Rolling Bearing Incipient Fault Detection via Optimized VMD Using Mode Mutual Information

The complete failure of the rolling bearing is a deterioration process from the incipient weak fault to the severe fault, thus it is important to alarm when the incipient fault appear. This work presents a novel incipient bearing fault diagnosis framework using mode mutual information (MMI) based fitness function, variational mode decomposition (VMD), and cuckoo search (CS) algorithm. MMI based fitness function is proposed in order to obtain the optimal combinations of the VMD parameters. Therefore, the optimal parameters of VMD can be obtained by CS algorithm using proposed fitness function. Afterwards, a vibration signal is decomposed into a set of modes using the optimal VMD, and the kurtosis value of all modes are calculated. The envelop of the mode with maximum kurtosis value between modes and raw signal is computed as the input vector of the stacked denoised autoencoder (SDAE). Comparisons have been conducted via SDAE to evaluate the performance by using EMD and the fixedparameter VMD. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is more effective in extracting the incipient bearing fault characteristics.
Analysis on the Causes and Countermeasures of Sino-US Trade Friction

The study attempts to investigate the causes of Sino-U.S. trade friction in recent years and provides countermeasures accordingly. The import and export volume of two countries, the product structure of China's export, the 337th Act lawsuits related to China, the industries involved in trade friction, and the G-L Index of Sino-U.S. Products are analyzed in detail. The causes of Sino-US trade frictions are discussed from the aspect of mercantilism and trade protectionism, interest groups and governments' trade policies, Chinese product structure, intellectual property protection in China, and performance of Chinese enterprises in litigation. Based on these, countermeasures are put forward. China needs to implement industrial upgrading, increasing the added value of products, and improving intellectual property protection. A trade friction warning system also needs to be constructed. The Chinese government needs to carry out strategic dialogue and international negotiation.

Background and Purpose This study investigated the contribution of white-matter hyperintensities (WMH) and lacunar infarcts (LI) to the risk of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in an elderly cohort in China. Methods Older adults who were initially cognitively normal were examined with MRI at baseline, and followed for 5 years. WMH were classified as mild, moderate, or severe, and LI were classified into a few LI (1 to 3) or many LI (≥4). Cognitive function was assessed using the Mini Mental State Examination and the Activities of Daily Living scale. Results Among the 2,626 subjects, 357 developed AD by the end of the 5-year follow-up period. After adjusting for age and other potential confounders, having only WMH, having only LI, and having both WMH and LI were associated with an increased risk of developing AD compared with having neither WMH nor LI. Moderate and severe WMH were associated with an increased risk of developing AD compared with no WMH. Furthermore, patients with many LI had an increased risk of developing AD compared with no LI. Conclusions Having moderate or severe WMH and many LI were associated with an increased risk of developing AD, with this being particularly striking when both WMH and LI were present.

An efficient process for the synthesis of N-azaaryl anilines via Smiles rearrangement as a tool. A variety of Nazaaryl anilines were generated by the reaction of substituted phenols, substituted anilines, aminopyridines and chloroacetyl chloride or pyridols, under base condition in good to excellent yields.

Coat colour phenotype of Qingyu pig is associated with polymorphisms of melanocortin receptor 1 gene

Objective: Qingyu pig, a Chinese indigenous pig breed, exhibits two types of coat colour phenotypes, including pure black and white with black spotting respectively. Melanocortin receptor 1 (MC1R) and agouti signaling protein (ASIP) are two widely reported pivotal genes that significantly affect the regulation of coat colour. The objectives of this study were to investigate whether the polymorphisms of these two genes are associated with coat colour and analyze the molecular mechanism of the coat colour separation in Qingyu pig. Methods: We studied the phenotype segregation and used polymerase chain reaction amplification and Sanger sequencing to investigate the polymorphism of MC1R and ASIP in 121 Qingyu pigs, consisting of 115 black and 6 white with black spotted pigs. Results: Coat colour of Qingyu pig is associated with the polymorphisms of MC1R but not ASIP. We only found 2 haplotypes, EQY and Eqy, based on the 13 observed mutations from MC1R gene. Among which, Eqy presented a recessive inheritance mode in black spotted Qingyu pigs. Further analysis revealed a g.462-463CC insertion that caused a frameshift mutation and a premature stop codon, thus changed the first transmembrane domain completely and lost the remaining six transmembrane domains. Altogether, our results strongly support that the variety of Qingyu pig’s coat colour is related to MC1R. Conclusion: Our findings indicated that black coat colour in Qingyu pig was dominant to white with black spotted phenotype and MC1R gene polymorphism was associated with coat colour separation in Qingyu pig.

Aspongopus chinensis Dallas, 1851 is an important insect resource with a long utilization history as traditional Chinese medicine and food owing to its various health benefits, including anti-cancer, anti-bacteria, and anticlotting properties. However, the long period of reproductive diapause during the overwintering stage has limited the broad utilization and artificial cultivation of A. chinensis. Diapause is largely regulated by juvenile hormones. Therefore, understanding the relationship between juvenile hormone metabolism and A. chinensis diapause may provide useful insight for developing genetic engineering strategies to regulate diapause. We identified differentially expressed genes in diapause and non-diapause adults of A. chinensis by transcriptome sequencing. A total of 336,230,260 clean reads were assembled into 80,769 unigenes. Overall, 3,524 differen tially expressed genes were identified, including 2,174 down-regulated and 1,350 up-regulated genes in diapause adults. Among these differentially expressed genes, 22 were significantly enriched in the JH III metabolismrelated pathway based on Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis. These results provide insight into the molecular-level mechanism of diapause regulation and highlight new targets for preventing diapause to improve A. chinensis cultivation and productivity.

The rising cases of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (Ab) and the lack of effective drugs call for quick attention. Here, based on a Tn7 transposon and Xer/dif system, we constructed a stable, selectable marker-free autoluminescent Ab capable of producing visible light without extra substrates. Utilization of this autoluminescent reporter strain has the potential to reduce the time, effort and costs required for the evaluation of activities of anti-Ab drug candidates in vitro.

A number of novel small molecules, safrole oxide derivatives 4a-c, 6a-c, 9a-h, were synthesized by the reaction of safrole oxide with anilines 3 and 5, or its alkyl allyl ether derivative 7 with alkyl bromide 8 in moderate yields. The antiproliferative effects of all the target molecules on A549 cell growth were investigated and it was found that the 14 novel compounds could suppress A549 lung cancer cell growth. Among them, compound 6b was the most effective compound in inhibiting the proliferation of A549 cells.
