실리카 입자가 첨가된 광경화성 임프린트용 복합체를 제조하여 실리카 양에 따른 경화 특성과 전사된 수 백 나노미터 크기의 임프린트 패턴 형성에 관한 결함을 조사하였다. 상온에서 UV 경화한 임프린트 레진은 실리카 양 이 증가할수록 탄성률이 커지고 수축률이 줄어드는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 실리카 입자의 양이 7 wt% 이상인 경우 전사된 나노기둥끼리 서로 달라붙는 결함을 보이는데, 이는 실리카 입자가 광반응을 방해하여 임프린트 레진 의 경화가 불완전하게 되면서 광경화된 레진의 점성이 증가했기 때문이다. 임프린트 레진에 실리카 입자를 충전제로 사용하면 경화 후 나노 패턴의 강도를 증가하여 형태를 유지하는데 도움이 되지만, 실리카 양이 7 wt% 이상이 되면 오히려 광반응 전환율이 떨어져 임프린트 공정에 의한 나노 패턴의 전사가 어려운 것을 알 수 있다. The effects of silica content were studied on UV curing characteristics and defect formations in imprinted patterns of hundreads nanometer size for the photo-curable imprinting composites with silica particles. An increase in elasticity and a decrease in shrinkage were observed with an increase in silica content in the imprinting resin which was UV cured at room temperature. However, the patterned nano-pillars were stuck together with neighboring nano-pillars if the amount of silica is more than 7 wt%. This can be ascribed to the increased viscosity of imperfectly cured resin due to the obstruction of the photo-reaction by silica particles. Addition of silica to the imprinting resin is useful in enhancing the strength of the cured resin although it is difficult to get good imprinted patterns for the resin with more than 7 wt% of silica due to the reduction of photo-reaction conversion.
SET/CMOS hybrid process and multiband filtering circuits

We have developed an integration technology for the single electron transistor (SET)/CMOS hybrid systems. SET and CMOS transistors can be optimized without any possible degradation due to mixing dissimilar devices by adopting just one extra mask step for the separate gate oxidation (SGOX). We have confirmed that discrete devices show ideal characteristics required for the SET/CMOS hybrid systems. An SET shows obvious Coulomb oscillations with a 200-mV period and CMOS transistors show high voltage gain. Based on the hybrid process, new hybrid circuits, called periodic multiband filters, are proposed and successfully implemented. The new filter is designed to perform a filtering operation according to the periodic multiple blocking bands of which a period is originated from the SET. Such a novel function was implemented efficiently with a few transistors by making full use of the periodic nature of SET characteristics.
Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 억제제 투여가 백서 소장의 Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 유도에 미치는 영향

Background/Aims: Intestinal angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is an important peptidase in digestion and assimilation of protein rich in proline such as casein and collagen. In spite of their various uses, the effect of ACE inhibitors on intestinal ACE activity is not well known. Therefore, we measured ACE activity of rats which took high proline diet with or without four weeks' treatment of ACE inhibitors. Methods: Thirty Wistar rats were divided into 2 groups. One group was fed with the standard chow diet and the other group was fed with high-proline diet (standard diet mixed with 20% gelatin by half). Each group was subdivided into 3 groups according to the administrated ACE inhibitors (tap water, captopril solution (25 mg/kg/day), fosinopril solution (10 mg/kg/day)). After rearing of 4 weeks, we sacrificed the rats and their intestinal ACE activity and ACE mRNA were measured in three equally divided segments of small intestine. Results: Specific activity of ACE was suppressed by fosinopril but not by captopril in both standard diet group and high-proline diet group. There was no statistically significant correlation between specific activity of ACE and mRNA level. Conclusions: In long term treatment of captopril and fosinopril, only fosinopril inhibits specific activity of ACE in both standard diet group and high-proline diet group. The genetic mechanism of ACE expression may be regulated at the posttranscription level.
Thermally Stable Photo-Crosslinking Polymers Bearing Cinnamate Groups for Liquid Crystal Alignment

<P>Optically ansiotropic photo-crosslinking polymers were synthesized through reaction between different kinds of epoxy resins and cinnamic acids. Optical anisotropy of the polymer film exposed to linearly polarized UV light (LPUVL) was confirmed from the polarized UV-Visible spectra. The polymer films irradiated by LPUVL showed anisotropic absorbance in the polarized UV-Visible spectra, while the polymer irradiated by unpolarized UV exhibited isotropic absorbance. It was also confirmed that the polymer film exposed to LPUVL could align liquid crystals (LC). LC cell fabricated using the polymer films irradiated by LPUVL showed the anisotropic polar diagram, implying that the polymer films may be applied as the photoalignment layer for LC display.</P>

<P>Herbal prescription, Danggui-Sayuk-Ga-Osuyu-Saenggang-tang (DSGOST), has long been used to treat Raynaud's phenomenon (RP) in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). However, a biological mechanism by which DSGOST ameliorates RP is yet deciphered. In this study, we demonstrate that DSGOST inhibits cold-induced activation of RhoA, in both vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) and endothelial cells (EC), and blocks endothelin-1-mediated paracrine path for cold response on vessels. While cold induced RhoA activity in both cell types, DSGOST pretreatment prevented cold-induced RhoA activation. DSGOST inhibition of cold-induced RhoA activation further blocked <I><I>α</I></I>2c-adrenoreceptor translocation to the plasma membrane in VSMC. In addition, DSGOST inhibited endothelin-1-mediated RhoA activation and <I><I>α</I></I>2c-adrenoreceptor translocation in VSMC. Meanwhile, DSGOST inhibited cold-induced or RhoA-dependent phosphorylation of FAK, SRC, and ERK. Consistently, DSGOST inhibited cold-induced endothelin-1 expression in EC. Therefore, DSGOST prevents cold-induced RhoA in EC and blocks endothelin-1-mediated paracrine path between EC and VSMC. In conclusion, our data suggest that DSGOST is beneficial for treating RP-like syndrome.</P>

광경화성 수지인 아크릴레이트의 경화 특성과 메카니즘에 대하여 Photo-DSC와 FTIR, Raman spectrometer를 이용하여 조사하였다. 아크릴레이트 종류, 관능기 수, 광 세기 등에 따른 경화 속도에 관한 정보는 시간에 따른 Photo-DSC curve에서 계산하였고, FTIR과 Raman을 이용하여 경화 반응의 전환율과 반응 메카니즘을 조사하였다. 광경화 반응에서 산소의 영향을 알아보기 위하여 아크릴레으트 수지와 thiol-ene 수지의 경화과정을 비교하였는데, 공기 중 산소가 아크릴레이트의 라디칼 반응에서 금지제로 작용하여 아크릴레이트 수치는 80% 이하의 전환율을 보인 반면 thiol-ene 수지는 산소가 반응에 영향을 미치지 않는 것을 알 수 있었다. The curing mechanism and characteristics of UV curable acrylate resins were studied using Photo-DSC, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy, Effects of chemical structures of acrylate, numbers of functional group, and UV intensity on curing kinetics were investigated with Photo-DSC. FTIR and Raman spectroscopy has been used to understand curing mechanisms and reaction conversion. In order to investigate the effect of oxygen on the photo-curing reaction, the curing process was compared between the acrylate and thiol-ene resins. The reaction conversion was found to be less than 80% for acrylate resins. The photo-curing reaction of the acrylate resin could not proceed to the end because of oxygen which acts as a reaction inhibitor while the thiol-ene resin was hardly affected from oxygen during the curing process.
