginning on August 2019. The questionnaire, which was written in Korean, was based on the latest ERAS guidelines. Total responses were collected from 127 surgeons. Results: Of the 127 total respondents, the largest proportion (44.9%) were working in Seoul. In terms of established in-hospital clinical pathways (CP), 19.7% of the participating surgeons had and followed a CP in pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and 21.3% in hepatectomy. Regarding the ERAS protocol for each surgery, four items (18.2%) regarding PD and seven items (35.0%) related to hepatectomy were followed by more than 50% of respondents. Conclusions: ERAS guidelines are one of the consensuses for better recovery in perioperative management of patients undergoing major surgeries and encompass the overall process of patient recovery including patient education, pain control, physiologic balance, and perioperative nutrition. A novel project is needed to successfully implement an evidence-based enhanced recovery strategy.

Sang-Kuk Kang,Chan Woo Lee,Noh Kyoung Park,Tae-Wook Kang,Jeong-Wook Lim,Ki Yong Cha,김정환 대한재활의학회 2011 Annals of Rehabilitation Medicine Vol.35 No.6
Objective To identify risk factors for developing a vertebral refracture after percutaneous vertebroplasty. Method A retrospective analysis of 60 patients who had undergone percutaneous vertebroplasty between January 2008 and April 2010 was conducted. All patients were observed for a 1 year follow-up period, and fracture was defined when it was both clinically reported and radiographically confirmed. Twenty-seven patients with a refractured vertebra and 33 patients without a refracture were included. Of the 60 patients, 20 presented with a refracture from a cemented vertebra, whereas the remaining 40 patients did not. Clinical, imaging and procedurerelated factors for each group were analyzed by the Fisher’s exact, chi-square, and the Mann–Whitney U-tests. Results Local kyphotic angle and sagittal index were significant as a result of researching various risk factors related to vertebral refracture (p<0.001, p<0.001, respectively) and refracture from a cemented vertebra itself (p=0.004, p<0.001, respectively). Other factors were not significant. Conclusion Patients who had a high preoperative local kyphotic angle and a high sagittal index required a close follow-up and attention. A Study on the Export Priority Indicators of Rice Processed Food for Export Business
Kang, Kyung soo,Son, Chan soo,Jung, Jong min,Park, Sang youn,Kim, Hyo Eun The International Promotion Agency of Culture Tech 2018 International Journal of Advanced Culture Technolo Vol.6 No.3
As the trade among the countries increases, domestic agriculture is facing a crisis. Especially domestic rice industry is suffering from the rice market opening problem and the domestic rice industry itself. As a counter measure against this, despite the promotion of the rice processing food industry, the export of rice processed food has decreased by an average annual rate of 12.3% since 2011 due to the lack of customized export strategy, such as low price competitiveness, insufficient quality and brand management. As a measure, we selected indicators to prioritize establishment of export strategy of rice processed food business and used AHP methodology to draw the weight for each indicators. The selection of export strategy prioritization indicator was based on the marketing mix theory, various previous research reviews and expert consulting. Five higher level indicators and nineteen detailed indicators were derived, and a weighted value of them was analyzed using a professional package. As a result, the relative importance of higher level indicators was 45.5% for product differentiation, 18.4% for management competence, 13.0% for export infrastructure, 12.0% for product pricing, and 11.1% for product distribution. The relative importance of the lower level indicators was 17.3% for product safety, 15.3% for product quality, 9.1% for management expertise, and 7.0% for product brand. This result is expected to be used as export strategy indicators of rice processed food export business.
